  • Im a computer network engineer and can easily troubleshoot any internet connection problems with comcast modem myself, as i have it myself. most issues are actually very basic to the trained eye, when connection is disrupted. needless to say i never have once called in a technician in the five years i have been a customer. if you live in chicago and need help, dont wait days for a comcast technician, contact me instead and i dont charge much either. email me here on YT.

I did order a service true offerwire believe it takes you forever to deal with them. I got the service after 2 months and the daily struggle call for my bad luck there is only two providers of internet on my place and the other is at&t which is same as comcast. few companies doing business on one service we call the monopoly and that is happening now with the internet

  • You are an ASS. I used to do that job, and those people often have to work incredibly long hours, sometimes up to 13 days straight without a break. You could have had some compassion for him, but instead you chose to be an asshole and got him busted. For all you know he has several kids, child support, a mortgage, vehicle payments, maybe taking care of an elderly parent in a nursing home, maybe someone with cancer....you're an incredibly MEAN person and I hope someone does the same to you.

  • I can actually live with most of Comcast's BS. If you are a smart consumer you can negotiate through it. But the monopoly they have on local sports in the bigger cities is just criminal. The sports teams who sign on to their sports net channels are just as guilty. I'm not ever going to pay for cable, but I will for internet, and I'll stream sports for free. So suck it. Im not paying to watch my local teams that I also typically pay taxes towards. And I dont fault the installer. Its a bad job.

  • im a cable installer and theres been many time that ive nearly fallen asleep at customers houses on hold, when your working 14-16hrs a day 6 days a week it breaks you down fast....and yea he probably was fired thanks to this video and not his fault at all poor guy

  • I would like to know if anyone else experiences dramatically slower internet speeds than what they pay for.

    I will call Comcast customer support and they want me to reset all my equipment. I no longer do that I just have them restart the connection on their end and guess what!?! It works again. I only get a few hours of good internet speed before it chokes back down to less than 1/4 of the speed I pay for.

    I have a theory that they purposely choke speeds.

  • After months of looking for work I finally landed a job at a company to which comcast had outsourced their customer service. They trained me so poorly that even though I tried my very best I was pretty much incompetent. Today it is less than 4 days from xmas, and I just learned that Comcast ended their contract, so me and everyone else (single mothers included) got laid off. Merry Christmas, Comcast. No wonder Dickens' Christmas Carol remains a classic...

  • @louisaruth i work for a company that outsources jobs. let me tell you that if a client terminates a contract is because his vendor is not providing a good quality customer service. your operation managers and supervisors should have come with an action plan to avoid this tragedy. we have closed other centers and now my company is the only one who owns the same client. it took 2 years, but now we got awarded as the best center.

  • I had comcast for 3 weeks. 3 weeks of trying to talk to someone about the terms of my trial contract and being transfered to everyone everywhere except someone who knew was enough. When I finally got through to someone I ended my free trial account. Not even worth it for free!

First off, while they are far from perfect, they are far superior to Verizon in every way (As a whole I mean, as when they take over smaller cable companies with garbage infrastructure in place, you still have a terrible infrastructure). Service is better, customer service is better, turn around on repairs is shorter, prices are better. Some of there outsourcing sucks, but is required by franchise agreements. Learn before you post.

In the past year I had to trade in my modem and cable box five times because they keep giving me faulty (that people have already returned) equipment. There is something wrong with my cable connection and for five months they have sat on their ass and done nothing about it even after having someone come in to check the line. It takes a fucking week to get a technician to come to my house.

  • I once heard that a female customer of Comcast's called in to complain that her service wasn't working. At the beginning of the call, she was being very polite and kind. The call center rep started treating her like a moron when things weren't going right and under normal circumstances likely should have, so she was getting pissy. When she opened her next month's bill, it was addressed to "F*cking B*tch" (W/O censors I put). Needless to say, the call center rep had to job hunt later that day lol

  • Comcast feels like dial up. I have 15Mb down and 1.5 up. I remember back when it was 2mb down and surfing was so much faster. It's a big hose job. On a speed test you would get that advertised speed because Comcast keeps track of those sites. Actual surfing though is very mediocre.

  • comcast sucks, they keep advertising their high speeds but it's all an illusion, you are capped at 250 gig per month, so no matter how much speed they give you you can't transfer up or down more than 250 gig per month, I kept getting letters cause I have netflix going to 2 rooms my kids and the living room and my kids would stream movies or their tv shows in their room and I would stream movies and shows in living room, after 3 months and their mean letters they shut off our service. changed isp

  • COMCAST customer service is the worst. They never showed up for an appointment to install a new modem with phone and when I called them, they said that "THE SYSTEM" had cancelled the appointment because I had no active phone. Guess what, they deactiavted my land line phone in order to get me their new internent phone. And then accuse the system of not having an active phone and therefore "the system" canceled the appointment. WTF????

