@gman18766 'scientists' haven't broken 'c' neutrinos have, although it would be funny to see a scientist traveling through space faster than the speed of light
@incarnation316 Actually they haven't (google "neutrino blunder pdf" and click on the first result) ... given the wealth of data from supernovae and previous experiments, I'm not inclined to throw away a century of theoretical physics based on a few years' worth of experiments. @greatfulkitteh i'm in that camp as well, just some stupid lil research i've done on the topic it's difficult to actually describe those neutrinos as having gone through space time faster than light given heisenberg uncertainty principle and the fracture of space time itself at the quantom level, not to mention that there are some descriptions of neutrinos themselves as outside 'our' universe, if anything my dumb lil research sugests this proof of at least a 4th dimension... long post >< b
@incarnation I'd love if it were true because it would be very very interesting but I'm just sort of in the "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence" camp. I hope more experiments are done to either confirm or deny the initial results.
@greatfulkitteh If you're talking about the paper by John P. Costella, then he himself has changed his mind. There is a newer one where he claims he made a mistaken assumption, and that the evidence for faster than light neutrinos is actually not wrong.
Hey math person. In an "alternate universe" or "parallel universe" would the same mathematics in this universe apply? Is a universe without a coherent system of mathematics conceivable? You understand I'm referring to the physical world and not the abstract world of math. Thanks.
This kinda reminds me of the movie "Pi" where this brilliant mathematician goes insane trying to find this eternal formula underlying the [theoretically predictable?] fluctuations of the stock market.
So a mad physicist is running around telling everyone "I derive you, I derive you!" finally he runs into a mathematician and says "I derive you!" The mathematician says "that doesn't brother me im e to the x." Like if you get the joke
What about that guy who tried to make the proof that -1-1-1-1-1-1 = 1 by putting parentheses in it like this I think (-1-1)-1-1-1-1 = 1, and said it proved god was real cause you made something out of nothing. I swear this is real lol
A) Because one does two different acts, does mean one act *caused* the other. Perhaps they were both 'caused' by the same thing.
B) To suppose that we know their minds well enough to say why they decided to stop living.. ??
C) It's well known that Turing was endlessly harrassed for his homosexuality; that Boltzmann had what we would call bipolar disorder today. These are not insanity.
A polygon w/ an infinite # of sides would be indestinguishable from a circle by any method of human measurement, but it is not a circle. A circle is not made of straight sections, but of one uniform curve. Inability to measure something does not turn it into something else, and mislabeling it also does not change it's true nature.
Heh. The fact that "four brilliant mathematicians whose genius has profoundly affected us" killed themselves over their findings is a testament to how weak some of humanity really is. But then, we're the first major evolutionary generation to develop complex societies.
What is, is... And it was before we discovered it, and it will continue to be long after our tenure on this insignificant rock.
Give it a rest ... obviously your education is faulty ... or you can't think ahead. Godel, Turing, Cantor and other math 'dumb people' made possible the laptop or PC that you use to troll on YouTube and other sites. I would've reasoned with you if you weren't such a 'genius'. Have a nice day sir and renew your knowledge.
Since you put the "dumb people" part in quotes, I guess this is addressed at me. Rest assured that I did not mean that the people it is about were dumb. I mean to say that it was created for a dumb audience.
@WiggaMachiavelli I'm sure you're so smart that you do calculus just for fun and theorize the theory of space and time while having lunch with Steven Hawkings to redefine the human understanding of dimensions and dark matter.
So please, run alone to discuss the important matters and leave us unenlightened primal apes to our stupid idiotic documentary.
I've never had lunch with Stephen Hawking, unfortunately.
The biggest problem I have with this documentary is that it presents things as sensational which really aren't. If it wants to be an informative program (and not a drama), it would be better to actually try to explain some of the maths instead of raving on about how it's mind-blowing or revolutionary or whatever.
Also, saying that a man who hallucinated the "voice of God" for his whole life was driven mad by maths is... odd.
Watch out! By the end [i.e.: after the first repetitive minutes] of this shocking thriller you'll reach the inevitable conclusion... that mathematics itself is CURSED!
I've come to this video to try and find motivation to revise for maths. When i was a kid i was amazing at math. I remember going home at the age of 6-12 and doing maths for fun because i enjoyed it. I even had races with teachers in school and beat them on math problems. Now my brain just doesn't work with math, i can't even do basic algebra anymore. Whats happening too me
@dalebeerboy If this has only happened for maths, maybe you just lost interest. If you are having problems in other areas (e.g. memory, concentration, reading) it could be any number of things: from a simple thyroid problem to something much more severe. If it the latter case, you should see a physician. Good luck!
