Step 3.- Have exactly 98 stars

Step 4.- get the 1st star of each lvl in the basement as yoshi

Step 5.- get the 1st star of each lvl on the main floor as mario

Step 6.- get the 1st star of each lvl on the second floor as luigi

Step 7.- get the 1st star of each lvl on the final floor as wario

Step 7.- get 100 lives.

Step 8.- the white door by wario's will turn blue and sonic will come out. it worked for me!
