I know this is not gonna be a fair comparism, but can this amp handle vintage-jcm800 sounds? dunno, whitesnake, vandenberg, boston, skid row and so on? I'm interested in a head with a more marshallish tone for classic-hard rock and a more fat and saturated inflames channel full of mids if needed...the quality of my speakers is low so i can't heard the sound very wel..
@taxo For Boston tones, check out Sholz's old Rockman line still kicking around ebay. For the rest, I bet you'd really dig the Carvin X1OOB. It's an 80's pedigree recently reissued, and was dubbed the "Marshall Killer" back in the day. Was also Vai's original workhorse amp before they gave him his own signature line, which was still based largely on the x100B. Check it out.
@VintageburstStandard yeah man,i know about that carvin, but unfortunately i live in europe, and I've searched for that head high and low without finding any....and importing from the USA would cost(if i remember) around 1300 €....
Rob, I'm not sure if it's the micing or youtube's audio compression, but all your vid's sound incredibly trebly, pointy and lack clarity and mid. I have played the Series One with a Blackstar 4x12 and it sounded nothing like the audio I'm getting from this vid. I have a decent pair of speakers, so it shouldn't be the problem either. What program you use for video editing? Maybe it's causing the compression? Love your vid's otherwise, but the sound is horrible in lot's of them :/
@Vooova Some of that effect your experiencing is your sound card, and speakers; to clarify that. Most sound cards V eq everything, as do PC- dedicated speakers and surround sound systems, use a creative card and some sennheiser HD 203 headphones and all the mid comes back, then ensure your card is set to 88.2k/24bit and you will hear what was recorded
@garfish111 id get the HT 100 i tried both and and the HT 100 i thought was better for metal and its not as expensive but it does do metal well thought ht 100 did it better but if u have the money get the series 1 200 thats what gus G uses and mike from opeth uses

Blackstar seem to be heading in a Hughes and Kettner direction which I really like. Good sounding amp this one.

@Vooova they all sound like crap especially after watching pro guitar shop reviews

@Vooova You can hear the kind of chorus-ey sound that happens when music files are compressed