Holy cow! Two mathematician got involved in a verbal match. And a third jumped into the fray. Many more could be standing around to jump in. i am out-a-here. i withdraw all my statements. Point and counter point will get us nowhere. Remember all the 4 mathematician mentioned in the documentary went raving mad and took their own lifes. For me, live and let live.
@ramanasei id like to be in a land that goes by the law, live and let live.. im so tired of fools interfering in my life.. threatening me with prison and guns if i dont obey their every command.. its really a great pain to live amongst such turds.. i only have this one chance to exist, in this form anyway, as far as i know.. why must i be hasstled and lorded over by these stupid pricks? live and let live
With greatest of respect i have to ask you, what has mathematical training to do with this? The Sages of yore have always maintained that this world is unreal. Let us for a moment assume that there is a bit of truth in this. They also said dont accept what we say blindly. You too can find out. How? By being with the "Self". And what is "The Self"? The "Self" is Pure Universal Consciousness or as the Hindus say "Enlightenment". How to has been elaborated by a number of Gurus. Now the onus is on us!
If you like watching documentaries on youtube, visit my website which you can find on my youtube channel!
I have created a collection of links to interesting documentaries on subjects like the history and culture of nations, world war II, science and conspiracy theories!
Or simply select and copy the following lines into your browser's address bar:
Yes Sir, you are right. We are omnipotent and created in the image of the creator. But "Free Will", what is that? How can a somebody who is a part of the Universe which is a Holographic 3 D projection have a "Free Will" ? And if you believe that God created this world then surely the Good, the Bad, the Lust..etc. Every thing is his creation. Or God has limited powers?
If Ramana Maharshi offends you then maybe you can read "The Tao of Physics" by Fritjof Capra. Best of Luck to you Sir.
@user03625 And why is it that you think this way? What do you consider mathematical training? If I have to be a theoretical or nuclear physicist, then I guess you are correct.
@shasha1873 My point exactly. Let me ask you this: How many points are on a line? Then tell me how many points are on a plane? We know that there are infinitely more points on the plane then on the line. How many numbers are in (0,1),how many numbers are in IN and how many numbers are in IR. See my point? Two 'infinites' can be compared and one is bigger than the other, so there for the question: How big is the infinite? It's not a briliant question but not a stupid one also.
@user03625 Not to butt in, but I always saw cardinality as more of a fact about pairings than about largeness, I mean, whenever you deal with something countable the largeness and pairings (i.e. 1-1 correspondence) are consistent, but when you get into uncountable sets you see that the ability to pair and size are two different concepts. I feel largeness is an abuse in language and see cardinality more as a measure of density.
@TwistedLemniscate Ok, then take the geometrical example of the line and the plane where you can find the same density (IR) but the size is clearly different because the plane could include the line but the line could not include the plane. The double inclusion is not satisfied there for the 2 'infinites' are not equal. Thanks for the density remark, it's clever.
I have mathematical education, and I'm just going to say here that it is, in actuality, a stupid question. Not sure about shasha1873's hyperbole, of course.
The comments here are based on the erroneous idea that we are the body. But are we the body? Then, when we are dead why dont our kin folk keep it in the house. Why does the body lie inert and still. Obviously that something that was in the body has left it. What has left the body is called sometimes refered to as the "Soul", "Jiva", or "Atman" among other names. And what exactly is this "Jiva" ? If you want to find out more on this i suggest you study the Teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi.
@ramanasei I do not think so my friend, I do not need no preacher man to tell me things! The teachings of Sri Ramana is maybe good for you, but to me it can be evil. It's like I already said. We are all ominipotent, but than again created in the image of the creator and all our acts are based on a free choice. Good luck to you sir, and God bless us all!
@brightingsky2009 You're on a math video speaking of omnipotence, though omnipotence and omniscience are both easily refuted by math. The only way to ignore the self-defeating omnis is to never mention them again.
@ramanasei There's also the factor that it would start to smell and be a source for disease. I'd say that's the main reason not to keep dead bodies in your house.
concept of infinity was of indians..... they use to call this "anant" means endless......george cantor lift this concept from india and shown this to western mathematicians and they were amazed..... but cantor was not the original thinker of infinity.....
