i've read the stats from my own county. 50,000 dogs and cats euthanized last year. i volunteer at a no kill rescue, and they struggle finanicially. no help whatsoever from the humane society, aspca etc, and our stats were 0 when it came to animals euthanized. we rely on donations only, and unfortunately the costs are too much to keep it going. so we are closing. no kills are not the answer euthanasia is not the answer.
Dude need to fix the video a little bit. ASPCA allows euthanize of animals. PETA and HSUS says the opposite, but does what ASPCA does. Just to be point blank, ASPCA does their job and doesnt bullshit about what they do. HSUS and PETA are the real problem to be exact. They shove their beliefs down our throats like no tomorrow and use gruesome videos to gather donations and support.

The BEST way to "combat" the issues with the national organizations is to support your LOCAL shelter and rescue groups. That is the only way to help successfully.
I have also tried to curtail the atrocities in San Bernardino County, California with letters and phone calls to every politician I can think of. I even wrote the governor of California. I was told the only person who could do something is Supervisor Rutherford of the Board of Supervisors. Supervisor Rutherford and her cohorts refuse to even try to help solve this horrendous problem. These shelters are not humane and they bring these dogs into the killing room with piles of dead dogs lying there. Are we a third world? A couple of nights ago I argued with my dad that the ASPCA was the only good rescue group. I never believed in PETA or the Humane Society. Now I agree with him. I had always believed in the ASPCA. There is no fresh air, stimulation, or comfort whatsoever in No-Kill shelters. Fortunately, there is euthansia, which offers a quick and painless way to end life. Hopefully, euthanasia will no longer be necessary if people STOP breeding and keeping animals as pets!

In the US, there are SUPPOSED to be laws that regulate this kind of behavior, but theres been quite a few investigations that I have read about online that say otherwise.. Yes, they aren't allowed to put cats and dogs in animal feed - or cat food. What happens is the slurry and solids from the rendering process are shipped to China for use in animal food.

I knew there was something wrong with ASPCA back when when I first was aware of it in 2001. I was only eight years old at the time and I already had the sinking feeling that there was something wrong with them. They were always euthinizing animals with food aggression something that is perfectly rehabable. I would know from my own adopted dog with food aggression or possesive aggression. The only goal they have is to end the human animal bond.

The vast majority of dogs & cats euthanized are doneso by an injectable solution. It is illegal (and VERY strictly enforced by the FDA) to use any of these animals in feed products.
@Ruhblooduh I hope u are right. But at one time even the FDA found tracable amounts of the drug in dog, cat and other animal food products. Its just hard to believe that the people that work at these disposal sites would dump millions of pounds of animals or incinerate them when they can make money off the "product". Its not even illegal in many countries at all. Even in Canda, from what Ive read, the "euthanized" dogs and cats from shelters are used to make pet foods.
@TheExposingthelies Yeah, I'm sure you're right. I don't really know much about laws in other countries. All I can say is buy dog food from a reliable company that has proof of the origin of their meat products. Though it's possible, I don't know of any food animal producers who use meat-based products to feed herbivores. Meat is simply much more expensive than plant-based feed, and cattle are particularly sensitive to illness from inappropriate diets (& a sick cow = smaller cow = less value).

@Ruhblooduh We import pet foods from all over the world.. Many of these countries use euthanized shelter animals in dog food, cat food, and farm animal food products. I doubt that its a heck of a lot different in the USA.. Not when there is BILLIONS of dollars to be made off of the recycling of these animals.. Where there is a LOT of money to be made, it goes without saying.
@TheExposingthelies I'm sure other countries do this, but I highly doubt there is much of it going on in the U.S. Euthanasia solutions are so tightly regulated by the DEA that you have to have a medical degree & special license to have them (& usually to administer them - though local laws vary). They are kept under lock & key and every tenth of a gram has to be accounted for via written log - ie amount used for each animal is separately recorded, amount spilled or wasted must be documented...

