  • for which console is this game?

  • @robertolippi1 Gamecube. I had this game. It was money well spent.

  • I used to play this so much in high school/college, we'd be drunk at like 3 am playing this lol

  • best game ever

  • monkey ball 2

  • Baby has the slowest one

  • you cheat pausing cheter

  • The game has it built in - it's more of exploiting a design flaw in the game - pausing the game should allow the angle indicator and stuff to still tick by.

  • i loved it when he said "Turkey!" :3

  • 10 people got flunged by gongon's crap.

  • lame

  • do u need a play station to play this game?

  • This is on both the Gamecube and Playstation 2.

  • on your 4th frame, the perfect hit!!!

  • From 4:30 - 4:32, that one pin on the right was doing some weird stuff.

  • At around 2:10. You ALMOST had a Ten Back.

  • Ten back? What's that?

  • @ulillillia A Ten Back is when you bowl a strike and all ten pins are not on the pin deck before the sweeper does its job.

  • it's a rare occasion when the the ball stands back up when it had already been knocked down, you call it a "back" and then whatever number pin that it happens to in front of back.

  • @ulillillia It means like 10 pins in the pit.

  • Using a flaw in the game design to give yourself an advantage that the game designers did not intend for you to have is akin to cheating. You're just arguing semantics by saying that it isn't cheating. The fact remains that you removed a great deal of the challenge that the game is supposed to have. Enjoy your hallow victory I guess.

  • try bowling a perfect game without pausing :)

  • I consider this cheating..

  • It's exploiting a design flaw in the game.

  • @torfsstijn cheating is when you break a rule of the game, he did not break any rules. he is just using a design flaw to his advantage

  • @Austin101123

No matter how you describe it, it's cheating to me!

  • what? but... i just proved to you how this isnt cheating in such a simple way that a KINDERGARTENER could understand! how on earth do you think this is still cheating? or are you just stuborn and you won't admit your wrong... STUBORN well, or RETARTED

  • Wasn't this released as Monkey Ball Deluxe?

  • best game ever. Logged hours and hours on SMB 2

  • Interesting video, since I always wondered if there was anything extra that would occur at the end if one bowled a 300(and which I've never done). Sadly, it didn't seem like anything different than what you would normally see if you bowled less than 300.

I think I would've been more impressed if you didn't use the pause trick, but hey I do also understand your point about this being part of the game too. Enjoyed the rest of your Monkey Ball videos too, as a big fan of that series!

  • ummm wooooow that is amazing

  • All hail QQQQQQ.

  • PAUSER CHEATER

  • It's, technically, not cheating. It's part of the game's design, a weakness in the game's design. Cheating would be using something like a Gameshark or pressing a series of buttons to unlock something otherwise completely inaccessible. Would you call using the glide-hop in Bubsy to take otherwise impossible shortcuts through levels cheating? Level 8 near the beginning is a good example - with that door up there (use an UFO or cheese wheel), you can zip to the end... in about 5 seconds!

  • My brother almost bowled a perfect game using Baby and without pausing once. He spared instead of striking on the 9th inning, and it went downhill from there.

  • @LuigiTailsPrower LMAO!!!

  • i once got all strikes when i was playing this game

  • I actually got a 300pt game in Monkey Bowling 2, without using this trick.

I use GonGon, send him to the far right of the screen and I got the timing down so I could always get the perfect angle.

  • Actually yeah, you wouldn't be able to pause if you were really competing in this.

  • This Awsome Video Was Posted On My Birthday! What A Great Birthday Present!

    Thanks!

  • This video was posted more than 2 years ago, around 25 or so months....

  • fail

  • Not really CHEATING, but, more like a cheap trick. But, hey, I say whatever works. XP

  • It's a design flaw with the game. Pausing, to work around human reaction time limitations, is often a design weakness that I see and frequently utilize.

  • Yeah. I just go by trial and error. XP

  • Happy 2nd anniversary of this video, ulillillia! Your videos are pretty awesome.

  • lol it kinda gets repetitive...

  • wow. :D

  • no its not cheating hes just cleverly using that game against the game i guess lol good job.

  • It's a design flaw with the game that I'm exploiting. You don't need to enter cheat codes or use Action Replay to do it....

  • ... and how would you explain the 13,000 points in Monkey Target 2, complete with a video to prove it? I've got a case for 15,000 points now, and no pausing was needed, though it did take several tries.

  • well thats different

  • The point of this video was to show what happens when you get a perfect (and also to show a bug that is present - you shouldn't be able to pause the game when timing like this is needed).

  • Even without pausing, I'm quite skilled at it. Haven't you seen "SMB1 Expert Course"? The only time I needed to pause was floor 36. The rest I didn't pause for at all and I rarely missed the floors. Some I struggled a bit with, but no where near as badly as floor 36.

  • now how bout you take it to the real lanes and bowl a 300

  • Haha. this game looks awesome! any bowling fans should search for "scott 300 game" and check out my video! tell me what ya think! cool vid dude:D

  • New character "God Gongon"

  • no a 299 is when 11 strikes then 9 pins. a 298 is 11 strikes then 8 pins

  • i bowled a 300 and like 4 299 games with gongon but i didnt cheat. i use full power and all the curve.

