I just returned to rc after 23years.I was looking at the Tamiya toyota pick-up truck because I like the scale appearance plus I was going to operate it on the grass and such.The hobby shop I use is 3 blocks away from where I live,they recomended an hpi car that I was looking at anyway so thats what I bought.The question is:is Tamiya good stuff to buy or should I stick to other names?
Tamiya is a great brand for RC trucks and cars, as is Axial, Losi, and Traxxas. Each have their strengths and weaknesses, and each is better at certain things than others. Best thing would be to research the class RC you want, and choose once you've made a decision, or just take the best parts from each and make your own!

the tamiya f350 is crap slow ,crap slipping gearbox,and pointless in this day and age! and yes i had mine for a day then got rid !my advice dont bother buying it.
the f350 gearbox slips to much and there to slow ,you cant even put a bigger motor in it to give it more speed!? the gearbox wont take anything more powerfull!
