They do the same to lizards, small snakes, baby waterfowl, and all sorts of critters that aren't "traditional" fish fodder. Deal with it hippies. Feeding a predatory fish a mouse is no different that feeding a horse an apple. Not what they would normally eat, but something that they would eat in a heartbeat if they found it in the wild.
