David, thank you so much for this video! This really is the part of Mardi Gras that I love! Right over on Frenchman just outside of the French Quarter. I watch this occasionally just to get that good feeling again :). I'll be coming down there in a few days for 2012.
the real deal!! ur right! i love it!! new orleans native, here! i JUST moved up to NYC for grad school but i was down for mardi gras!! this video actually brought a few tears 'cuz i'm back in NYC now... and i soooo miss home!! :( also, excellent choice w/ the Hot 8!!! a very, very close friend of mine is a member and we been thru a lot! this guy is doing absolutely awesome and when i think of where we were and where we are, i just smile real big and start to tear up... GENTILLY for LIFE!! thanx

This totally embodies the mood of Mardi Gras I celebrate. It is hard to explain it to people like say in California, where I currently live. Most people don't get it, but there are some people who live in New Orleans their whole lives and never experience this kind of Mardi Gras. Let's just say we are lucky to have found the best way to celebrate it in my opinion. And get to do it over and over again every year!!
