Jesus said that "an eye for an eye" was outdated. He reinforced the "turn the other cheek" ideology. Cheering for the death-penalty or anything like it is spiteful, vengeful and anti-Christian.
Whether the death penalty is necessary or not it should not be cheered or applauded if you proclaim yourself to be a follower of Christ.
Ur comment about it being a hypocricy of rep wanting smaller govt but having gov't decide death penalties is completely false because states decide death penalty requirements and whether to have the at all. Its the states right to decide its local policies, we dont want gov't intruding on our rites and lives, the states r allowed to run themselves Nd their policies on criminal punishment according to amendment 10:)
Its funny how you cut the video off of ron paul rite as he was about to:1)denounce the people cheering.2) show the reason it is a key issue is not that everyone HAST to be covered, but that it is the cost w/ all the gov't regulation and such that drive up the price to where not every1 can afford it. Common liberal ideolog doesnt show the whole truthlol.
It's much like communism; why should someone who works a harder job get the same pay as someone who works much less. I am not saying people deserve to die or that anyone is pushing communism, but there comes a point when benefits should go to those who worked for it.
Wait, hold on a minute. I am generally bi-partisan but this is going a little far to the left. I don't think the audience was cheering on the death penalty but cheering against Rick Perry from what I saw. Also, I don't think that someone who did not prepare and take the necessary measures for his health should be able to take away from others who did.
One of the benefits of the Australian political systems is that we strike a (not perfect) balance between socialism and capitalism. If you lack private health insurance, the government will offer support, the healthcare reform is like debates of the rights of other cultures, there is no reason not to accept it and it is opposed by morons who go home and sleep on piles of money,
You can bet your ass if one of those people clapping when Ron Paul answered that question did not have health insurance and fell ill to a critical disease and could not get health care and then told to "die", would be singing another tune altogether.
I love guns, I love (U.S. Hypocritical Falsified) jesus, I love the death penalty but abortion is murder!
I hate gays or them being married with equal rights. I only care about the wealthy what they want and how much they "donate" to me. I'm a republican and the safetys off! ::shoots a fag::
god bless aaaaaaaaamericaaa....my home sweet home....>_>
Later, gonna smoke some pot and watch boobs on redtube.
so you mean to say that its wrong to applaud the execution of 234 convicted killers? its wrong to take their lives when they so willingly took the lives of their victims? Thats eye for an eye justice and its been around for over 3000 years. You pussy ass Liberals want to take care of anyone and everyone, even convicted killers, without thinking of the drain on our economy your ideas would create. It's YOUR responsibility to take care of yourself, not the government's.
Also by your own numbers you say that the NHS costs "far less than the cost of insurance", so wouldn't that be an argument for nationalized health care (your first paragraph seems to be opposed to it)
I think some people here are gravely mistaken. US health care is so expensive BECAUSE the government interferes. Getting the government out of health care would go a long way to lowering the cost of going to the hospital. Secondly it is unfair to say Ron Paul is for death, he used to work for FREE to help people who couldn't foot their bills. Besides without income tax most people could afford health care of some sort...
Why can these people only see the world in terms of black and white? No healthcare or socialism, good or evil etc. The real world is never that clear cut.
Tea Partiers are libertarians now? I'm a libertarian and to me they're just fascists o__O
Then again, I'm one of those filthy British libertarian capitalists who supports public health care. A right to life makes no sense without a right to health care IMO.
You know its really annoying when looking for a clip of something and I keep seeing your videos you've spammed around instead -_- could you label your videos in a recognizable way.....Lately it seems like everytime I click a video to see the actual video I end up hearing your kid introducing your video and flipping my laptop across the room. Not saying your videos are bad its just I want to see the actual video and I cant tell if its your video or the real video.
At this stage it doesn't even matter if it's hypocrisy. We should rather just acknowledge that death penalty is wrong. The very concept sends the wrong message, there have been several executions where the guilt or the extent of the guilt of the executed person has been drawn into questions and of course death penalty in the US is far more expensive than life imprisonment. It's morally wrong and impractical.
