... Start the car again and badda bing badda boom, it should work. The last time this happened to me, the radio wouldn't turn on or off with the control of the key (when you pulled it, it would stay on, even though it's supposed to go off.)
Shameless plug but check out slkworld.com for all sorts of useful stuff!
@nooberNXC Thanks for the info. In my case, the battery and alternator were bad and it was replaced under warranty, otherwise it would have been about $800 + flatbed tow fee (about $150 to the dealer). I'm also on SLKworld as Tummy.
This is probably way outdated but I had this same problem on my SLK. For anyone else that has this kind of problem: On the driver's side in the door panel, there's a fuse cover (black plastic piece.) Pop it open and pull out the fuse schematics. Look for a fuse that is shared by both the radio AND the navigation head unit (I believe it's 41 or 43, if memory serves) and can be found in that very fuse bay. Pull the fuse, turn on the accessories, turn off the accessories, & put the fuse back.

It turns out that the battery and alternator died and there was not enough power to run the COMAND.
