The Army of darkness was used as a diversion while Dr. Doom, Ash and the human survivors used Reed Richards dimensional portal to travel to another dimension. Ash entered late and emerged in a world of Marvel Werewolves. And somehow he returns to his own Earth which is now under the rule of Bad Ash and the Deadites.
