I'm English what i don't understand is why universitys need such large stadiums/arenas for sport most universities have an arena in america bigger than our national stadium
@Kurtis999Bevan Well, take a look. The seats are filled. Michigan regularly fills their 110,000 person stadium. If you have the fans to fill it, why not build it?
who has the most wins, the highest winning percentage, and 11 national championships? MICHIGAN! app state. has a pathetic 3 national titles in a much easier division, if app state played in D1 every year they wouldnt win a game.

U of M doesn't have a patent on this. The comment says "Leave it to U of M...to make the wave interesting." I've seen it done this way at dozens of stadiums. So don't get any more cocky about yourselves than you already are.
"leave it to _____" does not require a patent. the expression just means that michigan does a good job at making the wave intersting. no legalities involved
From Wikipedia: The wave makes regular appearances at University of Michigan football games. The team hosted 6 games in 2005 with more than 110,000 in attendance - the largest crowd being 111,591. The procedure at Michigan games generally follows a pattern (led by the student section) of sending the wave around counter-clockwise twice, then once in slow-motion, then once at double the original speed, then once around clockwise, and finally, splitting it into two counter-rotational waves

You know, sometimes it's possible to read into something way too deeply. This isn't one of those times, though -- you're seeing things that just aren't there. Get over yourself.
