  • idiots of riders !

  • Every single 'accident' in this video was caused by the riders. Instead of praising the riders for being able to hold on, just look at what they're doing. They pull the reins, and kick the horse at the same time, and the horse still tries to do it's best. The horse bucks as a CLEAR sign of pain and discomfort, but they just keep on kicking and pulling the reins. The riders deserved what happened. Accident or not - this should never, ever happen. No horse deserves this. Simply horrible.

  • @ElisabethHolmane I was one of the riders in this video....have you ever ridden a barrel horse? i didn't think so....why don't you keep jocking your couch and let us do what we do. Accidents happen and i assure you when your horse launches/bucks or rears 9 times outta 10 its not something you as a rider KNOW is going to happen...reins aren't being jerked on purpose theres a 1200lb animal between our legs tossing us around. anyways go jockey your couch.

  • @Jess03Hilton19 Do you ever care, or wonder why the horse bucks? This is not normal behavior for a horse, and I assure you it won't happen unless they experience some sort of panic or pain. For example if they're in pain caused by a kicking rider or spurs, and when they try to run away, are being held back by reins. I don't need to jockey my couch, I have my own horse, thank you very much. A horse that has never ever showed any behavior even remotely similar to this. Because he doesn't need to.

  • @ElisabethHolmane oh really so at, 1:54 its the riders fault the bridle came off ? wow.

  • @ElisabethHolmane and I guess who think its the riders fault when the horse slips and falls.

  • People tell me horse back riding isnt a sport....Hell Yeah it is its a hard sport your controlling a 1000 pound animal!

  • most of those were tantrums but seriously some of them kept pulling back when their horses reared seriously how stupid can u get, and as for the ones that bucked at the gate i give the riders credit bc the horses were acting up bc they obviously didnt wnt to or didnt feel like doing what they were supposed to and they needed to shown whose boss.

  • only one exclamation comes to mind and I cannot say it here! wow

  • I give props to the girls that their horse actually slipped going around the barrel...Bc Ive been rodeoing my entire life and i have only had one accident while making a run bc my horse fell with me. But these idiots on this video need to go back to the practice pen and learn how to ride and warm their horses up like they are supposed to!

  • This is why you should were a helmet wether its western or english riding So what if a helmet dont match the out fit least you have less chance of you getting brain damage

  • The horse at 2:05 was like "see, all i wanted you to do was fall off" cause he/she stopped right after the rider fell

  • @equistera that horse was a colt at the time and the girl riding that colt is a BIG NAME in the barrel horse industry.

  • Barrel Racing Isn't a Easy As It May Look, I Used To Race But I Quit And Now I Cheer(:

  • you know you guys wanna slap this girls in the face but how do u know they werent ready....................girls in this video RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh and not to menion if they wouldnt post this videoes i wouldnt be 1/2 the barrel racer i am bc these girls and even then men help me.. i learn from other ppls mistakes

  • i love the way the clips go with the song!!! I think it is clear that most accidents in every sport are caused because the human beeing is making the mistake...

  • Cowboys should wear helmets too!

  • 1:36 was his one fault ;$

  • accidents happen yha i know i might show mini in all and we have a saddle horse but my one has made me scared of her driveing

  • Ah fuck up and stop bitching, accidents happen! get over it aye, its not your problem! (:

  • What do you expect you just pretty much pulled the horse over. Getting bucked of is not an accident it is a part of rodeo and riding. If you can't handle it find a different sport. If you can't stay on when your horse turns a barrel then you shouldn't be running barrels you need to go back to the practice pen and learn how to ride. This is a joke it makes me laugh. Don't get me wrong there are a few slides where the horses slipped that could of been pretty bad but thats part of rodeo.

  • ok people. You are giving rodeo and barrel racing a bad name. This is just stupid. Some of these slides where real accidents when the ground gets to deepp horses do slip and it can be very dangerous and scary. But most of these slides or just people that don't know how to ride and don't know there horses or spend enough time with them in and out of the arena. Most of the slides are pilot err. You can't jerk on a horses mouth and get mad at the horse when they flip with you.

