I saw this cast the first time I saw Avenue Q in London. I reeeeeeally wish I could've seen the orignal london cast but, I didn't. One of my life regrets -:(

When I saw this for the first time I was so excited, but I was disappointed with Rebecca Lock, she did have some big shoes to fill after Julie Atherton. And Mark was never there! I saw the show three times in London and he wasn't on once! His understudy was better anyway :P

Rebecca was SUPERB in this role. I saw her and Julie Atherton, and both were brilliant. They don't just drag any old person off the street to star in West End shows, you know!!

@axkent67 I agree with you. Rebecca was SUPERB. Both she and Julie Atherton did the role justice. Brilliant actresses/singers. (What everyone seems to forget is this is simply a cut down version done in a TV studio for entertaining morning TV audiences! Not the real show on stage in the theatre.)

Good performance, but they are trying way too hard on their accents and you can tell, and the guy who plays Brian sounds like he's from New Jersey, not new York, original west end cast was amazing, but you can't beat the Original broadway cast

Bear in mind that they'd only just started when this was filmed...I'd say why don't you do better? As for Brian...I've grown to like him. I guess it could be quite hard immitate the originals so Id say hes done a great job making it his own

Nicky is a "Live-Hand" puppet, and harder to control, cause the main guy who controls him has to have both his arm up the puppet controlling the head and his other controlling one of the arms. The girl is controlling the other arm. Now Kate and Rod are called "Hand-Rod" puppets.

I used to perform with a puppetry group when I was a teenager...loved it! And I would love to do it again!

That's Daniel's intention - he prefers to play Rod so that everyone knows he's gay, and that way the audience empathise with him. Rather than leaving the audience second guessing as to whether he's gay or not :] Personally, I prefer Dan's way of doing it - it's made me really love Rod whereas the NY version I was like "ergh, not too interested" :)

I hate that the only song they perform on TV spots is Sucks to be Me, because they always have to cut Gary and Christmas Eve, which just makes the song and by extension the musical, seem tame. They'd be much better off performing Fine Line or Fantasies or something, because you at least wouldn't have to cut anything from those songs.
