all time supurb song composed by great kalyanji anandji bhai. The song is from Safar movie, lyrics by niraj. casting - rajesh khanna, sharmila tagore, feroj khan, mahesh kothare as a child star
A fine song from a very fine movie, which lacked nothing from movie making point of view, story, script, direction, music & brilliant performances by all.Rajesh Khanna's dialogue with Ashok Kumar & Sharmila Tagore need special mention.
One of the great song that define the 60's golden period. A muted grief and sense of resignation to fate pervades this song. The broad daylight with a realistic backdrop , Sharmila Tagore wiping a lone tear from her face , Rajesh Khanna stopping to listen to the song with a rye smile all add to the power of this song. You could not help holding your own tears back. When beautiful lyrics written from heart and sung with passion on a melodoius composition a classic is born.
Songs like these were made in earlier times - where the lyrics, singer and actors all made that magic happen. Jaane Kahaan gaye woh din? Indians are lucky to be born in their land. Such great performers have entertained us with their great performances. For many Indians, music and movies are the only way to unwind from the day's stress. And this music reaches all sectors irrespective of economic background via radio, TV. God Bless these performers!
unbelievable song...music, lyrics, singing. hats off to Kalyanji Anandji for composing such a touching and deep melody. Lataji makes the singing sound so effortless. genius.
@darkwa Sharmila Tagore, it doesn't matter, I think even though she could emote well and all that, she was way too sophisticated looking for all the roles she essayed which were essentially middle class... (see how she wipes her eyes lol) Too fake indeed.
@doobydot You are just so right about this. I remember this song so clearly from my childhood, listened it for more than a year on Radio Ceylon - almost every afternnoon I was very small but audio memory is 100% Those crappy beats are a recent addition, this is the best version on youtube although. Others are even worse with heavy beats like a monkey show on the road...