  • if your horse isn't ready (or your not ready) don't go into competitions. Barrel Racing isn't a simple competition... there is training needed and there could be serious consequences for both you and the horse. hate for that to happen. :(

  • When we ride... we should always keep in mind, it's always the riders fault... never the horse. We choose to ride these horses... and we KNOW they can do damage to us... but that's no reason NOT to ride. It is dangerous, but it's worth it... and you should always get back in the saddle! (:

  • i love barrel racing, but the thing with a few of these riders is that they ONLY barrel race their horses, they don't do ground work as well, making them crazy, and when they do get over-excited the rider pulls on their mouths making them rear, and everyone blames the horse. These people are great riders, sometimes i just wish they would think about whats going to be better for the horse, instead of whats going to be better for the win.

  • this is what horse people go through no matter what they are riding. Now other people cant say its an easy sport!

  • @Kallikster the reason they are sliding is cause they are trying to get their ass under them so they can continue running or because it was bad footing for the horse. they were definatly not running to fast

  • For one almost every horse that fights at the start gate is very excited about running so people should not be so judge mental. i love to barrel race and so does my horse... and i can tell cause i had surgery and couldnt run her and when i couldnt she got mad and tore apart her stall...

  • I was looking throught the comments, people accidents happen if that too hard 4 u 2 understand you should get off this video right now

  • im an expierence rider myself the reason why they do that is because they are being push out of their limit and they aren't being treated right .

  • @joe45663433 no that is not the only case. have you ever been on a horse that had something get under the saddle blanket? they will buck. same with if they happen to get stung by a bee or something. anything that will cause discomfort will cause a horse to buck. its not just because they are being pushed too hard or arent being treated right. apparently you aren't an experienced rider if you didn't know that

  • I hate when people think riding horses is not a sport and it is a easy thing we do!! I hate it! I mean i do not see them going and running a horse! I can Not explain How hard it is to ride a horse It takes skill! I have fallen a couple times in my past but It doesnt make a difference I always get back up! I love horses they are my life!

  • The reason their sliding is cuz their goin too fast

  • the horse that rared and landed on its side would have went to the sale barn had it been mine evidently it wasnt trained right and that can be very dangerous to both horse and rider!!!!!

  • @barboro1 I know it looked like an IDIOT!!! It was actin up before the run!

  • @ColtenDiamond yes very much so anytime we got a horse that bucked when i was younger my mom always sold them because she said there are to many good horses out there that dont due that (now mind you if they were young it wasnt the same story for them) just the ones that were say 9-whatever the ones that should have been broke lol

  • @SmilesAllRoundxx1 a lot of horses enjoy this. not all of them flip out like this. and we do not kick our horses til they are bruised, for instrance, i mouth train, meaning i dont kick i click. its a lot easier in my opinion, and me and my horse love barrel racing. and i knwo this because when i put him into pasture he runs out to the training barrels and starts weaving around them and plays with the other horses.

  • @jukka2311 most people do both click and kick it is a way of having more control.. when i am just wanting to run in a field i click and dont kick but when my horse knows that she is supposed to give it all she has then i put a lil pressure with my feet while clicking... and most horses do enjoy it.. so i agree with you...

  • okay so that loos like the same arena so they need to check that arena because both girls fell off at the same spot!

  • The idea is that A) some of these horses should be better broken B) some of these riders are idiots and C) some of these riders are not idiots but were just having an off day. I've been riding since I was sitting up. I've never sat in an English saddle. The majority of these clips were small mistakes on the riders' parts, probably things they were too nervous to notice. Either that or too tired (most dont sleep the night before a show).

  • 2.31 that bitch deserved it!

she had lose reins then all of a sudden jerked the horses mouth..

from no contact AT ALL! to a horrible sharp jerk...

