@dylanhelmer it IS a JET engine!! this is a turboprop jet engine, the 737 a320 etc use a turbofan, but both of them are jets. Jet engine is a generic name for gas turbines used on aircraft. Both have similar functions, but one turns a propeller, the other turns a fan.

Correction: it's a turboprop engine, mechanically related to jet engine, but one has a propeller, the other doesn't. See Wikipedia.