I seem to recall a case in Virginia where 2 unlicensed peta workers were picking up up animals from vets and individuals and were euthanizing them in the van. After promissing people to find good homes for them before the van even left the driveways these animals were dead. Then they were dumped in the Winn Dixie dumpsters, that's how they got caught. If I'm not mistaken one of the workers still works for PETA. So much for regulation.

My point is that there is an easy to follow paper trail if there is ever a question about the means of euthanasia of an animal, so these animals would have to be sold via black market. Furthermore, if a shelter is making lots of money from selling dead animals, where is the money going? They have to report income in order to maintain their status as a non-profit. @TheExposingthelies ...has happened in the past, but in my opinion from my experience, a black market for euthanized dogs & cats just doesn't seem very feasible. Now, slaughtered farm-type animals...that's another story. As long as there is a reliable history of medication used by the animal, the animal's body has cleared all drugs, and they are free of specific diseases, they can be used for food. Disease testing can be really expensive though, so it may outweight any monetary gain from sale.

@CDLver And in case you dont know it, MOSt of left over food product/vegetables that you eat are grown by the SAME FARMERS who produce meat.. I know half a dozen commerical farmers.. If they do it FOR A LIVING.. MOST of them grow your vegetables AND use a large portion of the left over/damaged food product to feed the stock..Im not talking about our local "small farmers market farmer"..Im talking about REAL commerical farmers that produce the amount of food that it takes to FEED A NATION!

@TheExposingthelies US news sites reports that 'no-kill' "rescues" and "shelters" currently make up 1/4 of the estimated 6,000 new hoarding cases reported in the US/year. Even if homes could be found for the estimated 6 million or so animals who end up homeless each year, millions more will be dropped next year. Storing animals in crates as if they were furniture is not the answer.
I have reviewed where the money is going, I have checked the reports. If PETA or HSUS started a massive sanctuary they'd soon have ALL their resources tied up in this area. They are not a shelter and have never claimed to be. Finding a home for an animal is a short-term but rewarding experience. PETA's & HSUS clinics and outreach programs prevent THOUSANDS of dogs and cats per year from facing euthaniasia or hoarding situations. There simply is no place to put them all.

PETA provided a free and humane release to 2,301 fatally injured or critically ill animals. In 2009, 92,364 shelter animals in Virginia, where PETA is headquartered, were killed.

As I said, according to VDACS, Virginia's Department of Agriculture Animal Reporting Agency, in 2008, of the 10,016 animals who came through PETA's door, 7,525 were taken home by their guardians after receiving FREE sterilization and vet care. Of the 2,469 animals surrendered to PETA by their guardians, 2,369 were brought in for the FREE and HUMANE euthanasia service that PETA provides. 59 animals were adopted and 34 were transferred to shelters. That is fact.

i've read the stats from my own county. 50,000 dogs and cats euthanized last year. i volunteer at a no kill rescue, and they struggle finanicially. no help whatsoever from the humane society, aspca etc, and our stats were 0 when it came to animals euthanized. we rely on donations only, and unfortunately the costs are too much to keep it going. so we are closing. no kills are not the answer euthanasia is not the answer.

Dude need to fix the video a little bit. ASPCA allows euthanize of animals. PETA and HSUS says the opposite, but does what ASPCA does. Just to be point blank, ASPCA does their job and doesnt bullshit about what they do. HSUS and PETA are the real problem to be exact. These shelters are not humane and they bring these dogs into the killing room with piles of dead dogs lying there. Are we a third world? Devore animal shelter in San Bernardino County, CA kills at least 87,000 dogs and cats each year. Google Devore animal shelter or Doug Smith. Yes, they aren't allowed to put cats and dogs in animal feed - or cat food. What happens is the slurry and solids from the rendering process are shipped to China for use in animal food.
Pet food companies buy ingredients from China. They have no scruples, as you can tell from the meamine debacle a couple of years ago. Melamine is routinely used in Chila to fake a higher protein content for inspection. It's nothing but a way of destroying the paper trail.

