  • It's a shame that Jayne Meadows, Audrey Meadows' sister, wasn't on the panel. The Alice Kramden who preceded her, the fantastically brilliant Pert Kelton, was an infinitely better one, as were the original sketches, but Kelton was blacklisted. After watching Kelton as Ralph Kramden's battleaxe wife in the glorious original "Honeymooners," watch her two decades earlier in "Bed of Roses" and "The Bowery," when she was the loveliest redhead ever recorded on film.

  • I watched this several times and I just noticed she has a large dent in her right forehead, I guess she fell down and whacked it on something pretty hard when she was much younger. My 2nd daughter did the same thing.

  • What was that reference to her brother-in-law?

  • commedian/composer/ bon-vivant Steve Allen is/was married to Audrey's sister Jayne.

  • Baby your the Greatest .......

  • Audrey, what a doll !

    Beautiful smile she has.

  • Cannot think when Dorothy has looked more beautiful than here.

  • what year was this?

  • audrey was a hottie

  • The honeymooners was and still is a piece of comady magic , I used to like seeing my mother laugh to the point of tears ,

  • She reminds me of Sandy Cheeks, lol. Idk why

  • She's so pretty.

    jrs

  • who the hell dislikes this?

  • Prior to the 1955 season, Audrey was a regular on the Jackie Gleason variety show, where ONE of the running sketches was "The Honeymooners". It was done live. For the 55-56 season Jackie decided to film "The Honeymooners" as a stand-alone filmed sitcom. It did very well, but Jackie missed the variety show and resumed doing that the following season.

  • @IEnjoyHippies August 21, 1955.

Oh, Fred and Arlene! Love 'em. Thanks for another cute clip.

  • what a pretty woman ♥ and she has good handwriting. i wish i could write like that >_>

  • I don't know what year this is, but sometime after this that I've yet to pinpoint exactly, Arlene had a facelift. It was a very good one, too!

  • Arlene Francis is the greatest...

  • so nice not to see everyone kissing and hugging gratuitously as if they were all intimate friends, as they do today.

  • mrs ralph kramden w/o a doubt the most beautiful tv wife ever

  • audrey meadows,wAS A beatiful women!!

  • audrey was BEAUTIFUL!

  • Old-school crush on Audrey Meadows!

  • She writes her "e" the same as me, and my name is Audrey too (: lol

  • Baby, you'll always be the greatest.

  • she was so beautiful and sweet! and such a good actress!

  • "Alice, pow zoom to the moon!"

And every show ended, "Baby, you're the greatest!"

  • audrey was a doll. when she said she was single I bet she got a lot of guy's attention on tv and the audience.

  • one thing i remember about audrey is her bid toothy smile :)

  • People used to say my mother looked just like her---a very nice compliment!!

  • Yes it is. I bet you look a bit like her too!

  • well, some-what (just from the neck down)

  • She really was a classy lady. I was so sad when she passed on.

  • Wow, this was the week prior to the filming of the very first (classic 39) Honeymooners episode according to Audrey.

  • Audrey is beautiful. I watch the old honeymooners shows and wish out loud I had a wife like that. my wife gets PISSED

  • @Hounsfield Lol I'm 24 and I agree. she's 1950 sexy! :D

  • @Hounsfield ask your wife if she wants a trip to the moon.

  • What is that "dent" that appears on her forehead? There are other videos of her on youtube, and it isn't there.

  • watch?v=8k8nSX1XrnQ it is there in this episode of the honeymooners

  • Almost didn't get the part for the Honeymoorners because the producers thought she was too beautiful.

  • that's my name Audrey Meadows!!!!!!!

  • they were, for sure

  • Thanks so much for sharing all these WML videos. It's especially fun to see that curmudgeon Fred Allen--it was his last steady job.

  • Her sister Jayne was married to Steve Allen for years and years. I think Audrey's gone now, but Jayne's still around :)

  • "CBS burns money? Oh so that's why we don't get paid!" gotta love Arlene ;D

  • @saraismyname That was a cute joke by Arlene, but Bennett Cerf revealed in a 1967 interview that the panel regulars - himself, Arlene and Dorothy Kilgallen - along with John Daley made "scandelous" (his own word) money from WLM, Especially since they only had to dedicate one hour a week (a half hour for makeup and prep and a half hour for the live show) to do it.
