  • @AndanteLargo It sounds perfect to my Paraguayan ears! Thank you so much.

  • Bravo mister Kindgren!!!

  • Thank you so much! I am honored.

    Kind regards,

    Per-Olov

  • Oh gosh in the first 30 seconds you made my heart melt with with your subtle touches, thank you for your tender and magic interpretation.

  • I have problems with this piece at around 0:21..

  • I absolutely love this piece! Every single time I watch the video I get intense chills and the feeling of warmth and true happiness and peace. Thank you so much for posting this!

Tenia algunas dificultades tecnicas

  • in a true artistically appreciative society you would sell out stadiums. magnificently played my friend.

  • Iindiscutiblemente Barrios fue un genio latinoamericano.

  • Hi, I really like this interpretation....but it is REALLY slow....vals means waltz and I couldn't picture anyone dancing to this :)

  • It is opus 8 vals no.3...

    great sound!!!keep going, I am a fan...!!!

  • very nice...

  • Thank you! Appreciated!

    Per-Olov

  • bathe in the fountain of culture and you will simply be wet, you seem to be an amazing guitarist

  • God damn you are a WIZARD

  • I enjoyed the variety you employed.

  • I'll be honest my favorite interpretation of this piece is David Russel's. But I've never heard some one take this approach to this piece: the beginning starting slightly slower than expected with a feeling of a suffering lover, who drags his feet aimlessly to his next destination as a cloud of remorse and tears follows dragging the pace even more so to a state of morose. Wouldn't expect it coming from a vals, but then you reassured the nature of what a vals is in the more upbeat segments.

  • yo me and this guy are definatly making a power metal band

  • anyway this is op. 8 no. 3.....not op. 3 no. 8

  • I think I missed this one.

    Bow, Mr. Peo.

    Arise Sir PKO!

    Brilliant squire.

    HNY,

    Paul

  • Thanks Paul! Better late than never :-)

I hope you are doing good!? Will I ever see your ugly face here again and listen to your beautiful playing? :)

    Happy 2011 to you too!

    Love,

    Peo

  • I believe that this is one of your top five interpretations. It´s the one that I like most. And I like them all LOL!!!

    Finesse!!!

    Flawless!!!

    Chapeau Maestro.

    Greetings from Argentina.

  • Hola! Muchas gracias!

Saludos desde Suecia y Feliz Año Nuevo!

    Per

  • wow per its so beautiful !!

i like the way you play.

i think you are one of the best guitarists in the world!!!

  • It's a waltz indeed. And? Why it should be played like a lifeless backround music for dance? He plays it with feelings, it's so awesome!

Just check for example the Gavotte themes from Bach's 5th cello suite. Gavotte is a dance too, but the piece sounds too grandiose to be just a simple accompaniment to a dance.

P.S.: I'm the 300th who gave a thubs up for this video. This is Sparta! :)

  • This is one fine performance, Maestro and that you might be in that fountain sooner than you realize. So well played. Thank you for sharing...

  • Well played. How many version fo this exists because you're version is different from the one that Russell plays but it's similar to the one that Williams plays.

  • Me gusto mucho este tema felicidades :)

  • grate my frind

but i think its Vals No. 3 not 8

  • @adilzahrani yes Opus 8 no.3

  • Simplemente hermoso. Que bonita interpretación de barrios. Saludos, sigue tocando !! Gracias x compartir

  • Oh...what a breath of fresh air compared to some of the manic interpretations also found on Youtube. As someone said in another comment, this tempo and your knack for dynamics really gives it a Chopin-esque feel.

    Wonderful!!!

  • beautiful. You must be a concert performer?

  • He is the best !!

  • this sounds so natural

  • me imagino que da conciertos. Donde estudio?

  • great interpretation, slower is better is this one

    great tone too!

    ur da boss

    tens umas patas do caralho!

  • Peo! Friend, I've always favored your interpretation of this piece to any other, You understand the romantic sound... You inspired me to learn this piece quite some time ago, and soon I will be recording this one too

  • You never disappoint me :D 5 stars!!!!

  • I love your sound!! This is just great playing.

  • wooow!

  • this is great. i usually just listen to rap/hiphop. also in contemporary pop music, it's just much faster. i like this stuff though. I didn't realize people play a guitar like that - kind of a soft soulful expression. thank you Per-Olov.

  • Wow, That was sooo good! I really wish to hear La Catedral in that warm, yet classy style you got, I can guess it would be fantastic. You are the best!

  • great job, most people play it too fast but you do it just right. good job 5 stars

  • very hard to play and you did it with classe ! congrats i love it

  • wow love the interpretation - yeah puts Williams to shame maybe not but makes it sound all more human

  • i would love to see your interpretation of "la catedral"

  • @Najakelia Thats what I said! He wouldn't do it!

  • ¡¡Qué maravilla!! Esta música eleva el espíritu. Gracias por compartirla.

  • Muchas gracias Carmen.

