I have seen a lot of French's works, including the neverdying Murder Most Horrid and The Vicar of Dibley. Both series are comparable to such greatness as is Blackadder or The New Statesman, so I would definitely claim she has got talent. As for her looks, she's a very self-conscious woman - I think she's perfectly aware she's no Claudia Schiffer, but pretending she's not only contributes to her charm.
