  • Can this be done in Washington State where its not to sunny? If you lived here what would you recommend to grow? ie what oil producing plant?

  • @ac14081408 Marijuana

  • @ac14081408 beans something thatmakes lots of seeds maybe something with omega3

  • Neat. Where did you get the plastic tube film from? Did you make it or buy it and do the seem thing?

  • @davidwgair why would anyone in their right mind pay for something that cost nothing, and is readily available???? airlines would be wise to just make their own from co2 captured from the air.

  • @circusboy90210 Because it takes substantial investment to make it happen in the first place, and the labor/chemicals are not free for mass production

  • @plasmafrostfire sure it takes a little concrete, and steel. diatoms are free for the taking. it's not impossible and the end results more than make up for the small amount of input involved.

  • What algae species were you using?

We are growing nano chloropsis but it's such a small cell we are having trouble getting it to flocculate. Have you ever tried a solvent (Soxhlet) extraction?

  • @davidwgair I think camelina weed would be a much better option....far less expemsive

  • Love IT!!! California needs to invest more in Green Tech!!! Prop 23 is down in the polls, but the Yes on 23 campaign just got a new influx of hot, anonymous cash, so we'll need to fend them off in the home stretch to Election Day.

Hit me back if you'd like to talk Prop 23. We're coming out with a bunch of great No on Prop 23 videos soon!

  • Free Energy is real but the coverup is strong, if you are interested in a REAL free energy machine then

just search for the LT MAGNET MOTOR in the youtube video search , it is probably the ONLY working magnet

motor out there. Join the free energy revolution!!

  • who makes the actual tubes?

  • who built the system, and how many acres?

  • My future Bio-Reactor.... A profit making and justice to the Green World.........

  • You should do a comparison video using it as an alternative to softwood trees for ethanol use; particularly given the benefits of it as an alternative to non-food sources. e.g.sugar beets, corn, etc. Acreage and output timelines if you have them.

  • Any1 know the overall energy input and output of this.

cause most biofuels use more energy than it gives out

  • @xxtupzxx True, some fuel does, and it really depends on how it made and how fast its made, how big are the pumps, how is it made. Im currently working on an indoor bioreactor that uses only Blue & Red LED grow lights, runs the algae through troughs and uses only a 300 watt pump. it will (predicted) about 5 gallons of oil a day. It uses solar thermal for the heating and PV for the electricity. the only thing i have to put in is Water, Menthol & Lye.

  • @xxtupzxx I'm at about 2 kW per gallon, after all is said an done. how ever this doesn't take into account that I produce all my own electricity and my own heat. I could go on and on finding the total embodied energy of the system but no mater how bad it gets it will be far less the the true cost of oil. A side note is that out the process I get a dry algae cake that i can use to grow in my garden. And glycerin I can give to the local water treatment plant.

  • @dieseltwitch build a biogas digester and put your cake and glycerine through there and get methane from it. You can still put the digested matter in your garden.

  • What kind of pump do you use to recirculate the algae?? Is it a centrifuge pump??

  • That's pretty awesome. Bring on over enough so I can fill up a half acre of my ground. (I wish)

  • Heat Extraction Controlled Compost Acceleration (HECCA System) is in development watch for it

  • what is the costs of setting up the system above and where can i get it?

  • So far, I've seen plenty of videos of this stuff being made, what I would like to see is a video of a car running on it. Is there any video or any kind of evidence that clearly shows that vehicles can run on algae fuel? Please give me something if you know of anything. Thanks.

  • @cubeus19 Look up "Biodiesel from oil algae", it really doesn't mater where the natural oil come from. it can be soy, or just vegetable oil for your local store. how ever to make it usable as a fuel you need to put it through a process called transesterification. Some argue that you can run SVO (straight vegetable oil) but this is very had on a diesel engine. it will run but it will lesson the life of the motor. running true Biodiesel (no mater the source) actually make the engine run cooler.

  • @cubeus19 google it.

  • @cubeus19 i have see the green shit pored into a tractor with some real diesel in it . it ran ok. it burns. i didn't see green crap blow out the top. would that pass your test?

  • Has anyone gotten the price to be anywhere near even $150/bl? Are any power plants extracting co2 from their stacks to make algae and reburn it or sell it? It seems to me that if this were efficient, power plants would take advantage of all the co2 they produce and recycle it. Dried algae does burn and has pretty good energy content.