  • Isn't a 299 impossible? Get 11 consecutive strikes at the start, then get 9 pins on the last. Wouldn't this be 298? I'm not exactly certain how scoring in bowling works....

  • No, it is definitly not impossible, I bowl a lot in real life, nad I know the scoring, and you can get 299 (11 strikes in a row to start, then 9 on your last ball)

  • Well, there are some things I don't know. I haven't seen it on SMB2 yet so I don't know if it exists....

  • lol u only got rank 4

  • i bowled a perfect game with gongon before

  • cheater =]

  • Pausing is a very helpful tool. Having trouble with a very difficult level or something? Pause frequently to identify your situation and plan your strategy accordingly. I often get around 8 of these for each second of actual game play. I've been doing it with games as far back as the NES. I don't know about the Atari 2600 though....

  • ...And i thought i was good...

  • why was your name QQQQQQQQQQ?

  • I hate name entry. I just pick my favorite letter and copy it over, since it's faster. For games where it reverts back to the beginning (A), I just use all A's instead.

  • As I watch your videos and read your comments, I have come up with one conclusion: You are amazingly talented in Math.

Nice video, by the way. ^_^

  • I've got numerous shortcuts for basic math on my site and a very interesting trick with multiplication. I'm numerically oriented and thus, I see numerical values in things others don't think of as having numerical values. The word "number" has lots - 6 being the big one, followed by 14, 21, 13, 2, 5, then 18 (after alphabet placement), and more towards compatibility toward each of these letters. I spot spelling mistakes by numbers not matching. Hypercount is also handy to have....

  • DANG!!!YOU'RE GOOD!!!

  • I used pausing which works around human limitations. 50 ms reaction time vs 280. Timing precision to 10 ms instead of 40. That's a huge difference and could easily explain it. To do better than me, get a perfect without pausing or using any cheats. When I did this, I didn't have cheats enabled but I did pause a lot. Floor 36 is SMB1's expert course is where I need pausing the most.

  • that looks ez the ball doesn't even cruve.

  • It actually does, but with what little I have, you don't notice it much. The offset is only 1/4 the ball's width (or 0.25 meters as the game marks it as), very slight. The more power I use, the more spin I need, typically around 20 to 25% of the way around.

  • could you put up a video of you playing the soccer minigame against the computer on its highest difficulty? i always whoop my friends in soccer but then the comp can kick my butt easy.

  • I very rarely play the soccer minigame. I have the most difficulty with the tennis game, even at the easiest level and with pausing to help. The master stages without pausing are much easier than the tennis game.

  • i find monkey boat minigame the hardest minigame in the history of minigames...

  • I don't have much problem with it. You just alternate L1 and R1 switching around once every 800 to 1000 ms (0.8 to 1 second). Turning I find difficult, if you want to turn left, press R1 repeatedly. I think this has something to do with the law of conservation of angular momentum (pushing the paddle toward the back of the boat (which is what the monkeys do) on the right causes the boat to turn left. I'm only 40% certain so don't put much faith in my answer (research it first).

  • This series of games are the best EVA!

  • Achievement Unlocked?

  • dude my friend on day told me she likes all of the monkey balls. lol.

  • basically...

    nothing happens..?

  • i GOTTA try this

  • 300?

    GonGon?

    THIS.

    IS.

    MONKEYBAAALL!

  • I use GonGon too.

  • I like him mostly because of the high strike rate he has. In one case, however, I've had a pin get so far from the starting area, 1/4 to 1/3 of the way to the start, though I've had plenty of pins getting beyond the range of that pin-resetting/removing device.

  • why do u keep pausing it?

  • It's a way to work around human limitations. Instead of 280 ms reaction time and a 50 ms margin of error, pausing cuts the reaction time to barely 50 ms and the margin of error to a measely 10 ms. This makes getting a perfect almost effortless. This pausing trick works for pretty much any game and I've used it for years.

  • oo ok i was just wonderin cuz i used to play that game all the time on my ps2 but it broke so now im consoless...lol

  • This pausing trick works with pretty much every game, including the very difficult Blaster Master and those boss fights (especially the later ones). It's not as worthy in 3D games since they're significantly easier and the need is less, but with it, I've completed Casinopolis in Sonic DX in barely 2 1/2 minutes....

  • QQQQQQ

  • I did it legitimately. Check out my videos to see it done right. Good job though, it's still not easy to do, I just have no life.

  • I did it legitimately. Check out my videos to see. Good job though, it's still not easy to do, i just have no life.

  • He did it legitimatley too. No cheats are being used, the only thing he did was cut out the reliance of luck with his technique.

  • cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The intent of this is to show what it's like to get a perfect and what happens.

  • oh sorry, failed that read that part ^_^;;

kinda got the wrong idea from the guy screaming "FOUR PERFECT GAMES!!!! AMAZING!!!"

cuz it's not that amazing when you do it like that :P

anyway, hurray we know it says "perfect", ty ^_^

  • FOUR PERFECT GAMES!!! AMAZING!!!

  • your such a cheater, you have to pause it to get it in the right spot
