The artist makes it look so easy... red lipstick scares me. I'm wondering if those shades would work for me, because my coloring (hair color, skin color, eye color) are similar to the model's, although I don't look like her.

I recommend going to the MAC Pro shops because although I love wearing Viva Glam I and Chili lipsticks, I really love the look of Charred Red and Red Pepper from the MAC Pro shops which I need to go back and buy. I love their lipstick called Sin also but it's a colder color on me and more dramatic therefore. I recommend Sin lipstick for people with cooler skintones definitely.

If you just dab it on with your finger yes, but that's the only way you should try that. Don't smear red lisptick all over your mouth without lip pencil.

If you watched the video she discussed the 2 shades that she used. There are so many shades of red and it may look that way to you or it could be your screen. It is the technique that is important as that is what is the main topic, not the shade of red.

You go by the undertones of the person's skin, or you just don't bother with red lips at all! For black skin, if you try red lipstick you must go by the one that also suits the undertones of your skin best.

If you feel your lips are too large for it, then use a matte red lipstick. Although very thin lips should avoid it because of the Joker effect. See Chloe Sevigny for that one.