  • Saw that one coming at :24. Horsellover02 put it best lol.

  • Horse goes crazy and she is calm enough when not at competitions I ride her in hunter hack and I never use a helmet when riding and jumping English either except at competitions. A helmet doesn't really stop anything how many people do you know actually got anything worse than a concussion on their head helmet don't stop you from breaking your arm etc

  • @Scarred636 Yeah, but a helmet can keep you from having permanent brain damage. I promise, a helmet can save your life. It saved one of my friend's lives. She got kicked in the head hard enough to shatter her skull. She was wearing a helmet. It got cracked. She got a headache.

  • Wow you people need a life I barrel raced since I was 5 and am now 21. My world champ gets so hyper it takes 15 minutes to get in the arena and she's not crazy. And I never ride with a helmet. My other state champion horse slips horses slip when the arena isn't deep not because of the rider or the horse. If your horse slips or running on shallow ground put polo shoes on them it helps and also I do hunter hack on my barrel horses to give them something else to do and when I'm at a rodeo my barre

  • You make it seem like this only happens to barrel racers! I was on my tb mare the other day going over a jump and she missed the correct footing which hurts alot more than one of these falls. And half these accident could have been prevented with shoes. Common sense

  • to HorseLady77 I have an Arabian and we barrel race. It doesn't matter what kind of horse you have or what kind of riding you do. You can always get hurt!

  • @lexxxyx13 true that, i ride Arabians now and some are calmer than the thoroughbred i ride at home, same with the paint, and welsh pony. the paint was a barrel racer and one of the kindest things ever, we let little kids on him, the welsh was the one who would kill you!

  • looks like the arena was to deep when the horse slid @ 1:18

  • 0:35 That was dumb. Not only did she run the pattern after her horse is acting a fool, & not correct him, but she was pulling the horse backwards.... After the horse was rearing!

  • An example of why I ride arabians and don't barrel race lol

  • I will tell you now, it doesn't matter how much 'slow work' a barrel horse gets. they know when it's time to run and most of them would probably still act like that. I ride my horse performance everyday unless I'm at competition, and he still acts like an idiot when I get ready to run, and he is dead broke.

  • it happens. any thing that your horses dose is always because of you. if your horses has a good run then you rode good if your horses dose somthing roung you probly did somthing roung

  • Alot of these riders are terrible

  • some of these people are ranked as professionals. they know what they're doing.

shit happens. horses slip. horses get excited. horses get nervous. horses get pissed off. nothing you can do about it. you guys need to chill. everyone has bad days. & the first video was on untamed & uncut. the bit in the horses mouth, didnt have the gaurd, & was pinching the horses lip. which is why he was acting the way he was. it didnt have anything to do with the way she was sitting, ect.

  • this must be some terrible riders at some kind of clinic deal to get better because it is the same arena...these people really cannot ride to save their life... i think my 10 yr old brother could ride better than that

  • just outta curiosity but could the bucking be caused by the riders losing balance and gripping with their feet/legs around the horses gut?? because they only seemed to buck when the legs are back on the horses gut ?? just wondering

  • most of these accidents if you look carefully its from the Flashes from the Cameras

  • hay I have an idea...lets yank the horses faces off. That always calms my barrel horse down >.<

  • umm question... dont you think they should have helmets on for that exact reason...

  • @rainbowmoney444 THANK YOU!!!!!!! EXACTLY!!!!!!!! oh my god finally!!!!!!! im starting to barrel race my lazy ass pony who cant pick his feet up over a 1ft jump and i ALWAYS wear a helmet, they dont wear one cuz they think it looks better, sureeee why not care about safety when u look good right??

  • @HorseChickz it bugs me soooo much i have a friend like that, she's was always like " no i dont need one my horse wont do anything" then she feel and hit her head and got a concussion... the next day i just gave her a funny look and said i told you to wear a helmet.

