Regardless of what these commentators say,I do eat (saturated fat) but too much does raise LDL(the bad cholesterol). Doctors in emergency wards will attest that Hi LDL is a common theme to heart attack. The reason certain societies eat higher intake of saturated fat with low level of heart disease is because there diet consists of foods/drinks that prevent LDL from being oxidized.Alcohol especialy Red Wine keeps LDL in check, fruits & vegetables High in Vitamin C also prevents LDL oxidization.
This reminds me of Dan Akroyd on Saturday Night Live saying, "Jane, you ignorant slut!" No offense, that's just what she reminds me of.
Check out Barry Groves on Vimeo. He gives a 36 minute talk that show saturated fats are the very best food!
Animal fats make up part of the structure of your brain. Eat a lot of grains, little fat and you get ... attention deficit disorder. Plus diabetes, cavities and heart disease.
It's sugar, corn syrup and grains that cause heart disease.
HYDROGENATED TRANS OR HYDROGENATED NON TRANS FATTY ACIDS BOTH CAUSES MORE HEART ATTACKS , HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND CANCER MORE THAN NATURAL BUTTER MILK EGGS AND RED MEAT PUT TOGETHER.
THis is ridiculous. I eat butter, whole milk, meat with the fat and its bone marrow, and lots of eggs (with yolks! not just the whites) and oddly enough, my doctor took some tests on my overall health and cholesterol was the best he had seen in years.
Canola oil is heart healthy? Interesting. It's rancid, disgustingly high in omega 6 which is pro-inflammatory. Vegetable oils will give you heart disease. So sick of hearing this crap about saturated fats yet no one can provide any eveidence to prove what they say.

They said: transfats not guilty as charged! in 1994 they went after movie popcorn! they forced them to stop using coconut oil and change to soybean oil.. Most Fries u buy in shops r cooked in vegetable oil/soy or sunflowers/. this Oil r not ok for cooking!they go Rancid!lard, coconut oil, beef fat, cacao oil r the best cooking fats! Rich in Saturated Fats that r stable at high temperatures! Most meat in fast food places r not real! its the worst meat mixed with soya and other crap ingredients!!
Canola oil!!! the worst oil what so ever!! she is calling it a healthy choice!! Aha!! Right!!!!! Plus sweetheart ever checked the extra virgin olive oil and the pork chop or any other so called fatty meat? well do it! there is more saturated fat in 100gr if olive oil then in 100gr of meat!! this how mad your advice is!! Saturated fat is in any natural food that contains fat!! Thanks!!
@mokugin81 You sir, are a moron. Do you know how to read labels? Animal based products contain much higher percentages of saturated fats than vegtable based products. Are you sure you're not a PR rep for the cattle industry?

gosh!! another one telling us the big lie about saturated fats!!! u girl! do a better research about fats!! if nature puts saturated fats in natural foods... its becouse she wants us to it it!!! If the fat is man made then yes we need to avoid it!!! Use Common Sense!! Thanks
@jreily88 Yes there is, fat slobs eating meat high in saturated fat for every meal have a much higher risk of heart disease than someone that limits their intake of meats and eats a balanced diet full of fruit and vegetables.
Too much fat from bad sources like fast food or junk food is bad, we all know that. But what alot of people don't know is that saturated fat comes from very healthy sources as well, even in olive oil. It is a vital component of our bodies and is found in no better quality then in animal products and that has been proven consistently. Too much of anything is bad, even if it's fruits and vegetables because you are never getting enough of the nutrients that are ONLY found in meat.
@jreily88 The issue is, meats and the products derived from them contain much higher percentages of saturated fats then does, say olive oil. I believe in a balanced diet - the problem is people in today's society don't know when to draw the line on red meat, salt and fat of any type. Those uneducated in such things need to understand they have to stop eating that burger and fries 5 days a week, and saying things like there's no association between saturated fat and heart disease doesn't help!
very true. However, the body needs saturated fat to absorb omega 3s and vitamin d, among other nutrients. It is needed to help protect cell membranes as well as acting as a precursor to your hormones, along with cholesterol. You don't need an overabundance of it, but definitely more than what were told to eat, which I think is about 10% or less of your total caloric intake. Also, I agree that it's completely useless to get it from fast food, but there are natural sources.

Actually, Canola oil is recommended by the health authorities in my country (Singapore). Of course, only those from certain brands have this status.
