hi im the guy who played Mario in this commercial.since then ive been sitting in my house and rubbing penut butter all over my nude body exept for Friday and Saturday nights where i hire obese women to choke me while i touch myself and sit on my face. thank you for all the years of love and support!
@Random90sKid Not until Yamauchi-dono came over and read them the Riot Act. When he found out that Atari was going to bury the Famicon, he went berserk. He came to Atari and let them have it full-bore. After that, Nintendo grabbed their invention back, and, thus, the NES was born.
@kingbrandus111 Actually, Atari brought the 2600 down. Nintendo had to call their console as an "Entertainment System" due to the negative connotations of the words "Video Game" caused by Atari. Nintendo didn't even expect the NES to sell as much as it did.
Pac-Man (an all sequels) were clearly branded by Namco, tough they have been published on the 2600. Donkey Kong & Mario Bros. 80's arcade systems were branded by Nintendo, while on the 2600 they are branded by Atari...
what's going on, did Atari publish Mario Bros. on 2600, or did Nintendo do it?
Dude... got to 0:14 pause the video and look at the copyright info... This game is owned by Nintendo :) (Just figured that one out while watching the video again)
Atari bought the license for the game and then ported the game themselves to the machine. Donkey Kong was licensed to Coleco who published it for the colecovision and the 2600.
Back then, Nintendo didn't want to make home video games. They offered Atari the chance to market the NES in America and in the worst decision in the history of consumer electronics, Atari turned them down.
Whoa! The music is the exact theme to the old 60's TV show "Car 54, Where Are You?" only with new lyrics! Geez, they couyldn't even come up with a new song lol. I love the 'ol 2600 :).
Wow, That was actually a Very entertaining commercial! me and my friends gathered around the computer and laughed at luigi signign his little " mario where are you?" song.
You guys are tarted. he's wearing green and he's looking for Mario. hmm

I just played this on 2600 its an absolute pos, but thats the 5200 or 7800 version those graphics are too advanced for the VCS.

It's sort of funny when you think about it. The NES is what brought down the 2600.

I think the plumber in the commercial is just a regular plumber and not mario. He is probally taking a coffee break with Luigi.

I am confused:
Pac-Man (an all sequels) were clearly branded by Namco, tough they have been published on the 2600. Donkey Kong & Mario Bros. 80's arcade systems were branded by Nintendo, while on the 2600 they are branded by Atari...

Most likily not...The graphics that they show in that commercial are most likily Atari 5200 or Colecovision.
Third party publishers in the early 1980's had a tendancy to use the system with the best graphics.

If you watched the old Nick at Nite, you would probably recocnize the tune as a bastardized version of "Car 54 where are you?"

This is the Atari 5200 version shown in this commercial, the 2600 version of Mario Bros. was 50x more crappier, I know, I've played it.
The Atari 2600 was not able to pull out graphics like that.

This was the first home version of Mario Bros., not the NES like many people think.
