2:44 - 2:49 - That was a clip from a sci-fi show called 'Data Man' I believe it was a pilot and did not go very far.
2:50 - 2:55 - That is 'Odo' from Deep Space 9 (we were not allowed to actually call out the show by name in the demo reel)
Nope there is no public info on ER's algorithms, very much proprietary, but I do know the math genius who wrote them :D Before ASDG got actual SGI workstations in house, development was done on an Amiga 3000 using the little known AM/UX UNIX port.

This was a demo reel Elastic Reality (formerly ASDG Inc.) produced. We used to hand out CDs at tradeshows of this demo reel.
The reel is all production morphs that actually aired on TV and movies. The reel is actually older, it was produced in 94 or 95 and was done up on a SGI Indigo workstation. The quality of digital video was pretty bad back then :-) thus all the nasty compression artifacts.

Seeing this again relly borught back memories..I used to be on the ASDG QA/Support team (ASDG was only like a handful of people, around 15 or so). ER saved our bacon literally..
Perry Kivolowitz (one of the founders and prez) used to take us all out to see the premieres of movies that used ER..it was a major point of pride for us all to see ER in a movie credit.

Was an old AVI file that was supplied on a cover CD back in about 1996. Magazine was Personal Computer World I believe.
