@xxxEL1MANAT0Rxx2010 Get what? The Macbook Pro in the Online Store or Apple Store or Retailer. Windows XP Pro in a electronics / software retailstore. The game via Entertainment store or Steam.
Which iMac 21.5" do you have? The one with the Nvidia or Ati videocard? If you're running Bioshock now it's likely that it will run Bioshock 2 aswell. They didn't adjust the graphic engine or barely so the system req. should be the same. But since the game isn't out yet I'm only guessing.
best 7200rpm drive for the MBP is the WD Scorpio Black 320gb, without the free fall sensor..... its whisper quiet, fast and runs a good 10 deg cooler than most other 7200 drives
'Old' and unibody Macbook Pro users UPDATE your graphic drivers in windows! Nvidia recently made it possible for (Apple) notebook users to download drivers. You really notice the difference!!
Most of the people who talk shit about mac's never even worked on one. The mac is in my opinion the best working station because of Mac OS X and good hardware. Mac OS X Open GL sucks for gaming, but gladly there is bootcamp so mac users can use the only good thing about Windows: DirectX. And if you have worked on a Mac and you still think it sux then that's fine aswell, if you're happy with Windows / Linux then who am I do disagree. Windows works, but the way it works is not to my taiste..Cheers
good hardware.... hmmm, the hardware is now pretty the same: intel core duo processors and nvidia GPU. It is only the free software in it who does the difference. well, OSX does it too ^_^
Yea and that's the main point. Mac OS X is optimized for mac hardware and windows has to support every piece of hardware out there. But I know that the hardware nowadays is about the same as in the this version of the Macbook Pro, but I have this notebook for 1.7 years now. And still loving it ^^
sweet! ive been saving up and im getting ready to buy a macbook pro... my first mac im just wondering what mouse you use, ive used the mighty mouse before but it never struck me as a mouse capable of gaming. cheers
Surething. Tried WoW a while ago on my 1920x1200 (external display) all settings maxed and the FPS didn't drop below 60 FPS (which was the max FPS you could get, don't know if they fixed that now). Btw Ironforge on a sunday evening didn't cause any lag or massive drop in FPS (50+ fps). If games can run in XP then they will run on. So older games will do fine ^^
It's best to just run any blizzard game in OS X rather than in windows, although the new os 10.5.3 update broke Starcraft and Diablo II. Keep your fingers crossed that Apple fixes that.
On boot camp, however, I have The Orange Box running flawlessly at 60fps (on the lowest MBP you can buy). You just need to do a little overclocking.
he can run anything a windows xp computer can because he has put windows on his mac. Im gonna do that soon for a very simple reason: Windows operating system = mac operating system but mac laptops > windows laptops.
Hi m8 I would say XP for now, since Vista is asking a little bit more from a computer then XP and DX10 only has a minor increase in graphics. I'm waiting with Vista untill it's mainstream for gaming.
Hey, I have a MBP 2008 update (penryn processor) (just bought it a week ago) and for gaming, is it better to have XP still or Vista? I have both OS's and I can't decide which to install via bootcamp. Please message me. Thx.
It's the previous model; 2.4Ghz 800 FSB and 4MB cache. I don't think the difference can be noticed at ingame performance. There is a 512 MB VGA on the new Macbook Pro's but the graphics card isn't powerfull enough to take advantage of that extra ram. You can only see a performance increase on High resolutions, but these games can't be played @ high reso on these machines. Just wanted to share these vid's with you guys :)
Bioshock graphics are maxed out and the resolution is 960x600. Although the reso seems very low, the graphics still look stunning! The average fps I have is 30+, with drops to 18 fps and peaks on 55 fps (90 fps in puzzle games). Bioshock on this notebook is not that bad at all. Enjoy the video!
Wth !? MacBook rocks!

Just wondering, do you think I will be able to play bioshock 2 (when it comes out) on my 21.5" iMac with boot camp without lag? Even online?

Nvidia card. It just looks like your running it fine on a notebook, and with boot camp as well.
homersimpson587 2 years ago
@homersimpson587 Please note that my 8600M is 25-50% faster as the onboard 9400M. You will be able to run Bioshock but I don't know on what settings.
strigani 2 years ago
What if I had the ATI Radeon HD card? Would it be considerably faster?
homersimpson587 2 years ago
@homersimpson587 Yeah the Ati Radeon 4670 is about 2-3x faster as the 9400M.

Thanks.

No it's pretty silent. Ofcourse you hear it but not more then a regular drive in a Macbook (Pro).

Why are you playing in fast forward, its pretty deceiving for those who want to see how smooth the game play actually is.
illmagnified 2 years ago
I don't play in fastforward, skipped some loading parts but all the ingame footage is realtime. cheers
