i have the record.. all the sounds are played by the robots themselves as it is explained on the backsleeve.. the music was written on perforated sheets and and the robots perform it on REAL INSTRUMENTS. using Servo-motors and electrical relays (24 volts)
@gogolito : Thank you for your profound comment! I really hope that other users read this, and stop inventing wild theories about the robots, because :
I Think these instruments have the Vatterott MIDI system to automatize drums and an accordion. I know a guy in here in Germany who sells these instruments.
What is the imput that supplies the music inorder to make the robots play music? Paper rolls, cardboard book music, or some type of electronic system?
It's a mix of both, cardboard and electronics, as I understood the guide in the museum that day. Copy: pidgrobotsmusickraftwerk and paste in google search and you'll find more info
I don't know, but it looks like kind of a rip-off of the Decap robot bands, which can use cardboard book music or MIDI. These latter instruments actually play a real accordion and drumset, but generally use an electric organ (tone generators) for the backing organ and solo (saxophone) voices.
Earlier Decap organs, which I frankly prefer, have art-deco facades displaying the drums and accordion (and fake saxophone), but no robots, and the foundational sound and solo voices (except accordion) are produced by real organ pipes.
Is this a Decap, or some other make?

lol are they real men inside of them?

No, completely mechanical, and they do actually play the accordion and drums. I believe the "saxophone" is a tone generator.