@TwistedLemniscate The Isha Upanishad of the Yajurveda (4th century BC) states that "if you remove a part from infinity or add a part to infinity, still what remains is infinity"... india was very advanced in mathematics . even taylor series was copied from madhav of keral school of mathematics and now known as madhav taylor series. and u already know about the history of zero.....
I love the beauty of mathematics, the coherence and the logic and above all the fact that it makes sense this is why I became a mathematician :) This is an interesting documentary :0 ) Let's see what else is in it :)
Harmony (or mathematics), which is a science and an art, is a human invention in view of abstracting laws. But one must be careful, for that is precisely where lays a subtle adjustment, which looks unimportant, yet the consequences of which are far reaching downstream. The Swiss know it well, the source of the Rhone and of the Rhine are relatively close by, but downstream it's a whole other story. One must not mistake the source! beingandquirkiness.blogspot
I doubt we would ever figure out the big picture. Literally the big picture is bigger than we can comprehend since we are merely products of it. We can say that there is something more, which they might be, but then that something is also just a product of something else since for it to exist it should have an origin. At the big bang, what banged? There must be something to bang that had a origin. Ecch, too much thinking. Im going to coffee and let the universe sort itself out.
there is no god but allah and mohammed is his messenger. o people of book do u not see that is it came to moses so it came to jesus then to mohammed . dont be dispersed as people of past have done in ignorance . no body says not to use ur mind. its ur best weapon against falsehood . see things as being unbiased, compare the religions with sceince and ur understanding and inshallah allah will guide u to prosperity. dont be ignorant as we all are not perfect we have limited understanding of things
@RAJAHFAHAD You muslims always think that Islam is the only true in the world! You people always kick down others that have a different opinion! Judge other people shameless with your ignorant hate. I'am realy sick of it, because I have read the quoran and that book do not say those horrible things about free spirit people.
Read your book again and again boy, and think about the things you have said.
@Thundralight Men talk about the divine freedom, but do they understand themselves? Doubtless God is free. Yet He can do wrong. In His work He cannot transcend the boundary of right and
truth. The idea of a God that might do wrong is monstrous. Men does't understand themselves when they talk about the Divine freedom? For whether God is free or not depends, altogether on the meaning which we attach to the term freedom. Because every act of men is based on a free choice!
@brightingsky2009 God does not do wrong. Yes men have a choice but many choose to do wrong and become addicted to their lusts and them become enslaved to that with they lust after.
@brightingsky2009 "Because every act of men is based on a free choice!"
And by Coway's Freewill theorem (of which all three axioms are supported by quantum mechanics [FIN was a late comer]) that means that each of the individual particles that form us must also have freewill.
@placebo4yo Bible thumpers raided scientific communities with torches and swords for many years, so the hostility is still alive in the minds of historians who have not forgotten...
we can not grasp the infinite with the mind. is as close to the sun to understand the heart that beats inside. It is very dangerous that way if you are not 'ready.
The mind is not enough. We can approach infinity but never understand how big
God is the keeper of all knowledge, and His Christ.
The bible said that by asking Jesus into your heart, and because in Him is the well of all knowledge, I deduct that you have it as well. Is just given to you as you need it, and with prudence.

Dont be silly. Saying africans & Arabs created math, i mean how many days did god work & how many days was it before he rested. Math was every place & was used for everything.
@RazaAli33 i wonder why !!!! ... but no matter how proud you are Arabs were and still are classless uneducated people ... their environment made sure of that in the past and their religion now ... good luck
@oriocoookie just to let you know i am not an arab, and im pretty sure that arabs dont need your filthy luck u can keep it to ur self ur gona need it, and shouldnt you be doing something else like banging ur mom, well that what you all hypocrites do right. now if ull excuse me i would like to end this convo as i am not intrested in interacting with haters who no nothing of there sroundings. so shooo dogy XD
@RazaAli33 right .. you are a paki or something close to it ... whichever i dont care ... the facts dont change .. and there is no hate is telling them ... the only hate comes from idiots like you who feel a little inferior to the rest ... good luck getting away from your dad who is probably trying to bang you right as i write this ...
