Ah, Aussie rock. All about down to earth stuff. Love, hate, breakups, lifes challenges, and the Gurus and other Aussie bands got into our minds and souls with thier music. Hearing these years later takes us back to what we were doing when we first heard them.
What a great band! I totally missed them in the 8o's! funny that I remember hearing them on the radio and couldn't find out who they were. Thanks so much for posting this music! I am now a dedicated Hoodoo fan!!!
@nzoz1987 Its nice to see you putting annoying people with nothing intelligent to say back in their respective places. What does one gain by making fun of someone's haircut anyways?
this song reminds me of a road trip i had with 3 of the best lads you could ever meet. The Highlands of Scotland did not know what hit them that week;-)
This was about around the time Susanna was doing her movie the Allnighter. This was also the time Vicki Micky and Debbie did that funny interview on MTV with the Hoodoo Gurus during marti gra, but they referred to it as NARLY gra. LOL, funny stuff
I've been to plenty of Gurus concerts, and a crowd request in Bunbury, West Australia for "Good Times" was booed down, to the amusement of the band! I really wanted to hear them play it, and at the reunion concert at Gloucester Park, Perth 2005 (?) they finally played it, and it was awesome! It's not aligned with their current sound, but who cares? Wish The Bangles were there too!
When I was a teenager my cousin used to listen to these guys. This song was the only one of theirs I could actually listen to and sorta enjoy...ironically it was his least liked of all by this group (he felt it was too "pop-like")
I thought I recognized the Peterson sisters and Michael Steel of the Bangles. I saw that tour and it was simply fabulous. If memory serves me, Ms. Steel was romantically linked to one of the Gurus, but I don't know who but he was one lucky bloke. I went to 9 Mardi Gras during late '80s and early '90s. . it's freaky to think that our paths might have crossed in the world's most decadent party city. Great times indeed.
Sorry Michael did date hime then, but the aforementioned is current from what I have heard. I cannot say a source (not that a name you dont know would really mean anything) but its well known Michael was always Bi, and now is what it is.
May I ask why the reply of " oh dear"?? crapple009?
Thanks for posting this video. What a great band. I wish they would have had more success. I saw them in 89',awesome show. This brings back great memories from college. Put a smile on my face today. Thanks!!

these guys remind me of the Smithereens, tasty four-man band guitar rock, except the Gurus are positive and the Smithereens are negative in outlook

to think they had The Bangles as back up singers for this

Yep. They are credited with backup vox on this track. It's pretty obvious who's singing when they repeat "times we had".
