  • ahh Richey... i love you

  • I love them

  • i am in love with a dead

  • They hated all contemporary bands except guns n' roses

  • two handsome tyre fitters at king david tyres CLIVE AND JEFF

  • so young...and so beautiful... :)

  • the holy bible is decent but you all need to get some perspective. the manics' are not the best band in the world, not even one of the best british bands. decent lyrics shame about the music. try listening to the fall.

  • Richey is so beautiful here in his make up <3

  • I agree with you Lovesrichey. Once you like the Manic Street Preachers you really become a different person. It's not like those other bands that people claim to have 'changed their life', The Manics really bring some knowledge into your life and inspire you.

I hate to be like the journalists, but they really were better with Richey. I'm glad Journal for Plague Lovers has the angry sound to it, because that's what the Manics are. They're pissed off, intelligent politicians.

  • Id say they achieved the goal of being the best band in the world.

  • the song at 50 is Loves Sweet Exile and at 1.37 is Repeat...both off Generation Terrorists :)

  • The manics are so inspiring in many different areas, not just with music, but with lyrics, style, outlook, intelligence, beauty, statements, art, lifestyle, books they've read, films they've watched.... They are so understated : / i think they are the most amazing band ever....as people often say, being a manics fan isnt just liking their music, it's a lifestyle.

  • @Lovesrichey Couldn't agree more, Greatest band that ever lived.!

  • God bless the Manic's. lovey wuvey always.

  • The Manics have taught me more than school ever did

  • that song is one of the mixes of "repeat" by the manics, from their generation terrorists album.

  • what's the song playing at 1:37? great interview, the manics are very intelligent musicians.

  • it's really sad to watch Richey on that old clips

  • 'We're secure in the knowledge that we lost a long time ago'

    Classic Richey.

This is a really good clip, thanks for posting it :)

  • could anyone please tell me what is the song at 0:50? the beat is kinde rushingly-romantic

  • it's "love's sweet exile" by manics

  • why are they doing interviews in the snow?:D

  • grew up with the manics my dad used to play them all the time never knew they were this raw and looked this good, Generation Terrorists changed my life

  • Very cool of your Dad to pass down music like this!

  • 2:30.

    His eyes...

  • Richey looks like he's freezing to death lmao

  • used to have this on video! Manics made me want to read Kerouac, Camus, Plath. Cheers for that!

  • Me too. i don't think any other band - or person, for that matter - have broadened my mind and political/intellectual horizons half as much as Manics.

  • wow, interesting interview...nicky wire and richey edwards seemed very very charming and softly spoken...Generation Terrorists is one hell of an album :)

  • It most certainly is.

  • i love the arrogance of the first album

  • lol i wish Generation Terrorists became bigger than This is my truth tell me yours and Everything must go

  • MSP are not the same without Richey :-(

  • agreed man. :(

  • isnt that dude at the beginning from euro trash

  • Sounds a bit like the ravishing Konnie Huq.

  • what is the song @ 2.40? I <3 Richey and the manics :):):):)

Richey is one of the most beautiful people ever.

  • Little Baby Nothing

  • Thank you, you rock :)

  • Love the look on James' face @ 2:18/19 :)

  • LMAO Classic

Christ the manics were such moody bastards back in the day!

I miss the anger they used to have.

  • fuck oysters. rieys voice is the original aphrodisiac

  • Hanoi Rocks, that's it you little pricks! Genius!

  • okay i love the way richey says

    'sex pistols'

  • Hey! I think I have seen some of those places shown in the video. Nice documentary by the way.

  • Richey.. what a truly amazing human being

  • the weather was like that today

  • a realy sweet interview. i wish i was into the manic from the start. imagine being at a gig in the early days and having a chat ro richey somewhere

  • Aw, nice interview. hee! at james and the pony.

    Sean looks FREEZING.

  • didnt knew that wales was like siberia

  • It's a beautiful place. I have lived there (specifically in South Wales where the Manics come from) for two and a half years and it's really special. One of the reasons, what sets it apart from England is that there are valleys, hills and castles in most of the places.

  • love it when nick describes record execs as obediant serfs

  • I REALLY Want A Leapord Skin Coat....

    xD

  • ok,u can laugh i know i'll sound ridiculous saying this, but i think it's painful to watch old interviews with richey cuz he's not there anymore and probably we'll never know what happened to him... =/

    anyway... GOD SAVE THA MANICS!!

  • aw no, that's not ridiculous, it's so so sad what happened to him, he was/is such a beautiful person.

  • yeah.

  • i like nickys hat (Y)

  • AH RICHEY

    you are BEAUTIFUL

  • "ar-tickle-ut" haha.. but its so sweet when Richey says "bet-ah" in some other interviews!!

But what was that man at the beginning and end ON?! Was he even speaking English??

  • it sounds like japanese or chinese. but i`m not sure

  • polish i assume. check up the in info...also he has a heidi accent :D sorry that's just how i recognised it..richey's accent makes me think he's partly french even though i know very well he's welsh...still...shows how brill i am at picking accents lulz. *note sarcasm*

  • haha it's not polish :D i would understand if it was polish ;) it's more finnish to me...

  • its NOT finnish:D

  • Actually, maybe its Dutch..

  • Antoine De Caunes. He's French, speaking English.

  • @rstc8 that bloke is I think English, it was a gimic off a show - Euro Trash.

It used to have band interviews. The music press would often flag upcoming stuff of interest on the show.

So I can remember watching some shows but most of the time it was that annoying show...

  • @rstc8 it's french :P

  • Given how it all turned out, I find it really hard to watch these old interviews.

The Manics are an incredible band and despite their success I still think they're under-rated.

  • aw! richey is just so cute here! :D

  • lmao i know it's not fair to laugh at his accent but it's just really funny when nicky says that they wanted someone "ar-tickle-ut"

  • Long live the Manics!
