I think KPRC in Houston was the ONLY BIG CITY STATION to ever use an affiliate package, which was usually reserved for small markets (like Terre Haute, Indiana) and medium cities (like Colorado Springs, CO).
Pretty much, though later in the year Linda Lorelle was made a co-anchor with Bill Balleza. She also became the co-anchor for the 6 PM newscast in 1992 before Ron retired.

Let me figure this out. In 1991 KPRC Newscast lineup was:
Bill Balesza and Jan Carson @ 5pm
Ron Stone @ 6pm
and Bill Balesza @ 10pm