Small gov't doesn't equal no gov't at all. And the gov't getting involved with health insurance has caused the prices to skyrocket. And that question to Ron Paul is a stupid one, we're people just dropping dead in the streets in the 60's? No because health care was much more affordable then. Look up John Stossel's video on health care, and take notes. Liberals have high jacked the term liberal and now it means the opposite of its intention.
grow up, Republicans is not a party, it's a lobby organisation for the rich. And what you call socialism is working a lot better in every respect than your idiotic elbow economic system. Look at the Scandinavian countries or us here in Germany. Better economy, a fraction of your extreme crime rates, less drug problems, less overweight people, which all comes with a bit more equality.
These same pro death conservatives are ironically pro life when it comes to abortions. The problem is if the child is born to a poor family w/o health care, these same conservatives pretty much tell them "So sorry for you luck!!" Then as this underprivileged child grows up to became an ANGRY adult (Who the conservative actually helped to create) & commits a Capitol Crime. The very same conservatives who fought for that persons "Right to life" as a fetus are now calling for it's death. WTF?!
At 4:10 "Is supporting the death penalty hypocritical for conservative Christians . . .?"
Jesus had this to say about the death penalty: 'Let he who is without sin cast the first stone'. Hence, the Quakers (a.k.a. the Religious Society of Friends) oppose the death penalty.
Now I've seen Ron Paul discussing his views on this subject and I know you were making a point more about the audience, but I thought it was a little cheap how you cut away from Paul before he could explain himself.
Whether this was bias or whether it was just the way you edited it for effect I don't know, but I would hope you would show the only real candidate running for nomination a little more respect, and that's coming from a Democrat who will be voting Obama.
Our political process is simply surreal. The right is like an anti intellectual movement. I can't believe that the GOP with all its resources can't get better candidates.
As for the moral issues like the death penalty and healthcare, it's sad they don't have more empathy.
I myself am a Christian, and I have a tough time with the hypocrisy. They do exactly what the bible says not to do. In fact, they use religion to justify themselves.
I hope most americans realize how crazy this all is.
@brik9r You're absolutely correct. I'm a non-theist and agree with you about the lack of compassion with this sad collection of GOP candidates. They blindly adhere to theocratic notions of doctrines and fail to contemplate the "it depends" factor that complicates solutions to very vexing problems in our society.
Well of course right-wing libertarians and fundies are pro-death. Haven't you noticed by now that these people are EVIL?
Sure THEY don't think so, but neither did the nazi's. And I've seen nazi propaganda (where they portrayed themselves as victims of the people they where victimizing at the time.)
Fact is, these are very bad people (protofascist really) and when shit DOES finally hit the fan, these are the guys that'll be shooting at you on behalf of their corporate masters.
Death is the answer to nothing, It solves nothing. You also see, to be insinuating that Ron Paul would like to see that man die, but this is not true. If you listen to what he says, he believes that he should be taken care of, but it isn't the government and there is no obligation for the government to do so. Last I checked America was 16 trillion in debt, or at least after that debt ceilling goes up, guess what you can't afford it. People should take care of people, Ron was a Doctor and did too
@ShepardsSpirit YOu are so misled ...LOL. So, it's the poor who created the deficit??? Wake up to reality. Even Warren Buffett and Bill Gates...who have much to lose....are smart enough to admit how unfair our tax system has been for many years now. What is DAVOS all about this year???? You're full of bullahit fed to you by FOX News and the fucking loony GOP./ Tea Party.
Ron Paul knows that people have decency and will help others if their not forced to. This is better that gov forcibly taking peoples money and spending much of it on killing people. Last century, 120 million people died because of Mao, Stalin, Hitler and many others. All these people witnessed what happens when government becomes too big.
I don't agree with these policies one bit, but to me letting someone die without government interference would mean a "smaller government", yet a "worse government"
Ron Paul has got it right. It's quite easy to look past his proposed policies - much in the manner the mainstream media does consistantly - and jump to conclusions. Like, what is "pro-death" about Paul's perspective on health care? Anyhow, this video asked the wrong [loaded] questions.
There are options for people who don't have health care - always has been. On top of that if the whole nation wasn't so poor and bankrupt charity would play a large part to fill those gaps. Wait, I can decide to help people instead of giving my money to government to do it for me? Government control is killing the people not the lack of socialism.