    Per-olov

  • hi! per tout simplement sublime!! thank you very mutch!! michel from france

  • Hi there! Thank you Michel!

    Per-Olov from Sweden :)

  • you know the way you played this is very sexy and romantic..its a waltz so i can see a gorgeous couple dancing to this.absolutely beautiful!!!!make an album and i'll be the first to buy it!!!!thank you so much for posting this!!!

  • In my opinion, your version of this puts John Williams to shame. Love your playing and your original compositions.

  • ...it doesn't...

  • Yeah the third section is definitely the most difficult. Is Barrios anyone else's favorite composer or what?!

  • Beautiful playing...what a great sound.....Bravo!

  • You interpretation and sound are excelent

    Bravo!!!!

  • Hola. Muchas gracias. I play a Philippe Jean-Mairet. See per-olovkindgren (com) for more information.

    Saludos,

    Per-Olov

  • He is left handed lmao rofl looking for another beer!! oh he's wearing glasses!!

  • bravissimo!!!

  • A beautiful rendition of this piece. Wows by subtlety of shading and nuance rather than speed and muscularity of performance, especially the dreamy waltz theme.

  • All Peo's piece are like that, nice and slow and dreamy :)

  • No problem...no bad! This work it´s dificult; thank you for played.

  • I had the privilege of being a classical guitar student of one of Mangore's pupils in San Salvador back in the 70's. I remember him (Mangore's pupil, my teacher) playing this song. He used to play it like you do, same tempo and accents. Thanks for posting this video.

  • very nice

  • I think this song is played like i used to be how it must be played. John Williams and Li Ji here on youtube plays it way to fast like they are eating notes instead of playing music. Don't get me wrong, I respect there effort and playing for those songs but I think this man is one of the few who knows how to play it.

My guitar teacher thinks the same way and I'm glad he can really teach what music contents.

    Thumbs up for Pedro!

  • ye i totally agree , dont know wat JW version is all about but im sure this is wat mangore had in mind for this piece.

  • it IS a waltz!

  • Actually if you listen to the original tempo of the piece played by barrios himself on the 1929 recording, his tempo is very fast, williams plays far slower than intended by the composer. neverthe less the playing is still very articulate and very enjoyable. well done

  • SIR thank you for your interpretations. your phrasing and legatos are perfect. i am from latin america and believe me, you know the groove of the bass notes and the communication between the high voices and the lower notes. i am watching your videos...also your great tone and your control on speed are exellent...i am learning from you a lot...you are now and days my main influence...thank you very much...

  • Perfection is difficult to be achieved! You have achieved it, though, many times! Mistakes don't matter... You are admirable, as well as the piece of course! A great composure by a great composer and a great interpretation by a great guitarist! THANK YOU and BRAVISSIMO!!!

  • awesome the feeling is unbelievable best interpretation of this vals in my mind!!!!!

  • beautiful tune, beautiful performance! ; D

  • Peo, could you send to me notes this vals? I can find normal arrangment...

    Thank you.

    Simonas.

  • I guess you all just assumed his comment was an insult because of the language. But no, it's a compliment, just a poorly worded one.

  • you are the best of the web, lejos!!!

    greetings to chile

  • Hi Peo. Just moved from UK to Malaysia and now settled in home and can have time to play once more. I love your interpretation of this. It has so much more feeling that when played fast. This one I just have to learn.

  • Hi there Mikey!

Welcome to Malaysia. That is a big step!! Do you like it there?

Thank you for your comment. I hope you will play it a lot!

    Take care out there!

    Per-Olov

  • My family love it in Malaysia. Such friendly people and a great climate too. Just started learning this one today. Hope to have it nailed by Christmas haha!

  • Loved your performance

  • Thank you! Appreciated!!

    Kind regards,

    Per-Olov

  • Hey Peo: Maybe not perfect but still a beautiful effort. Btw, your Prelude E and I'm Sorry are excellent/wonderful pieces. Thanks for sharing your gift with us.

    God Bless,

    David

  • Hi Peo, today I'm practicing with you "playing"! How about, as you like it, posting a video with you playing "Julia Florida". I think it suits your style very well! Anyway great indeed, we (my family and I) like a lot your style! Maybe we'll get to know you on a tour, perhaps Italy as well!

  • Well done peo!! awesome!!!

  • very good interpretation at time just.

  • Hey Peo you should do Julia Florida.

  • Nice interpretation!!

  • It is a very good interpretation. Some professional guitarists play this waltz maybe too fast, we have not the time to hear it. This interpretation is slow, it pleasant to listen. I played this waltz faster but less faster than other guitarists. It is a waltz, where you could dance. This interpretation is nice but I think too slow.

  • you're awesome man, love everything you put on youtube.

  • definitely my favorite interpretation of the song, i love hearing the space in the melody.

  • Philomelodia you are wrong!. His interpretation is probably the best, listen again and you will agree with me. He ply with his soul!, excelent

  • This is not a lament. This is a waltz. He plays it like someone just died or something.

