  • Is this a Decap, or some other make?

  • krass_gëbt_mÂl_bÉí_gO0gle:_geldeasy_ÊIñ_vøll_krass

  • this is fuckin retarted haha but cool though

  • i have the record.. all the sounds are played by the robots themselves as it is explained on the backsleeve.. the music was written on perforated sheets and and the robots perform it on REAL INSTRUMENTS. using Servo-motors and electrical relays (24 volts)

  • @gogolito : Thank you for your profound comment! I really hope that other users read this, and stop inventing wild theories about the robots, because :

    THEY REALLY PLAY THEIR INSTRUMENTS.

  • @gogolito that's impressive - pretty clever stuff.

  • Oh, and they are 50+ years old now.

  • Does the Saxophone acctually play?

  • Yes

  • I don't believe it! On the other hand, some other robot saxophones have been built.

  • the saxophone doesnt play, they are added for effect, i play sax and it would be very hard to get it to play itself lol

  • Acctually, at the Logos Foundation, they have an automated C melody Saxophone.

  • Thanks for this excellent video.

  • its just so funny how it sounds its so cheesy but its a catchy tune

  • Thanks! If you like this kind of music: The robots have recorded at least 3 albums, check "More information"

  • I wan't to see more from that orgen it plays real good

  • its such a cheesy bamba but i love it haha!

  • one day they are gonna excape those seats and... terminate the human race BUT FIRST LA BAMBA!

  • the blower is a little bit out of tune

  • I Think these instruments have the Vatterott MIDI system to automatize drums and an accordion. I know a guy in here in Germany who sells these instruments.

  • What is the imput that supplies the music inorder to make the robots play music? Paper rolls, cardboard book music, or some type of electronic system?

  • It's a mix of both, cardboard and electronics, as I understood the guide in the museum that day. Copy: pidgrobotsmusickraftwerk and paste in google search and you'll find more info

  • lol are they real men inside of them?

  • No, completely mechanical, and they do actually play the accordion and drums. I believe the "saxophone" is a tone generator.

  • I don't know, but it looks like kind of a rip-off of the Decap robot bands, which can use cardboard book music or MIDI. These latter instruments actually play a real accordion and drumset, but generally use an electric organ (tone generators) for the backing organ and solo (saxophone) voices.

  • Earlier Decap organs, which I frankly prefer, have art-deco facades displaying the drums and accordion (and fake saxophone), but no robots, and the foundational sound and solo voices (except accordion) are produced by real organ pipes.