I am frustrated with what I am seeing here and I do agree with these organizations being up front with TRUTH, what do you do with all the captured unwanted pets, keep them penned up in a cage their whole life, what is more humane? Breeding needs to stop in this country, all animal swap shows etc. We need to neuter all dogs and cats until numbers are so low, that only someone that can afford to buy one can have one, maybe then they will be taken care of and cared for.

I knew there was something wrong with ASPCA back when when I first was aware of it in 2001. I was only eight years old at the time and I already had the sinking feeling that there was something wrong with them. They were always euthinizing animals with food aggression something that is perfectly rehabable. I would know from my own adopted dog with food aggression or possesive aggression. The vast majority of dogs & cats euthanized are doneso by an injectable solution. It is illegal (and VERY strictly enforced by the FDA) to use any of these animals in feed products.

@Ruhblooduh I hope u are right. But at one time even the FDA found tracable amounts of the drug in dog, cat and other animal food products. Its just hard to believe that the people that work at these disposal sites would dump millions of pounds of animals or incinerate them when they can make money off the "product". Its not even illegal in many countries at all. Even in Canda, from what Ive read, the "euthanized" dogs and cats from shelters are used to make pet foods.

@TheExposingthelies Yeah, I'm sure you're right. I don't really know much about laws in other countries. All I can say is buy dog food from a reliable company that has proof of the origin of their meat products. Though it's possible, I don't know of any food animal producers who use meat-based products to feed herbivores. Meat is simply much more expensive than plant-based feed, and cattle are particularly sensitive to illness from inappropriate diets (& a sick cow = smaller cow = less value).

I doubt that its a heck of a lot different in the USA.. Not when there is BILLIONS of dollars to be made off of the recycling of these animals.. @TheExposingthelies I'm sure other countries do this, but I highly doubt there is much of it going on in the U.S. Euthanasia solutions are so tightly regulated by the DEA that you have to have a medical degree & special license to have them (& usually to administer them - though local laws vary). They are kept under lock & key and every tenth of a gram has to be accounted for via written log - ie amount used for each animal is separately recorded, amount spilled or wasted must be documented...

Here locally when the law shut down a shelter, they seized over 100 dogs and cats.. They didn't "humanely euthanize " them.. THEY SHOT THEM AND TOOK THEM TO THE COUNTY DUMP~.Some city shelters like LA take in 50-100THOUSAND animals year.. SOme are incinerated, according to sev reports, sold to local "rendering plants" to use in animal feed.

I seem to recall a case in Virginia where 2 unlicensed peta workers were picking up up animals from vets and individuals and were euthanizing them in the van. After promissing people to find good homes for them before the van even left the driveways these animals were dead. Then they were dumped in the Winn Dixie dumpsters, that's how they got caught. If I'm not mistaken one of the workers still works for PETA. So much for regulation.

My point is that there is an easy to follow paper trail if there is ever a question about the means of euthanasia of an animal, so these animals would have to be sold via black market. Furthermore, if a shelter is making lots of money from selling dead animals, where is the money going? They have to report income in order to maintain their status as a non-profit. @TheExposingthelies ...has happened in the past, but in my opinion from my experience, a black market for euthanized dogs & cats just doesn't seem very feasible. Now, slaughtered farm-type animals...that's another story. As long as there is a reliable history of medication used by the animal, the animal's body has cleared all drugs, and they are free of specific diseases, they can be used for food. Disease testing can be really expensive though, so it may outweight any monetary gain from sale.

I hate that these companies are lying like this and theres nothing we can do to stop it. The only thing i'm glad PETA did is uncovering Iams, there must be one person there with a heart to go undercover like that, but she/he must of quit.

