!!!!!!! OMG! I HATE PAUL MITCHELL INK! Special Effects... do they still make that???! IF SO I'M GLAD! Way back when, in elementary school... literally, I had red tips on my hair for almost all of 5th grade, and we always used Special Effects, and it was so good. It stayed long and it was great.. now, Paul Mitchell Ink, my god that was horrible. My sister is a licensed cosmetologist, and we started using the Ink and it was bad, we had pink, purple, and blue. The blue was green and they faded fast

Theres a dye called Adore that I use a lot. You can buy it at almost any weave store and the colors are super vibrant and last for months.

I used raw for many years, and Adore is deffinetly the way to go. Paul Mitchell's ink is an inkwash, so its supposed to wash out really fast.  And yes Ive never had any good experience with N' Raged or Manic Panic, they are all very washy out.

But for good vibrant color that will last you months go for Adore.

@notjuliettelewis123 I know that all dyes say NOT to dye your eyebrows, but really you can. They just want to make sure you DONT get it in your eyes, so they warn you. so dye away!!! :D (I've dyed mine blue!)

Yehh I used Paul mittchell's purple and tht shit didnt come out right so i did some blue and i forgot wht brand it was and faded out to green and I put on nrage bubble gum pink and my hair looks like shit now:/

@214Texasmade817 UGH!!! I HEAR YOU!!:( I used some wierd brand that was multi colored & it came off as soon as I rinsed it!! I panicked & bought Manic Panic Shocking Blue & it left my hair some type of green that looks like SHIT!!!:( I'm sorry you had a bad experience too :(

@ilyTH13 Yeh well right now i have some streaks tht are magenta (bright pink^_^)and i used Chromasilk vivid colors and i love my hair:) It worked pretty good but you just have to wash your hair with cold water. My aunt is a professional hair hair dresser and introduced me to Chromasilk vivid and its awsome:)

my personal use with beyond the zone hasnt been good i really like my colors to last and if ur the same way beyond the zone will fade out on u fast...they have gorgeous colors but they dont last.

Thanks, I was originally going to use Raw, but then someone told me it was awful and that I should use ManicPanic, but since I couldn't find it in green I was trying to find something else. Now I think I'll just stick to using Raw, how long does it last so I know when to buy more?

How long does red Special Effects last? I tried Manic Panic after the professional dye faded out and it was crap :-P So next summer when school is out (they're against "crazy hair colors"), I'm gonna dye it again

Have you tried splat? I get it from walgreens. It's amazing. I only have to leave it in for 10-15 minutes and it turns out hot pink and it barely fades. It literally stained my hair once. Like it wouldn't come out ven after several bleaches xD

wow i was going to use manic panic but know i think i'll use special effects. I'd like to have deep purple hair colour and i don't want to bleach my hair because it's already quite damaged. Do you think i should use a bright purple so it will show up more or should i use the dark purple?

Do you bleach it first? Because I've used the Raw in Turquoise on my dark brown hair, and it fades after two washes. Also did you keep it in for longer than the 15 minutes it says on the bottle. I'm such a beginner at dying hair, hence the questions. Thanks.

I was thinking about getting Raw in Lavender, but if i feel like changing it again would u say Raw is easy to bleach out?? Cuz i used Manic Panic (which does sux!) It fades when i dont want it to and wont bleach out when i want it to. Lemme Kno...

saddly raw is tricky to bleach out i just went through the process of bleaching it out to get white hair and it was no simple task. but the good thing is raw color has a great longevity it will last a while.

raw on dark hair colors will only subtly tint hair it wont color over it for best results prelighten.

I would recommend just putting the raw over the black hair because if u mix the black hair dye with the color of choice you'll still probably just get black,

Anything with olive oil in it is excellent for dry hair also go for stuff thats sulfate free sulfate really drys out thehair and when your hair is dry to begin with the last thing u want is something else to dry it more.

Special effects would always be mypick out of the two i've used both and SE just hold up better but if u really want something to hold try raw. as for shampoo ALWAYS use color care products..avoid sunlight (sunlight strips hair color) and try not washing ur hair everyday it's actually healthy to go a few days between shampoos ur hairs natural oil with help the condition of your hair as well. this is only a option if u dont have a oily scalp.

You really shouldn't care what others think, you have one life. Do you want to live true to yourself or go on doing what others would accept you for most likely being miserable in the process. I say seize the day do it. Fuck anyone that doesn't like it. only you know what makes you happy. whether or not what makes us happy is "cool" or "acceptable" it really shouldn't matter. live your life for you and your own personal loves and thoughts. :DDD

lol raw is soo great to e it actually restores moisture to your hair =) ^.^ and u can add a lil package thats ass vitamens in it that helps restore hair its the only one i can use of color punk dyies that stays in -.- oh btw to u and ever ne else stay away from n rage mix and go one step color bleach system that bleaches and colors your hair blue or red or what ever in one step its does not work lol