Should the guy without insurance be allowed to steal your money to sell get his healthcare, NO. But the fact that everyone cares about him proves that we don't need taxes, people care enough so we can let people give money to charity with 90% of it going to him and 10% to the bureaucrats. instead of it being stolen and 90% going to government employees and 10% to him
Cost of maintaining prisons and prisoners, maintaining quotas, victimized families urging the death penalty out of the need for closure, bias court systems, marginalized minorities, etc. It's a complex topic. I am against the death penalty because the system abuses its "power." Innocent people have been falsely sentenced to death. For whatever reasons, we are incapable of assuming personal responsibility for creating and ending life. I believe Dr. Paul is correct.
@tontsa911 Regardless, the ugly repubs is a deadly party. I registered as one for the first time in my life and almost died that one year. I sure got the hell out. It would be stupid to ignore such a message....
I support the death penalty if the criminal has committed a serious act and all level of debt has been eliminated, thus it's been confirmed they did the crime.
But i feel for low level crimes the prison system should be based more on what you have in Norway i believe since that system seems to prove very effective at reducing a person chance of going back.
I used to think Ron Paul was a good man despite being crazy about his religion. Not anymore. Fuck Ron Paul. I do not care if you choose Obama / Mitt Romney as your next president and go to war against Iran and trigger WW3. I just don't care anymore. Your president candidates suck. Each and every one of them.
@tontsa911 Obama has lost 9 Trillion dollars, as of Oct 2011. He is keeping you broke in war (60% GDP) and the rest given to the banks that have all the money anyway. So you can vote for change in your pockets compliments of Barry Soetoro the ex muslim. Maybe you should vote for Mitt Grinch or Rick Seinfeld as they will follow in Hussein's footsteps to the T - and add another X Trillion. Ron Paul is your Dude..Dude... Dont be fooled by the media or you will be poor forever. RP2012
@ISISMainframe Do you presume that every YouTube user is american without even looking their profiles? I'm from Finland. If I'd be american, I would not probably vote at all, because all of the candidates are so bad in one way or another.
@NecroniKDrummer89 He also rejects global warming. What I'm most concerned about is that he does not "believe" in evolution. That simply makes him stupid... no, insane. And being insane affects all of his thinking/decisions. Even IF he wants to be a good person and not a warmonger unlike the other candidates.
@tontsa911 Obviously global warming exists, but it's not entirely man manufactured (just research the dramatic climatic history of the earth), nor really an issue at the moment. Here in Australia, the government doesn't really believe in any of that green stuff, it's just an excuse for further taxation (i.e. extortion). As soon as the Carbon Tax came in, the incumbent party's respective salaries went up. And you can't expect it to be a legitimate thing if the Rothschilds support it, can you?
First they are "Pro-Life", but after someone is born they become Pro-Death and don't want to support his/her life in any way. They also like to teach people that killing is wrong by killing people. That is the most sickening ideology I can imagine.
Ron Paul also talks a lot about the possibilities for other institutions than the federal state to deal with care, why do people think the imperialist government are the ones suited to care for us? Their track record on that part ain't exactly convincing. States can handle their own people, families can handle their own people, and cooperative efforts can handle whatever they set out to handle. Collaboration beats governments economic efficiency by a factor of ten, easy.
People who thin Ron Paul is for people dying of poverty has a very anrrow mind indeed. What he realizes is that if people are allowed to keep their own money and not pay for every brain-dead person smoking, drinking, fighting, speeding or otherwise reclessly imposes spending on the system, then many meny more people will get care in REALITY, because they can AFFORD it, or their relatives propably can, and are eager to. This sick american bullshit of the nanny state having to care and boss is BS
Obama hasnt been flawed at all. List what he has accomplished in his first term versus any of the last 3 Presidents. He is doing a wonderful job. Of late he is even doing more with the tenacity we have welcomed. This Republican odd squad are all air heads. They dont have a chance. All mouth, no substance. Still talking about stupid issues to divert attention from real problems. Republicans have NO answers. Weve seen what Bush did for us in 8 years. Never again. NEVER! VOTE DEMOCRAT.
So, in a truly Republican government, what's the point of the government? Everything I've seen, the Republicans would just let the country go on as long as it's a "Christian" country.