Peta has hired arsonists, used illegal means to capture footage and shock to make a point about species relativity they dont follow. They rarely are seen working hands on with animals themselves and have led to the destruction of allegedly 'useless' companion animals. @CDLver And in case you dont know it, MOSt of left over food product/vegetables that you eat are grown by the SAME FARMERS who produce meat.. I know half a dozen commerical farmers.. If they do it FOR A LIVING.. MOST of them grow your vegetables AND use a large portion of the left over/damaged food product to feed the stock..Im not talking about our local "small farmers market farmer"..Im talking about REAL commerical farmers that produce the amount of food that it takes to FEED A NATION!

@TheExposingthelies US news sites reports that 'no-kill' "rescues" and "shelters" currently make up 1/4 of the estimated 6,000 new hoarding cases reported in the US/year. Even if homes could be found for the estimated 6 million or so animals who end up homeless each year, millions more will be dropped next year. Storing animals in crates as if they were furniture is not the answer.

I have reviewed where the money is going, I have checked the reports. If PETA or HSUS started a massive sanctuary they'd soon have ALL their resources tied up in this area. They are not a shelter and have never claimed to be. Finding a home for an animal is a short-term but rewarding experience. PETA's & HSUS clinics and outreach programs prevent THOUSANDS of dogs and cats per year from facing euthaniasia or hoarding situations. There simply is no place to put them all.

I won't remove your PAST post..I want people to listen to how "progammed this nation has become"..t is really sad people haven't learned to read the signs, ead the "puppy mill raid ads" look up the HSUS ASPCA and PETA "partner rescue groups" who take animals and many times kill them.. I followed the story to where the ASPCA sent those "saved dogs". MOST of them were sent to ATLANTA HS,... GEORGIA has the highest KILL RATE OF ANY STATE IN THIS COUNTRY!.. A 3X KILLrate of ANY state in this country..Atlanta HS is right up there. Why do u THINK that ASPCA&HSUS use THESE places as their dumping ground?

@Kay7271 I dont have to make this shit up.. ITS ALL OVER THE INTERNET NOW!..IVE EVEN CONFRONTED HSUS spokesperson SARAH on TWITTER.. (STILL HAVE TRANSCRIPTS) that TOLD me that the HSUS doesnt keep records of "how many of these puppy mill raid animals are EUTHANIZED." She went on to tell me that "ITS NOT THE HSUS responsiblity as to how many of these animals are dead once they leave them with these SHELTERS".. If YOU dont see the problem with that???? Well Keep on truckin!

@Kay7271 iN A public address by Wayne Pacelle a few mos back when asked about euthanized puppy mill dogs" and why HSUS doesnt' keep up with or tell how many of these animals are KILLED, Pacelle answered, "THE PUBLIC DOESNT NEED TO KNOW HOW MANY OF THESE ANIMALS ARE EUTHANZIED" while also stating "the HSUS doesnt have to TELL PEOPLE what the HSUS does with "THEIR" money.. ARe you freaking KIDDING ME? THEIR MONEY? DONT NEED TO KNOW? NO, the truth is. IF THE PUBLIC DID know HSUS would GO BROKE!

THE ANIMAL KILLINGEST "ETHICAL ORGINAZITION" IN THE HISTORY OF MAN KIND!. Average 90% OVER ALL KILL RATE since their conception. 97-98% KILL RATE for the last several years... According to VDACS, of the 11,096 animals brought to PETA in 2009 by their guardians, 8,682 received FREE vet services, including sterilisation, and were taken home. PETA provided a free and humane release to 2,301 fatally injured or critically ill animals. In 2009, 92,364 shelter animals in Virginia, where PETA is headquartered, were killed.
That is fact. That is public information. You are an animal-abusing flunky for the Center for Consumer Freedom.

Before donating to any organization, check them out at Charity Navigator or a similar charity rating website to find out how your contribution is being used. Never donate to any organization (or buy any product) that's repeatedly advertised on late night TV, ASPCA being one of them.