  • I'm a cable installer. not for comcast but a smaller company. i can totaly see this happening and it prob. happens all the time. long hours installing and driving and then you sit on hold for an hour. Hahaha never happened to me but i can see it

  • comcast blows dicks. i am two weeks comcast free now and i have no idea what possessed me to put up with their shit so long or pay their ridiculous prices. cable tv is expensive enough without the pay channels, but without them it's all reruns and infomercials! with free tv i am not missing much. if i want movies i can get a netflix subscription for a tiny fraction of the cost and don't have to watch the same 90's b movie 27 times a month either! cable is a DEAD medium folks!

  • @br3edage I get it 24 7 never have an issue Augusta Georgia the test area for all the new stuff like DVR that goes from room to room with TB storage , if I want I can pay 70 a month for 100 MB and no caps have a friend that gets it (by the way we both are tech support for a little cable company called knology .. I get that free and I have comcast!

    and that 100mb internet must be with another company because were still beta trialing 50mb internet. so nice try lying to a senior tech that beta tests every new product out there. i was the first crew to trial ipads for field use.

  • i just installed the performance package from comcast, speed up to 15 Mbs, but to my surprise the thing is retardedly slow ! its downloading 40 kbs per second, thats less than 256 kbps on browsing speed ! where the hell is my 15 Mbs ? This video stopped 4 times to load ! but hey, speeds may vary, they just dont tell you to what extant

  • @sisilula No I don't work for them but I do know cable. Most people think they are buying the best cables they can get and really they are buying shit and getting over charged for it. No matter what cable company you have the service is only as good as the outside plant. Some people NEVER have a problem some do all the time. The reality is that your comcast sucks, not everyone's comcast sucks. Do you understand?

  • Still waiting....ordered service on June 22nd....this is July 9. Got my modem but it won't initialize. They've lied to me numerous times, entertained themselves by putting me on hold repeatedly until I give up or by transferring me to closed departments despite my protests. They promised this morning to have a tech here in 60 minutes, now they tell me the order was for sometime today....yet another lie. Always an 'I'm sorry", but never anything to fix the problem.

I have had them for 20 years in FL and they are now just ripping people off like never before, the problem is that if you are in an area that doesn't have other options, you are basically stuck with them. If you try to cut one service, they raise the price of the others, so you can't win until someone like AT&T is in all of their markets.

  • I did that one time. I had to sit on the phone and wait for a slow ass reciever to download and me and my trainer fell to sleep on the customers couch. Being a cable installer is a shit job. I decided to go back to school. The cable and satellite industry is nothing but a hole in the road job tell you get a real job. Anyone who wants to be a cable man needs to take a second career choice because its not a clean or great paying job also the customers are some of the most hardest if not impossible

  • This guy may not be a "concrap" technician but a contractor that is hired by concrap. They do not have to adhere to the same dress and ID standards as a tech actually employed by Concrap.

  • Comcast is over priced and scummy. During Hurricane Wilma, South Floridians were without power/cable/water for almost 2 months. Comcast fucking charged customers for those two months.

    Few days later, there were legions of Dish/Direct TV fans all over the place replacing Comcast.

    Those sorry bastards had the NERVE to send apology letters and these piss-ass coupons to 'Come Back'.

  • Comcast is a great service once you get it to work. Expect to spend a million hours trying to get your service to be reliable. It took us about 2 years until our service finally stayed on like it was supposed to. Before that, we had network outages, like, every 5 to 10 minutes.

  • Having been a Comcast QC supervisor, I can tell you this isn't a Tech. For starters Techs aren't allowed to wear short, whether they are contractors or in house. Secondly Techs have at least 4 numbers to try to get a hold of the office or dispatch so his wait might be 30 minutes at the most, if he was taking a payment he could wait an hour to validate a credit card or a checking or savings account & routing number. The problem here is a one way filter that needs to be removed from in a wall

  • @Coffeeforevah Secondly, I just solved your problem so when they show up again have then either find the old filter or run a new cable to the first 2 way splitter then bypassing a bad filter hidden in a wall. Secondly at the access point where they hook you up there might be an old filter or a bad tap port. There, now you know what to tell them when they come out again . That will be $50, I will take Paypal
