I think the power was being reduced at that point to either slow down or reduce the climb rate.

@MusicLover11325 airplanes aren't suppposed to idle their engines till they want to descend and they're on approach to the destination airport (in this case JFK). idle means to bring the power all the way.

my first flight was when i was like 5 or 6 from JFK to MIA to visit my aunt lol i dont remember much but it seem quik tht time lol but now i mostly go to EWR(much closer even though jfk wuz a 30-40 min drive EWR is an 15 min) to SC nd it is so fun now i cant wait agian cuz i am movin to fl nd gotta take a plane woot!!

Hey, was this your first flight? I took my first flight from San Jose to Chicago a few years ago. I would rather have my seat mate talk with me, so don't listen to the negative comments! My seatmate and I talked nearly the whole way which took my focus off of my fear which was great!