I think executing rightfully-convicted criminals-- RIGHTFULLY-CONVICTED, mind you, is preferable to sentencing someone to life, because a lifer would still be given contact with the outside world, and cause influence, especially if, for example, the lifer was a mob boss, drug cartel leader, white supremacist, or Hell, even just charismatic. I DON'T think the death penalty prevents OTHERS from commiting crimes, but it WILL prevent the CONVICTED from commiting crimes.
The point is that if you stopped providing health care that is paid for through taxes and instead reduce taxes giving money back to people to then choose their own health care then you can improve services and lower costs. Any national subsidisation results in increased prices.
For example in the UK the NHS has a budget of £106bn, approximately £1800 per individual - far less than the cost of insurance.
Also food is more important than health care, so why don't we nationalise that as well?
@Wulfyn99 You need a vital medical operation, either you pay 8 000 dollars and live in America, or you live in Sweden and all the other tax payers pay for you instead.
I'd say you're just strawmanning, either everything is nationalized, or nothing is.
Obviously its better to have some taxpayers pay shit for you, and some things you buy for yourself. You wouldn't want to pay some giant corporation money for every mile of their road you drive on?
@Wulfyn99 If people dying of starvation in first world countries was a major problem, then maybe you could consider nationalising the food industry. It's a bit of a odd point to make, since in comparison food is a hell of a lot cheaper than health care. Also, I'm a bit confused by your post. By pointing out that healthcare is cheaper in a nationalised system, but saying people should be given the right to choose, are you saying that nationalised healthcare is better or worse?
Give me a break, Ron Paul wa a doctor, how could he not know that people just can't afford heath insurance. Yeah your right Ron that man should have given up food for a month to buy insurance because that would be less risky!
@durhamdf In his practise ron paul helped many uninsured with their problems. And he absolutely dont believe they should die on the streets. You should watch his answer.
@Terje1337 Actually Ron Paul refused to accept medicaid or medicare payments at his practice because he doesn' give a fuck about healthcare for the poor. He thinks poor people should beg for money on the streets or at church's to pay their medical bills as opposed to our government and our people acknowledging that in a modern western democracy we don't let our citizens die on the streets.
Another aspect of that hypocrisy is that the same people that want the death penalty also constantly say the state has too much power. How much more power can a state have than the right to pass laws on which basis a life can be taken?
@ndyt we do wan't to go to heaven but we could not call ourselves christians if we did not try and bring others with us. every one dies, but everyone is in a sense immortal. we all have souls, and we have two choices accept a free gift of eternal life in heaven, or eternal death in hell (by death i mean separation from God)
@ndyt lol, yes they want god so badly then have at it, they will be surprised when there isnt an after life, only sitting in a box for all of time underground.
READ THE US CONSTITUTION. you can do whatever you want.
10th amendment allows your State to be socialist... but not the WHOLE COUNTRY
It's simple.. the Federal Government has to stay small and follow the US Constitution.
Under the 10th amendment, States make their own Constitutions that must follow the US Constitution but has further ability regarding social and economical liberties (drug legalization, taxes, welfare, etc.
I'm agnostic and strongly support capital punishment. As for healthcare, christian hospitals and institutions have historically been the ones paying for charitable care. There is nothing rational about Liberalviewer's arguments. He's just pushing his own prejudices. What a douchebag!
@aphyd23: I have to agree in this aspect. It's Christian charitable organizations that provided healthcare to those who couldn't afford it-- why do you think there are so many hospitals out there called "Mercy" or "St. Mary's", or why one of the biggest relief organizations in the U.S. is called the American Red CROSS? GOPs have bastardized Christian values for their own support.
I agree. But every politician bastardizes things for their own support. Take almost any issue you can think of. Now, do you honestly believe the politicians championing care? I don't.
@Reyson01 Name 1 american citizen who died because they didn't have insurance and a hospital turned away? Christian hospitals don't turn away patients by the way...
and if your trying to say that killing an innocent baby is moral, YOU ARE FUCKED UP!
@01jkgoet I don't know any names but if you watch Michael Moore's documentary 'Sicko' he interviews an ex-insurance assessor who confesses he is responsible for at least one death because he denied a guy insurance. You could probably find more examples if you researched it.
But when people cheered for Ron Paul, I don't think there was anything wrong with that. True freedom has those risks and there are things we as a community can do to help but you either have full freedom or none at all.
