If you go outside Whiterun and follow the path, youll find the stables where you can buy a horse for 1000 gold and you can also talk to a guy on a carriage that will take you to new cities like Solitude for 10-50 gold

Not sure if this was the latest video for Skyrim but for you but theirs an actual main storyline in the game that can be finished pretty quickly if you choose to do it that way. Everything else is basically side quests and Guild quests.

Hey Brad, dunno if you know yet, but when you disenchant stuff you learn that enchant on that item, then you can enchant other weapons with a similar enchant :D You should disenchant things you don't really need anymore, it increases your Enchanting skill really easily. :D

brad u can disenchant weapons to learn how to use that enchantment so your ancient nord battle ax of cold could be disenchanted to learn how to enchant the cold damage so if u get a better weapon u can enchant that with the cold damage
