you see bodies laying around in Vancouver everyday. its not exciting enough to take normal pictures of, so you have to use your creativity to make the pics look interesting.
As always, really informative and to the point! This guy is a naturally great teacher, with a very creative style. I always enjoy your lessons. Rock on!
not too clear on why you say this could not be done without a snoot - the flash was so close to the meter any light spill onto the street or "body" would have been negligible
eeh, these tutorials are good, but the quality is not always great. EG they had to dub him over in this video, because the sound guy didn't check the mic.
Still, these are good tutorials, and Bryan has good tips
I'm not hating on it at all. It;s just that every video he posts he uses time to plug when he could be using the time to show more examples or techniques. He taught Mark from Snap Factory so I guess since Mark does long videos on gear and techniques I expected Brian to do more.

great idea for a composition, its not about a dead body its how you make your frame and create an idea for you photos, i like your concepts Bryan thank you for your tips. you make photos enjoyable to look at, with a sense of humor.
You could also have held the flash on the other side of the meter and created a similar effect without the snoot, and that would have also lit up the meter a bit better and might have even made it stand out a bit better.
@Videodrome06 This is a post for creative photography; not for tired anti-american bashing. Don't people outside of the USA have enough problems to worry about?

A Good microphone, over modulated, still makes bad audio. Audio issues aside, this is a very cool idea. BP is a ham but such a great teacher.

Most photographers who watch are actually fairly experienced. Why not show more advanced concepts and leave out the book plugs.
