@LilMissCapBusta That just proves that they can pick and choose who goes there. Public schools are bound by their districts. So yea, a select team beats a non-select team 9 out of 10 times. Maybe YOU should think about what you are saying before you embarrass YOURself.
@estesitebuilder When did I deny any of that? All you did with this comment is further prove my point that private schools are better. And just for the record, both public and private schools have TRYOUTS, which means both private and public schools can pick who makes the team. There's also the fact that De Smet has three tracks (B, A, and Honors), which allow for the maximum amount of students to attend the school.
@LilMissCapBusta No, most public schools do NOT have tryouts, which therefore means that they can't pick, so it doesn't matter how many students they have. As far as education... Yea, most private schools are better, but I would not have traded my 4 years at public school for any private school education.
@estesitebuilder What public schools are you referring to that don't have tryouts? I've never heard of any highschool sports team, private or public, that didn't have tryouts.
@LilMissCapBusta I played 4 years of HS football at a public school that had to play De Smet and never once had to try out. I know that all the teams we played minus De Smet were the same way. Maybe other sports were different, but I only played football so I wouldn't know.
@estesitebuilder You're saying that varsity football didn't have tryouts? If that was true when you were in highschool, I'm positive it's changed now. Any walk-on varsity team is completely unheard of in my mind
@LilMissCapBusta That wasn't that long ago... I graduated in 06... I know that the school I went to and the others in the area are still walk-on teams. I have friends who are still in HS.
@estesitebuilder Do you know Marty Fritz

@estesitebuilder Even if that is true--and I'm not saying it is, The public schools can just choose to have tryouts. That simple.
