You simply take the words out of my mouth on ALL topics in the videos Iv'e seen so far. This is no exception. I am a woman, childless and sooo thankful for it! I am neither ready nor willing to do all it takes to raise a truly healthy human within this society. People seem to find this so confusing (like many of my choices), while they and their children stress and suffer...
You never need to complete a marriage with children. Regardless of pro life issues and the catholic church thing, future parents needs to plan a family and also limited to what they could afford. Pro life and Catholic are not being realistic as many can not afford too many children and also health risk and also being metally prepaired.
There is something called the fertility rate of nations. The irreversible cutoff is 1.8. That is where the US stands. Many European countries are well below. What this means is that cutoff number is what is necessary for a culture to survive. In 15 to 20 years our culture will be gone. But guess who has the highest fertlity rate? Muslim countries. Since we are at the end of the world as we know it maybe all this is ok. Maybe there is a reason we don't have that strong desire anymore.
Steve, I enjoy watching your videos and think you have great insights, but can you please smile more......."Angels can fly because they take themselves lightly."
Steve.....please let me tell you something that you probably already know. The female (us) are programmed (whatever that means)to want to HAVE A BABY. This is a biological force. For most of us it is very difficult to ignore, these are interesting times. Peace & Love
@maryswilde I should hope that people making babies could apply a bit more consciousness rather than animal instinct. there is a lot at stake. I am a woman, and have no desire whatsoever to have a baby, never have. Lots of women don't, we realize there is more to life than that.
@maryswilde Mary, let me tell you something. The females (us) are programmed by the government, and society to want to HAVE A BABY. It is a psychological force. For most of us, it's very difficult to ignore with the dirty air & food, fluoride treatments, the television, and music at 440hz that calcifies our brains. I have a healthy body, a working vagina, and I don't ever want to have a baby. Peace & Love
"Creation is as noble form of being than procreation is" I was told one day and you seem to clarified this line of thought in this web-cast. I seriously think that people should be issued permits before they have children just like they issue driving permits to allow people to kill them. Excuse my cynicism but you see what I mean.
Permits would never work. But how about education? People think children is the answer to their unhappiness. Only to later realize it exacerbates their inner turmoil. Before having children we should get our own spiritual house in order. Being a parent is a high calling and people should consider the immense sacrifice which must be made to raise a healthy child.
Of course my repply was "Tongue on cheek" or as you said in one of your blob "Saying it wrong" I think that it is interesting to postulate the absurd as an extreme and then consider reality. Your sister must be a bit disturb by your comments about your nervous nephews but I guess she must be use to your elucubration by now which we all love
your honesty is refreshing! I totally agree that far too many ppl have kids to fill a void and the child is born with the job of "completing me, getting my parents approval, etc.." its a decision to really reflect on internally!-are you mature enough, physically, emotionally, mentally and financially stable enough?? there should be requirements for breeding! it sounds insane but we'd really have a better society as a whole. Its not your god-given right to breed but rather are you fit to parent??
Very True! It should be a "concious decision" and not done just to get along with the crowd. Having children brings out a "responsible being" inside you.A responsible individual is always concious and commits him/herself to the situation no matter wht the outcome is coz ur ready to face it.May b thts why they say having kids makes u grounded. Humility shouldn't b misunderstood as burdensome.
I totally agree, you do not need to marry. However, today we have lessor people who maintain moral and social values. There are also less than 1% honest people now. Many are greedy and selfish. Therefore we cannot say that societies and humans are "better" than before.I believe that if there was a family (Either Children or a group of people)people could interact with on a daily basis, they will be more human and have values. It is a lack of caring for other humans that has destroyed the world.
What an intelligent young man, I'm a woman and haven't had any and I am so happy and full of energy . It is the biggest con going that they will bring happiness even my friends who have them tell me they felt they had been conned, they are not necessary to keep the species going if anything we will ruin our planet far faster if we keep breeding in such an arrogant way.
You can I'm sure feel a great loss with them a loss of the individuality of the self
Thank you for sharing your perspective. The higher we evolve spiritually the less dependent we become on external things to make us happy. Procreation can be a wonderful blessing for those who are willing to make the necessary sacrifice to raise an emotionally, spiritually, & physically healthy child. Let an inner calling lead us to procreate instead of conforming to societal expectations.
It is your CHOICE to have children or not and to give any kind of excuses to have or to not have them. But it is your DUTY to take care of them when you have them. Choice, duty, responsibilities, decisions... all become just futile "words" when you go back home after a had day working and you find your kid at home cheering you to welcome you and animating your life with joy and break you from as a conscience the "ego you". This moment of joy that you share with your kid is priceless.
Precious yes; priceless no. Having children has a HUGE financial, emotional, price not to mention the loss of freedom. Agreed, it is a worthy trade-off for many. But we should adequately weigh the scales of cost vs reward.
Agreed with the finance part, you must have a MINIMUM to take care of a child. But the "freedom" is very relative. Do not confuse "lasyness" with "freedom"... I repeat it is your CHOICE to conceive or not, especially when you are single.
Most parents say there is a huge loss of freedom. It really has more to do with what you want out of life than laziness. I wouldn't call childless couples lazy because they prefer to devout there energies to their careers, travel, or charity work. Thanks for commenting.
Since awakening I now realize and deeply feel my connection and responsibility to ALL the children in the world. I don't miss parenthood at all; I am a parent to every child I encounter and I am open to the blessings that they bring me in return.
Fantastic insight! We don't need to "have" children in order to be a parent. We are all children's guardians when we see beyond physical forms, labels, and separateness.
Good Morning, Steve. What can you say about unconscious behaviour? People have NO IDEA the reasons behind "wanting" kids. In fact, that IS the problem-they "WANT". Want want want! They feel empty (just like I used to feel). If not a new house or car then a child! "Look at this thing I made"! "it gets good grades"!
Unconscious behavior is the engine which drives our lives. The question to ask is how can I become conscious. We reside in truth when our actions are born from the depth of our being. We then are not pushed around by societal pressures. Our true identity has nothing to do with a car, house or child.
Those two things are very connected. Quite alot of people only get into active thinking about procreation why/ or is it necessary that is they even reflect it at all because they are detached from procreation being natural - gay/lesbian. U were obviously reflecting on procreation (from a very detached point of view like is it worth it or not) and your on the spiritual road instead of having kids/wife etc. so that kind of popped into my mind but since it is not so ;-) ...
Yes, the message of the video is to understand the lifetime commitment and motivational forces behind the desire to procreate. Then one can make an enlightened decision.
If you are "normal", being that your genetic code is without major flaws, I think that it is very important that you should, at least greatly consider, passing on your legacy. You're right about it not being necissary for our immediate survival but the same technoledgy that has made that possible has made peole that, only a little time ago, would die off from defects to stay into the gene pool. This seems sinicle but it is true.

Yes and it is up to us as individuals to set the examples. Global consciousness begins with the man in the mirror.