  • @rainbowmoney444 omg!!! im so sorry about ur friend :'( but see ppl cant say that because i mean horses can be VERY unpredictable and i mean even if u dont fall THEY could fall on YOU so i would be pissed and concerned for her. she really lucky she ddnt bash her head open. Barrel racing without helmets is like jumping without helmets!!

  • wow these are some truely god awful riders

  • owwwwwwwwww poor horses and ppl!

  • darling i was brought up on a horse and worked with national hunt steeplechasers for20 yrs,i can sit a bucking horse ina racing saddle. i don't comment on things i don't know about and i know when i can see appalling horsemanship

  • most of these people can't bloody well ride and shouldn't be let anywher near a horse

  • @sjb37bur Have you ever tried barrel racing? Have you ever ridden? Accedents can happen, and even more in Barrel Racing. When your going that fast, it's hard to keep control, and I'm not gonna lie, some of them DID run their horses even after they bucked at the gate, so in that case it as their own stupid fault (lol), but i want to give them credit. I would like to see YOU stay on that long on a bucking horse

  • Mmmm... Most horses that buck at the gate, then the riders make them go on, they will most likely buck again sometime in the pattern.

    2:30 ow...

  • thumbs up if u like the horse at 0:48

  • If you actually LOOK in some of these videos some of these falls are in the same arena.

So theres a good chance it IS the footing. I've been to shows where everyone from my barn had trouble staying up and we've all been riding forever.

Sure sometimes its human error or horse error but did you ever think sometimes its the ground?

  • its not the fall that hurts its the sudden crash when u hit the ground

  • No the horses slid because of the footing you jackass. Them sliding has nothing to do with rider control. AND most barrel racing horses are hot, which is rearing, sometimes bucking, backing and all the above. Yes some horses should go back to a slow pattern but, Some horses are just hot, it's the adrenaline. Same as people you fuck-tard.

  • None of my past comments are untrue

  • The girl at 0:37 was kicking and pulling back at the same time....sweetie if you want him to back, lightly tap your reins back and squeeze with your spurs....barrel racers...most dont know jack about training on a horse.

  • @spadehorse23 i dont think she was meaning to back up her horse....

  • @wickedlytwilight yeah no shit, i was being sarcastic lol

  • @spadehorse23 oh haha

  • No offense to anyone. People, you guys need to learn how to ride! secondly, i find it rather humorous what people comment about. You are going to ruin your horse doing this! there is nothing to ruin. These horses are all half broke like i said, and have not been trained worth crap. you have an animal that you are on with no control, and that does not even know which way is up. The training methods behind barrel racing goes to show what kind of horse you get.

  • I'm a barrel racer and this only happens once in a million ... and its mainly cause the rider is nervous ... and that excites the horse and its not good to yank the horse because it makes the HARD mouthed only horsey people know that so most of you dont no a thing

  • @AwesomeKidz101 and because the rider doesnt know what they are doing. If you pay attention to the vid you see that when the horse flips over the rider is in its mouth and pulling back, they pull back when the horse rears up and thats NEVER a good idea. give your horse its head when they do that, i am not bashing you but most barrel racers suffer from lack of know how when it comes to training on a horse. i dont know you so i am not sayin you are one of them i was just making a point.

  • @AwesomeKidz101 No offence but, this doesn't happen cause the rider is nervous, it happens cause these kids don't kno how to ride and are riding out of control retards!

  • @AwesomeKidz101 Ok, first of all, this happens because people are riding dumbass horses that aren't trained worth crap. (Excuse me) Secondly, all of these people cannot ride a horse! sure, they can stay on, but the horse is out of control and if the person wanted to stop the horse, they couldn't. i do not understand buying a horse like this. Most of these horses are green broke anyways. Now don't take this the wrong way, i mean no disrespect, i am just saying it as it is...

  • @Coltcowhorse2228 honestly i think you know nothing but SHIT ur not a horse persons asswhole and... wtf the people in the video could have stopped the horses u dont no shit so shut ur F*king mouth city slicker!!!