  • Take a look at John Williams performance

  • wouah, absolutely wonderfull !!

  • Some people are going to destroy me for saying this, but i dont care... PEO this version i so much better than the one david russel plays.. not saying his is bad.. but u can truly bring out the escense of every note u play.. almost made me cry of joy.. ur great guitarist, wish u could come to america and play

  • I agree, I grew up with Segovia and Williams, as well as Parkening....but now, it's Peo all the way!!! his version of this piece is just the right speed. Scott

  • yes its great but his name ist augustin barrios mangore and it ist the vals Nr3 op. 8 not nr 8 op 3 ;-)

  • Hi Per-Olov

This is my favourite barrios tune. Extremely well played. I play El sueno de la Munequita. I hope you play that one soon.

  • I love this melody. Great job as always!

  • im from paraguay and just make me really happy the you are doing this ....keep the good work my friend....Agustin Pio Barrios should be honored with what you doing.....

  • Hola! Thank oyu! I am happy for your kind comment!

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • Incredible musicianship here. This is such a refreshing interpretation...much more faithful to the waltz rhythm yet not rigid. This is exactly the balance I've been striving for in my own interpretation. Very well played. Bravo to you AndanteLargo, and keep the videos coming.

  • Thank you! I really appreciate your comment. I tried to make a Vals out of this but not all listeners like it...

    I am honored you do!

    Please keep listening!

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • Well played again! I'd really like to hear your interpretation of A. Barrios-Mangores la Catedral 3rd movement (allegro). Never played it? That's wonderful piece!

  • Thanks a lot! Yes I have played that 3rd movement a lot. I ended up havein pain in my left arm and decided to leave it for a while... I will try later again... I hope!

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • OK. I'll be waiting for video of that piece!

Ps: Have you written tabs or sheet music of I miss you -piece? I'd really like to have them.

  • Thank you!

Yes, please visit editionglobal(com) and make a search for Kindgren. it's there both as tab and sheet music.

I hope you will get it and play it!

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • I always enjoy your interpretations of guitar peices. I'm about to start this one myself so it's always helpful to see a good example of how it should sound. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • Thank you. Please keep listening.

Good luck with this beautiful piece!

    Per-Olov

  • Thank you for this interpretation.

A beautiful piece I'm working on now.

  • Thank you! How is it going? Can you play the whole piece now?

    Good luck!

    Per

  • Very happy to have your message !

Yes, I play the whole piece now. But the (my) tempo is not fast enough yet. I'll continue.

  • I found out the real name, its " Vals No 3, Opus 8 " lol

  • What could I say??!!!!!!

    Excellent Music

    Great composer

    Perfect timing and rhythm

    Beautiful fingering

    and of course...

    Brilliant Performer.

But I understand now what you are doing you are playing a lot of romantic beautiful music and south American moderate music well let's see some real Baroque music over here, I heard some of the Bach posted pieces but let's try some thing harder like one of his lute suites, I will be waiting...

  • LOL. Well, I am posting Sutie in e-minor. Allready posted Allemande and Bourre. More to come. And three preludes too... just go to my channel to listen.. LOL

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • this is vals no.3 op.8 as you correctly wrote

  • Hi, this is one of my favourite pieces for the guitar...

I try to play it a while ago. I used to watch john williams performance but i wasn't anywhere near to accomplish his speed on some parts...

But i really liked your version and i decide to give it a try, i won't quit this time...

Thank you for giving us inspiration and those beautiful examples of the classical guitar repertoire...

  • Hello Per

    thank you for your answer,

what kind of camera do you use, because at the one i use it is not possible to plug an external mic.Beside of that i would like to know if you published your arrangement of milonga del angel? that´ s wonderful and of course your playing too .

    kind regards Linus

  • Hello Per ,

    beautiful song, beautiful playing!

Did you use an extra mic or what cam do you took for that amazing sound ?

    Linus

  • Thanks Linus,

I connect an external mic to the camera. The one in the camera sucks... :-)

    Kind regards,

    Per

  • gj again.

  • Hi Peo. Love your playing. It resonates with the soul. First watched you play a Trinity Guildhall Grade 5 piece I am learning - Sarabande from Violin Partita No 1 by JS Bach. You have real musicianship. Keep it up! May I ask what guitar you are playing here on Vals No 3 and on Sarabande?

  • Hi there! Thank you for listening! I play a Philippe Jean-Mairet. (google)

    God luck with your Bach!!

    It's great music.

    Per

  • Thanks for listening to me!

    Appreciated.

    Per

  • Your playing is beyond brilliant. I commented already on one of your other videos. I didn't realize how much material you have posted so I wanted to leave a slightly different comment this time. Thanks for posting such beautiful music. The vast amount of time that you have put into mastering classical guitar is quite clear and every ounce of success you gain you rightly deserve.

  • Thank you!!!

That is good to hear after thousands of hours practicing :-) Very kind. I am bad with words and express myself through my music. I am glad you can hear that.

Kind regards and please keep listening.

    Per