@RazaAli33 hahaha ... get your dad dick out of your sorry mouth ... find something more creative to say ... but then again pakii as soooo slow mentally ...
nonesense! Mathematics has been around in India, Egypt, China, Greece and Persia. Arabs of Arabia had little to do with mathes. Algebra, was the work of a Persian mathematician called khwarizmi. I refer you to Ibn Khaldun Tunisian historian. he writes: "... Arabs dominate only of the plains, because they are, by their savage nature, people of pillage and corruption. They pillage everything that they can take without fighting or taking risks, then flee to their refuge in the wilderness,"
Sure they can. I merely stated how things were from the eyes of a Tunisian historian and thinker 700 years ago. There is no reason that Arabs, as well as many other people including yourself could not educate yourselves. After we are all genetically human. The problem starts when we attempt to politicize science, maths or philosophy and attribute greatness with a tribe, race, or a nation. Of course, my intention by giving the reference was not to attract the racist, but state the facts.
@Busticate who ever said that then was a witness (not the only one) .. the fact is that although we are genetically the same (we interbreed) we are not culturally the same ... it is a fact that certain culture are more apt to produce progres in certain areas than others .. arabic / muslim is not one of them ... history is proof enough. as far as racism goes pointing out facts is not racist .. trying to stifle opinion by "politically correct" views is racist .. are you politically correct?
@oriocoookie- The term Arab encompasses many nations (Syria, Egypt,...) which became Arabs following the Arabian Islamic conquest. Today most of their traditions and customs are shaped around Islam as Europe was and perhaps it still is around Christianity. In my opinion religion damages more than it benefits man and on that basis I think its is essential for Arabs to detach themselves from religion as Europe once did not long ago and must maintain course or will fall back into the DAs again.
(cont...) But I agree with you that facts must be stated as they are, as it is only through facing reality that one can contemplate fundamental change. But its important for you to understand that speculating that all Arabs are uneducated or that they are unable to become one, is not a fact but an opinion. And opinions that are not factual are either politically charged or due to ones ignorance. We are all ignorant at one time or another. Hence, my comment. Peace!
@Busticate the thread of your argument is correct .. i however disagree with one thing ... the fact that arab culture has not ever succeeded in science or in many other things is not an opinion but an observation .... some would say that the christian element in arab occupied countries made all the difference ... it is an observation of a fact which you can yourself verify by looking at Arabs before islam and after islam .... of course there are individual exceptions .. we are human after all..
@oriocoookie - May I suggest that you Google 'Arab Scientists' first. You'll see that your observations are not exactly factual. But if you are specifically referring to Arabia, then perhaps. nonetheless, they brought with them the work of Egyptians, Greeks, Indian and Persians to Europe and revolutionized west. Much of this work was painstakingly translated, preserved by Persians and kept in Iran's libraries or created later in Baghdad (a then Iranian city) that became a hub for thinkers.
@Busticate i will google it .. but if you are suggesting that Muslims maintained the Greek mathematics and whatever Greek texts they could find during the dark ages of christians fanatisism by the church then you are more or less right .... don forget the byzantines though (Greek mostly) who did the same and after the conquest of Cosntantinople all these texts went to the west aong with scholars .. thus starting the renessance
Not only preserved, but added to it significantly. Also Google Persian Scientists as the best names belong to them. As for the Byzantines, they had a great deal of interactions with the Persians including wars. It was these wars that weakened both countries to the point that Arabs of Arabia then invaded and conquered Persia. Byzantines came to Persian rescue but they were quite vulnerable themselves. They too lost great chunks of their empire. But science continued in west.
@Busticate after googling it (and without looking at every one mentinoed) i came to the conclusion that no significant additions were made ... your version of history is interesting one .. can you name a persian or arab mathematician that made a significant contributiuons ot anything on the scale of lets say eratosthenes .. not euclid
You are kidding me! well here are a few. Khwarazmi the father of Algebra, Farabi Known as "Second Teacher" after Aristotle, Abu Rayhan Biruni, Avicenna, Razi first physician to distinguish smallpox and measles, Nasr Mansur known for discovering the sine law, Kashi and his work on the law of cosines, Buzjani established the trigonometric identities, Birjandi on Earth's rotation, khayyam, etc... all Persian.
But its not your fault. what they teach you at school is politics, not science.
...(cont) belittling the work of non-western scientist and thinkers only shows what narrow perspective you have which is directly linked to literacy. May I suggest that you try to put your prejudices aside as learning and building on one another's ideas has been a long scientific tradition. This is not a body building or male genitalia contest. The Persian legacy is not something that you or anyone in your position can eradicate from history.