  • First, calm down dude, i cannot believe you are getting all worked up over an opinion. I do own horses. In fact, i show reined cow. I am not a city slicker. All of my opinions were only based on this video, and had nothing to do with all of barrel racing. Personally I do believe this sport is pointless. After rereading my comments i was very judgmental and i am sorry for that.

  • @Coltcowhorse2228 ummm no horse is a dumbass its the riders fault and some riders are good but the horse of the rider prob wasnt having the best day it happens to everyone

  • I've found that it's better to pull your horse in tight circle when it acts up than YANK ON IT'S MOUTH!!! Mostly riders error, but that doesn't make it a bad video :)

  • Wow..Stupid people, there was a reson for every single spill in this video and none were the horses fault...What a shame

  • @katchkittie you are right. every single person in this video cannot ride a horse. plus the horse is hardly broke.

  • this is why i wear a helmet when i ride. this sport is one of the most dangerous; you're riding something that has its own mind. regardless of what kind of horse you have, it can be the quietest or the hottest, you NEVER know what can happen with these animals.

  • i dont barrel race but i do ride.and if u dont think riding is a sport then ur insane! and out of all the riding styles i would say jumping and barrel racing are the most dangerous riding styles.

  • I think Barrel racing is very dangerous, the rider can be one of the 'best in the world' but you never know when a horse could slip, this is why I think Barrel racers should wear a riding hat.

  • I love this video. It show's that riding horses is harder then it looks. People are stupid if they think that it ant hard or dangerous. Well you people that thinks it's easy n crap well think different. Horse riding is the the second most dangerous sport in the world. :p SO BEET THAT!!! :D

P.s Some people just don't no how to hold on haha

  • I love this video. It show's that riding horses is harder then it looks. People are stupid if they think that it ant hard or dangerous. Well you people that thinks it's easy n crap well think different. Horse riding is the the second most dangerous sport in the world. :p SO BEET THAT!!! :D

  • 1:27. Yeah that helps, idiot. Start pulling in the horses mouth to agitate it ever further.

  • Haha trust me barrel racing accidents are always the worse. I fell of my horse because she took a sharp turn once we got done doing the pattern it was reaalllyyy funny but it hurt sooo bad!

  • @blown93coupe

breeding and some with the same blood won't

  • @BarrelRacingChic00

Reining horses are quiet because the level of horsemanship and communication between the horse and rider required to do a reining pattern. That sort of training isn't commonly practiced by your average barrel racer. You will never see a reining horse getting yanked/whipped in competition. Barrel racing roughs up horses creating nervous/over excited horses likely to act out. If I knew going in the ring ment I was going to be roughed up I wouldn't act nicely in the shoot.

  • @blown93coupe very true, lets just hope there are others with this knowledge.

  • @blown93coupe

Well.. the reason for that is every reining horse or jumping horse isn't hot-bred. Which clearly means that barrel horses and racing horses are bred to run. Jumping horses and reining horses aren't bred to run they are bred to look good and jump/rein.. If you look not ALL barrel horses "bounce as you call it" in the alleyway.. Most (including mine) don't "bounce" in the alley. My horse is hot-bred from racing (quarter horses) blood. It is just that some do because of there

  • @BarrelRacingChic00

You have grossly under estimated the athleticism and speed involved in stadium jumping. Stadium jumping is not only a timed event but also one that requires the horse to maneuver through tight jump courses often asking the horse to bend and make precision turns not much different then barrel racing. Eventing is even more demanding in its need of speed and athleticism, eventing is also a timed event. Stadium jumping does not evaluate equitation.

  • @BarrelRacingChic00

I feel the people that you speak of that are breeding horses so "hot" on purpose should consider breeding for not only physical ability but temperament. Its pointless to have a fast horse if it doesn't have a solid mind. behaviors like being ring sour, bolting, and rearing are not something anyone should just accept, its dangerous and irresponsible. It seems the issue is not so much in the pedigree but the training and what barrel racing does to a horse.