@markhinr Amen.. Only the blind cant see how animal rescue/rights has gone to the dollar and greed in this country.. Only way to REALLY save animals is do it yourself in your own community and shelters.. Other than that GREED steals all of the money ..

Ironically, you note in your own video that ground-up shelter animals are being fed to American livestock, yet you defend your right to eat that hamburger, which you clearly state has been fed the very shelter animals that you now want HSUS and PETA to save.
You are not an effective spin master for the animal abusers. Surely the Center for Consumer Freedom can do better than you.

@CDLver Ironically PETA stands for the ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS, Yet they KILL percentage wise, more animals than any ANIMAL RIGHTS GROUP EVER IN HISTORY. ALSO claim veganism to be almost a Godly proclamation. Thats IRONY for you. They dont want US using animal product for food but they think that it is perfectly ok to kill 5-6 THOUSAND dogs a yr while taking in 40M bucks donations FOR ETHICAL treatment. They homed EIGHT dogs in 08 or 09 while killing in excess of 5000. EThical you say?

As I said, according to VDACS, Virginia's Department of Agriculture Animal Reporting Agency, in 2008, of the 10,016 animals who came through PETA's door, 7,525 were taken home by their guardians after receiving FREE sterilization and vet care. Of the 2,469 animals surrendered to PETA by their guardians, 2,369 were brought in for the FREE and HUMANE euthanasia service that PETA provides. 59 animals were adopted and 34 were transferred to shelters. That is fact.

You are comparing animals broungt in for care to animals "rescued/euthanized" by PETA.. Of course they are not going to kill peoples animals brought in for cheap serivices. You, however, do not cite official state agency numbers. You parrot the anti-PETA, anti-HSUS lies from websites operated by the Center for Consumer Freedom, the animal abusers' lobbyist. You are not credible.

@TheExposingthelies, you need not post any link, just name the source, the website's name from where you are getting your misinformation. Without a doubt, it will be a Center for Consumer Freedom-operated website.
As I said, the CCF are not paid by animal abusers to tell the public that the state of Virginia euthanised 92,364 shelter animals in 2009; the CCF is paid to spin the fact that PETA provided a humane and dignified release to 2,301 animals in 2009 at no charge to their guardians.

I have gone on to their ASPCA and HSUS sites countless times where they "ask for comments".. People post the truth about their lies and fraud they pull it down immediately.. Best Friends, the no-kill shelter that rescued 22 of Vick's pit bulls, has an annul budget (equal to PETA's) of $30 million, and can only HUMANELY house and care for 1,500 dogs, cats, and other abandoned animals. What shall be done with the other 24,500 animals who will die today, tomorrow, and every day thereafter for the next 365 days?
PETA and HSUS are animal protection groups who serve the needs of ALL animals, not just dogs and cats in the sheltering system.

@CDLver HSUS last "guess" says there are about 4m shelter animals euthanized yrly about40-50%. ARound 40-50,60% homed depending on the best "guesstimates. Do you REALLY think the OTHER half couldnt be homed with the 200MILLION+ a year donations aspca and HSUS take in? along with the estimated 2BILLION dollars USA spends EUTHANIZING/KILLING "unwanted animals"? Come on, thats one HELL of a budgetttdon't you think?

LIke ASPCA HSUS and PETA have programmed this nation into believing the "its more humane to KILL" philosophy.. THey started telling people "ITS MORE HUMANE TO KILL, about the same time they started calling THE CITY POUND a "humane society". When did KILLING become humane? @CDLver Like you said 2 BILLION spent killing another 2-3BILLION (again depending on the estimate ER).. thats a budge of ?? how many thousand dollars PER animal that WE, the donating public gives to SAVE animals? The REAL problem, there are too many people with their hands in the DONATION POT. Too many CEOS, Too many SCAMS, Too many "retirement funds", too many STOCK AND "corporate ownership programs.. ANimal rescue has become oneof the biggest SCAMS in this country!.