@Busticate well i wonder why you get upsetr .. i only asked so i can learn ... you seem to have a chip on your shoulder .. in any case law of cosines and sines was known to ancient egyptians and was formalized by greeks ... let me know (ie some reference to read) on Khwarazmi and Farabi
I suggest that you do your own research. It is frustrating because, you expect me to justify history of science and math when non-westerns are involved. Yet you easily accept Pythagorus theorem to belong to a man that lived 2500 years ago and for all we know the proof was done by the chinese dating back to a time possibly before Pythagorus was even born. In any case, like I said before thinkers belong to one family, ignorant and politicians to another. ......
(cont). The former is in business of enlightenment, while the latter in the business of exploiting and enslaving fellow human beings. The reason I started this discussion was to persuade you to view others fairly. I am unable to change anyone's outlook, if they only pretend to be listening, but constantly attempting to discredit or belittle other contributions.
@Busticate you have serious issues to solve and i am not a psychologist ... the facts are what they are ... .. doubting and guessing where pythagoras got his proofs when all evidence and writings state it clearly makes you an ignorant prejudiced person with no rational thinking skills .... face it life and individual thought in eastern civilizations is worth very little ... their contribution to science negligible by any standards .... especially when you consider their superior populations
@Busticate so until you have serious arguments or some evidence ... no need to get into these discussions .... read an astrology chart (persian and egyptian contributioins to science :P )
@hoiiooiiooiiooiiooii arabs did took it over but the explained the concept of decimal points and how trigonometry works, and i know the knowledge of number existed before the islam (i.e. Egypt) arab took the info from indians and greek and made it much easier but clever, and invented complete new maths which is still being used today,
Georg Cantor thought god was talking to him but didn't realize that he discovered fractals which are the geometry of nature and the universe & it ultimately killed him. How's that for death by irony?

If my guess is wrong, no issues here.

So please, run alone to discuss the important matters and leave us unenlightened primal apes to our stupid idiotic documentary.

@pg955203
Also, saying that a man who hallucinated the "voice of God" for his whole life was driven mad by maths is... odd.

How big is infinity? That must be the most stupid question on the face of the planet.
shasha1873 5 months ago
@shasha1873 Not quite. You clearly don't have mathematical training.
user03625 5 months ago
@user03625 And why is it that you think this way? What do you consider mathematical training? If I have to be a theoretical or nuclear physicist, then I guess you are correct.
shasha1873 5 months ago
@shasha1873 My point exactly. Let me ask you this: How many points are on a line? Then tell me how many points are on a plane? We know that there are infinitely more points on the plane then on the line. How many numbers are in (0,1),how many numbers are in IN and how many numbers are in IR. See my point? Two 'infinites' can be compared and one is bigger than the other, so there for the question: How big is the infinite? It's not a briliant question but not a stupid one also.
user03625 5 months ago
@user03625 Not to butt in, but I always saw cardinality as more of a fact about pairings than about largeness, I mean, whenever you deal with something countable the largeness and pairings (i.e. 1-1 correspondence) are consistent, but when you get into uncountable sets you see that the ability to pair and size are two different concepts. I feel largeness is an abuse in language and see cardinality more as a measure of density.
TwistedLemniscate 5 months ago
@TwistedLemniscate Ok, then take the geometrical example of the line and the plane where you can find the same density (IR) but the size is clearly different because the plane could include the line but the line could not include the plane. The double inclusion is not satisfied there for the 2 'infinites' are not equal. Thanks for the density remark, it's clever.

Does it even make sense? And, most importantly, what do you do with that information?

Ok, so let's say that you know how big is infinity. How do you wrap your human mind around that?
We cannot.

Busticate 6 months ago
@Busticate sooooo well put ... but then again you can read and educate yourself ... arabs cant
oriocoookie 6 months ago
Sure they can. I merely stated how things were from the eyes of a Tunisian historian and thinker 700 years ago. There is no reason that Arabs, as well as many other people including yourself could not educate yourselves. After we are all genetically human. The problem starts when we attempt to politicize science, maths or philosophy and attribute greatness with a tribe, race, or a nation. Of course, my intention by giving the reference was not to attract the racist, but state the facts.
Busticate 6 months ago
@Busticate who ever said that then was a witness (not the only one) .. the fact is that although we are genetically the same (we interbreed) we are not culturally the same ... it is a fact that certain culture are more apt to produce progres in certain areas than others .. arabic / muslim is not one of them ... history is proof enough. as far as racism goes pointing out facts is not racist .. trying to stifle opinion by "politically correct" views is racist .. are you politically correct?
oriocoookie 6 months ago
@oriocoookie- The term Arab encompasses many nations (Syria, Egypt,...) which became Arabs following the Arabian Islamic conquest. Today most of their traditions and customs are shaped around Islam as Europe was and perhaps it still is around Christianity. In my opinion religion damages more than it benefits man and on that basis I think its is essential for Arabs to detach themselves from religion as Europe once did not long ago and must maintain course or will fall back into the DAs again.