  • @blown93coupe The rearing and crap that they do is mainly because of the way the horse was trained. I train barrel horses and reining horses, and I the only time that their training differs is when it comes time to start them on their event. I start both out slow and easy so they learn not to get over excited none of my barrel horses act like the horses in this video because they were trained to act calm. Before I even sell one of my horses to someone I make sure that they know how to ride

  • @blown93coupe properly. Because if you jerk on them they will, 9 times out of 10, rear and fall down because it hurts them. I have a lot of "hot" bred horses and none of them act like it. You wouldn't know they were unless you looked at their papers. The attitude of a horse can change, it just depends on how you treat them, and how you train them.

  • @blown93coupe Training is only one aspect to getting a good horse for any discipline. Another big factor in how a horse acts is how they are born. You are not going to quiet a crazy horse, stop it from having buck in it, or rearing for that matter. I don't understand why these crazy people go around and hold on to a horse with a problem. You are probobly not going to fix it. get rid of it! there is always something better closer to you then you think.

  • THIS IS NOT MEANT TO MAKE ANYONE MAD but I think barrel racers are getting strung out over nothing. a lot of videos lk this r made to show "its not easy!!!" but we all know that! if u look at the huge number of barrel racing videos and fans, we dnt hav to argue about anything. any sport involving horses is tough in its own way, we all just have different tastes. every horse acts up, but its not always recorded. even ranch horses and roping horses act up or mess up!!

  • Yes most people that have cow-bred horses and they act up in the alleyway run them alot.

Brian Wheeler- He has a hot-bred horse named "Peaches" or SX Dr Peacherita. If you watch his runs she acts up in the alleyway all the time because she is hyper but I know Brian he is one of my best friends and he only runs her at shows when shes supposed to run. Other than that he slow works her only. She doesn't even see a barrel until show time.

  • Has anyone else noticed that EVERYBODY who does a sport OTHER than barrel racing always comment on how bad and cruel it is? Well have you ever thought to realize that your sport is cruel too? Didn't think so! Well.. most of these people's horses that act up in the alleyway are hot-bred. Which means that they were bred to run and be used for barrel racing, so they are ready to run and like to run so they are hyper.

  • @BarrelRacingChic00

If your reasoning is true explain for me 1st why isn't EVERY reining horse or jumper bouncing about before class? Have you also given notice that not even every Thoroughbred on a track bounces about ? There is a high incidence of being ring sour in barrel racing. Seems like a strong correlation between bad behavior and the type of barrel racing horsemanship practiced. It seems to be most prevalent on the lower levels of barrel racing.

  • they might be pumped but bouncing and jumping and bucking at the start gate is not respecting you. both rider and horse need to work as a team and if you are at the start gate and there not respecting you then you need to forfit and take a breather. its not worth hurting you or your companion over a game. endangering animals is not cool and i frown on you if you think it is ok.

  • @MsBabybee123 this is not meant to make u mad or argue...but for those who do not forfit, it's because we're taught that walking away is rewarding your horse for bad behavior, so we make them finish what they start wether its the alleyway or on the run home. we never know if our horse is just tossing his head in excitement or trying to say my leg hurts i dnt wanna go. its not about the run or the money. at least not for me.

  • Thumbs up if u agree, if ur horse is walking into the arena, rearing, bucking, then you shouldnt run the pattern, correct them and dont let them go out, and if u do got out, circle them like crazy, its not worth it to ruin ur horse

  • @horsellover02 Umm thank yoU! If their freaking out, make them go in, gain control and TROT it, they dont need to run! safety first, dont ruin your horse

  • @horsellover02---No i don't agree. Alot of barrel horses are hot. Mine are hot like that just, not all of them get overly excited and flip over. That has nothing to do with the rider and You don't circle them like crazy. You don't barrel race do you, you can't cause your a dumbass.

