I love how condescending they are trowards Americans ( i'm american ) .
I think the fact they they did'nt give a fuck what amercans thought of them is why they never really became huge here, well that and the lack of exposure.
the holy bible is decent but you all need to get some perspective. the manics' are not the best band in the world, not even one of the best british bands. decent lyrics shame about the music. try listening to the fall.
I agree with you Lovesrichey. Once you like the Manic Street Preachers you really become a different person. It's not like those other bands that people claim to have 'changed their life', The Manics really bring some knowledge into your life and inspire you.
I hate to be like the journalists, but they really were better with Richey. I'm glad Journal for Plague Lovers has the angry sound to it, because that's what the Manics are. They're pissed off, intelligent politicians.
The manics are so inspiring in many different areas, not just with music, but with lyrics, style, outlook, intelligence, beauty, statements, art, lifestyle, books they've read, films they've watched.... They are so understated : / i think they are the most amazing band ever....as people often say, being a manics fan isnt just liking their music, it's a lifestyle.
grew up with the manics my dad used to play them all the time never knew they were this raw and looked this good, Generation Terrorists changed my life
Me too. i don't think any other band - or person, for that matter - have broadened my mind and political/intellectual horizons half as much as Manics.
wow, interesting interview...nicky wire and richey edwards seemed very very charming and softly spoken...Generation Terrorists is one hell of an album :)
It's a beautiful place. I have lived there (specifically in South Wales where the Manics come from) for two and a half years and it's really special. One of the reasons, what sets it apart from England is that there are valleys, hills and castles in most of the places.
ok,u can laugh i know i'll sound ridiculous saying this, but i think it's painful to watch old interviews with richey cuz he's not there anymore and probably we'll never know what happened to him... =/
polish i assume. check up the in info...also he has a heidi accent :D sorry that's just how i recognised it..richey's accent makes me think he's partly french even though i know very well he's welsh...still...shows how brill i am at picking accents lulz. *note sarcasm*

@rstc8 that bloke is I think English, it was a gimic off a show - Euro Trash.
It used to have band interviews. The music press would often flag upcoming stuff of interest on the show.
So I can remember watching some shows but most of the time it was that annoying show...
jarvisv6a 1 year ago
@rstc8 it's french :P

Given how it all turned out, I find it really hard to watch these old interviews.
The Manics are an incredible band and despite their success I still think they're under-rated.