Busticate 6 months ago
(cont...) But I agree with you that facts must be stated as they are, as it is only through facing reality that one can contemplate fundamental change. But its important for you to understand that speculating that all Arabs are uneducated or that they are unable to become one, is not a fact but an opinion. And opinions that are not factual are either politically charged or due to ones ignorance. We are all ignorant at one time or another. Hence, my comment. Peace!
Busticate 6 months ago
@Busticate the thread of your argument is correct .. i however disagree with one thing ... the fact that arab culture has not ever succeeded in science or in many other things is not an opinion but an observation .... some would say that the christian element in arab occupied countries made all the difference ... it is an observation of a fact which you can yourself verify by looking at Arabs before islam and after islam .... of course there are individual exceptions .. we are human after all..
oriocoookie 6 months ago
@oriocoookie - May I suggest that you Google 'Arab Scientists' first. You'll see that your observations are not exactly factual. But if you are specifically referring to Arabia, then perhaps. nonetheless, they brought with them the work of Egyptians, Greeks, Indian and Persians to Europe and revolutionized west. Much of this work was painstakingly translated, preserved by Persians and kept in Iran's libraries or created later in Baghdad (a then Iranian city) that became a hub for thinkers.
Busticate 6 months ago
@Busticate i will google it .. but if you are suggesting that Muslims maintained the Greek mathematics and whatever Greek texts they could find during the dark ages of christians fanatisism by the church then you are more or less right .... don forget the byzantines though (Greek mostly) who did the same and after the conquest of Cosntantinople all these texts went to the west aong with scholars .. thus starting the renessance
oriocoookie 6 months ago
Not only preserved, but added to it significantly. Also Google Persian Scientists as the best names belong to them. As for the Byzantines, they had a great deal of interactions with the Persians including wars. It was these wars that weakened both countries to the point that Arabs of Arabia then invaded and conquered Persia. Byzantines came to Persian rescue but they were quite vulnerable themselves. They too lost great chunks of their empire. But science continued in west.
Busticate 6 months ago
@Busticate after googling it (and without looking at every one mentinoed) i came to the conclusion that no significant additions were made ... your version of history is interesting one .. can you name a persian or arab mathematician that made a significant contributiuons ot anything on the scale of lets say eratosthenes .. not euclid
oriocoookie 6 months ago
You are kidding me! well here are a few. Khwarazmi the father of Algebra, Farabi Known as "Second Teacher" after Aristotle, Abu Rayhan Biruni, Avicenna, Razi first physician to distinguish smallpox and measles, Nasr Mansur known for discovering the sine law, Kashi and his work on the law of cosines, Buzjani established the trigonometric identities, Birjandi on Earth's rotation, khayyam, etc... all Persian.
But its not your fault. what they teach you at school is politics, not science.
Busticate 6 months ago
...(cont) belittling the work of non-western scientist and thinkers only shows what narrow perspective you have which is directly linked to literacy. May I suggest that you try to put your prejudices aside as learning and building on one another's ideas has been a long scientific tradition. This is not a body building or male genitalia contest. The Persian legacy is not something that you or anyone in your position can eradicate from history.
Busticate 6 months ago
@Busticate well i wonder why you get upsetr .. i only asked so i can learn ... you seem to have a chip on your shoulder .. in any case law of cosines and sines was known to ancient egyptians and was formalized by greeks ... let me know (ie some reference to read) on Khwarazmi and Farabi
oriocoookie 6 months ago
I suggest that you do your own research. It is frustrating because, you expect me to justify history of science and math when non-westerns are involved. Yet you easily accept Pythagorus theorem to belong to a man that lived 2500 years ago and for all we know the proof was done by the chinese dating back to a time possibly before Pythagorus was even born. In any case, like I said before thinkers belong to one family, ignorant and politicians to another. ......
Busticate 6 months ago
Busticate 6 months ago
@Busticate you have serious issues to solve and i am not a psychologist ... the facts are what they are ... .. doubting and guessing where pythagoras got his proofs when all evidence and writings state it clearly makes you an ignorant prejudiced person with no rational thinking skills .... face it life and individual thought in eastern civilizations is worth very little ... their contribution to science negligible by any standards .... especially when you consider their superior populations