  • @Justsweet33 im sorry, i wasnt trying to insult anybody. You said, not all horses get overly excited and flip over, I'm talking about the ones that do. If your horse gets excited and flip out, you should sit calmly in the saddle and correct them. And by correcting them, you don't give them what they want. I said circling because the womans horse in this vid flipped on top of her because she was backing up, she should of circled. I apologize if I insulted you, and I do barrel race, its my life.

  • @horsellover02 why no helmets?

  • @demesnedancer

    What?

  • @horsellover02 its strange the riders dont wear helmets while on horseback

  • @demesnedancer i never said anything about helmets...

  • @horsellover02 True. Although, if you look at a barrel racer, its kinda obvious why they come off! They don't have any idea how to ride a horse. This is why so many people get hurt. When you are on a horse, you are constantly training on it. No offense, but most horse people are very naive. I personally cannot say much more do to the fact that i do reined cow, but i am 14 and Its clear to me why reiners don't come off horses like this. A horse is an animal. Small brain. Only thinks instinct.

  • @Coltcowhorse2228 finally!! someone else who enjoys a good bridle horse lol

  • @Coltcowhorse2228 First of all, have you ever ridden a horse???? they do NOT have small brains in fact they are one of the smartest animals next to dogs. Second of all, have you ever really ridden a horse or have you just been around them, watched them in arenas, anything?? plus MOST horse riders aren't naive!!! MOST of them know more about horses then you EVER will!! and its definately not the horses fault that it gets pissed off. its probably the dumbass riding it!

  • Exactly!! =}

  • Good video, i really liked it :)

Barrel racing is my thing so i like to see others into the sport 2 :)

  • Comment removed

  • My horse rears up like the first horse. But she has reared higher while i barrel raced. So she is getting trained. Nice video :)

  • Crazy barrel horses. No thanks. I will do barrel racing on my haflinger stallion but not full time, these horses know nothing else and get so jacked up, its crazy! why not have an all around horse? well MOST 'barrel' horses ONLY do barrels, correct myself there.

  • Holy Crap, that one horse broke it's leg!!

  • all the horses that reared or flipped over is because the person is pulling back when the horse is reacting. so the person actually caused the horse to rare or flip. O.O

  • I feel so bad for that one lady whose horse's headstall fell off. That would be horrifying! I like this because there are falls where it's bad dirt, or they just made a bad turn. And then there are riders who should've just fallen off sooner because they were bumping their horse with their spurs and making the bucking worse, since the second they fell off the horse stopped. So it was either a tricky horse or scared horse. Overall fun to watch

  • im glad that the girls horse in the second accident walked away bcuz that was bad

  • Cannot wait to barrel race even after watching that lol

  • Some of those people that fell.. fell because their heels were not down. But some did fall cause loosing a stirrup and sliding etc.. Thats the most important thing in barrel racing heels down.

  • I am amazed at the stupidity of the riders and how unbroke and inflexible most of the horses are...several of the horse are showing that they are sore or hurting...especially the last ones that are bucking...

  • @horselover00100 wel call me lucky then because when i was ten years old that happened tome he reared upi and flew up in the air and next thing i know he was ontop of me and ppl were rushing to me!!!

  • All the horses that reared up only did because the riders were yanking up and back on the horses mouth and thats the result! The horses that sliped was because of the arena most likely and to wide of turns that the rider tried to over correct. My horse slipped and fell on me when our arena was barely wet but enough to make her hoof slip in it when we were practiceing so i def. knw how that feels.

  • And this is the reason I lope my horse around outside the arena before I run. A horse that has been worked and is in good shape can be worked a little before their run and it brings the edge off. :)

  • good horses, stupid riders.

  • this is why you should always wear a helmet cause a hats not gonna save you

  • @AppaLoosa25 Helmets dont do a crap if you fall hard enough. Helmet free forever cause what i do, it can injure you worse than if your not wearing one.

