I had to wear similar tape as well. It's for people who play the guitar, bass, stringed instruments, ect. In short it means that Tom has some form of mild tendinitis from playing the guitar and the tape helps him to play without worsening it.

I love how he drinks filling his cheeks and then has to swallow 3-4 times to empty his mouth. I drink that way too and used to think I was the only strange person to do that... Now I'm starting to think it may be a common trait among baby-faced (i.e. ''big-cheeked'') people. We just have a lot of room, so we feel compelled to fill it?.. ;) Idk, but to me not filling the cheeks just doesn't quench my thirst quite as well, it's just not the same. ;) I'd like to know what Tom's reason is...

The tape is probably for his nerves and/or muscles. It is very common for guitarists to get tendonitis and it can be pretty painful. The tape probably eased any pain he had.

But I went also to a concert here in the netherlands at the 23 feburary 2010 and i can't remember and it's also not on the photos i have that he already had blue tape on his arm

@MissFifyDevil It's a tape with kinda of.. naturals and vitamins and a special gel on it. It kinda prevents him for getting to tired and getting cramp in his arm. So no, he's not injured or suffering or something, it just helps him to hold out during the whole concert :)