  • @Haileyandbuddy I'm sorry it was just my opinion if I hadn't worn a helmet I would probaly be dead right Now and ur comment makes no sense at all???? Anyway just a opinion nothing more nothing less

  • Some horses I see go crazy when they even see the barrels. That sickens me.. People like that dont even walk the pattern. they just run, run, run. Horrible. And not all of these accidents were the peoples fault. Horses can fall. Happens all the time. Happened to me twice. The bucking is a sign of an irritated horse- probably bad training. Sick.

  • @CuttingHorse22 my horse jumps around when he sees the barrels that not mean bad training it sometimes means the horse is hot

  • @barrellracer4evers I do realize that. My comment was not pointed at you. I just see alot of horses that are totally calm until they see a barrel. But yes I understand it isnt always bad training.

  • @CuttingHorse22 it k

  • barrel racing is my life but in the fair of '09 i fell off my 2D barrel racer at his fastes and if i was not wearing my helmet i probably would not be able to do stuff on my own i would be one of those kids people call -Mentally Retarded so thank you dad for persuading me to wearing my helmet : )

  • barrel horses arnt crazy... They have so much going on in their head their wind theirself up, because real barrel horses- they LOVE their job and a lot of the time will get hyper at the gait and put uup a fuss cause the want to run! No matter how quiet the are on the flat and ground. My horse is a perfect example, its not unusual for a horses personality to change once their in the arena.

Great video btw, watched the whole thing...

  • @sinjon228 Amen to that we have a gedling that loves to run in circles so we tried him out on barrels, hes our new barrel horse.

  • I think it's kind of funny how people who don't know anything about barrel racing come on here and try to criticize riders about "winding their horses up" and stuff. You have no clue what that horse might be like. I was racing a horse for a while who had a fear of bulls and when we'd go up the the gate she'd get jumpy and give me a hard time and then take off like a bat out of hell into the arena. It's all in the horse. Don't criticize or talk crap until you've tried it.

  • there asking for it really, 1) deliberately winding up their horses before going into the ring,2) not wearing hats 3)going insanely fast so their horses cant turn the corners properly..i could go on...

  • I ride Western. My cowgirl roots grow so deep there is a monk on the other side of the world digging up boots in his garden.

Seriously, is it really worth the risk of becoming permanently impaired/crippled in some freakish accident? I never used to wear a helmet until a little 10 year old girl was dismounting from her horse and the horse moved a little causing the girl to fall and hit her head on a rock. The girl died.

I've worn a helmet ever since.

  • I still can't get over how western people will not wear helmets!!!

  • @annxtte hahaha i have one but i HATE it lol

  • @annxtte well its simple... we dont care cuz we r cowgirls!

  • @annxtte well its simple... we r cowgirls!

  • my favorite is the 2:30

  • love the hOrse at 2:33 S tail :)

  • These people are idiots. Every single one of them, ruining horses. Running them full out with sharp turns like that is not for morons. And it isn't for un-conditioned horses. It takes a lot of time, effort and proper training. All of which these "riders" clearly lack. I feel bad for the horses having to put up with them.

  • @xxSharpSide and how would u no anything bout the life of the rider or the horses maybe they were having a bad day like everyone does

  • @lilsparkley17 No, this is not a bad day. You have to be downright ignorant if you believe this is a "bad day". A properly trained horse and a non-moronic rider will not have bad days like these. That woman with the bucking horse is YANKING on his mouth the entire time. What is she accomplishing? Further ruining him. I barrel race, I know horses. I'm not an expert but I'm not ignorant.

  • shut the bobba up wat wud you do if a horse was going spaz on you bloody pat it and give it a carrot ? NO ya hold on for ya dear life then get of and wonder wat the fudge happend we dont think wen our life is at risk

  • some of those people were goin round` the barrels WAY to fast and thats why the horses fell rlly the idiots need to slow down

  • wow that looked like all those accidents hurt badly

  • AW! 1:00 GORGEOUS HORSE!