All the hand wringing over executing murderers just shows how evil this society truely is...killing babies and babying killers is a worn out phrase perhaps but it is spot on....this nation loves evil and evil people....evil in every form it takes.
The hard working, productive and responsable are despised while the criminal, lazy and unproductive are held up as poor victims, underdogs and role models...the tipping point is almost here and we will see what kind of nation these people produce.
It's okay if you don't get it. I didn't expect much from a liberal. By executing murderers, you deter new, potential murderers, therefore you defend the society.
@MartellusCarolus That would be a great idea if deterrence worked. If somebody is disturbed enough to consider killing somebody else, they're not exactly in a rational condition to consider the law. Most murderers are perfectly aware what they do is illegal, it doesn't stop them from doing it. But even if it did work, I really don't trust the government not to abuse this kind of power.
But death penalty increases the risk os committing these acts. If they knew they can be killed when caughtm they will think twice before murdering someone. If we abolished death penalty in Texas, crime would be uncontrollable.
@MartellusCarolus Actually. In Maine where there is no death penalty, there were 24 murders for 1.3 million people and in Texas there were 1,249 murders among 25 million people. Let's for simplicity's sake say Texas has 25 times Maine's population 25 x 24 < 1,249 by a lot. Maine does not have the death penalty, it doesn't seem to be doing a good job.
Dude, look at the living standards in Maine and in Texas. Look at the average salary. Look at the number of illegal immigrants. Texas is in a MUCH SHITTIER position in terms of crime to begin with. Do you honestly think that if death penalty was abolished in Texas, murder rate would stay the same??????
@MartellusCarolus The murder rate would probably stay the same if the death penalty was abolished. People who commit heinous crimes that jurors feel are worthy of death are typically people who are not afraid to die. If you really want to commit a crime you'll commit a crime regardless of how severe the law is. There is no reason to have a death penalty other than some kind of savage biblical need for vengeance.
BULLSHIT. if the law would be 10 years in jail for stealing a car, i'd probably think twice before I do shit like that. And death penalty is not only to deter perpetrators, but it also serves the sense of just of the community. If a fucker kills children or multiple people, he does not deserve to live. This is the most logical, racional thought that people agree with. except the brainwashed liberals, who have never been able to think racionally.
@MartellusCarolus liberal...democrat...and republicans ALL have good ideas..and they ALL have TERRIBLE ideas. This whole...demo is bad..repub good..and vice versa, is like 3rd grader shit.
And so you can sleep at night....Mr RIck Perry denied a stay of execution for a man who was convicted of a house fire that happen to kill his 2 children...science later found out...it was most likely it was a complete accident of no one's fault.
Okay, first of all, the incompetence and ignorance of the dickhead Perry and all other officials are not excusable. If you ask me, I hope that Texas will acknowledge that Willingham was innocent. But here, the problem is not with the death penalty itself, but with the fact that scientific evidence was ignored. But in those cases where both law and science prove someone guilty, (mathching DNA) death penalty is a must.
@MartellusCarolus OK...well I mostly agree there. I may add in witness as well.
IE..the Arizona shooter. We will have a 2 year long trial..for a man who was witnessed by 20 people killing others...AND taken at the scene. Of course he isn't mentally stable/complete..so....now what? hehe
On a side note...glad to hear supreme court rule against putting children to death, after charging them as an adult isn't insult enough. New science out shows our ignorance of charging kids as adults as well.
please tell me you're just trolling and you're not actually serious with this. life sentenced people live in high security prisons for long decades. Yes, i also hate that death row inmates are sitting there for so long too. if you're worried about their costs, you should campaign for their immediate execution.
@MartellusCarolus Nope, no trolling here. You can check out the studies if you don't believe me. The cost is why some states are pushing to get rid of the death penalty.
Dude, you're honestly concerned about social issues like death penalty when the country is rapidly going bankrupt????? You honestly think that voters prioritize social issues and vote for Obama, while looking into their empy wallet?????
question, why da hell do we still have political parties? they dont mostly care about us. they just wanna beat the other party to obtain the president tittle.... and maybe money too >.>
Favoring personal responsibility equals pro-death?
If someone goes to Las Vegas and gambles away all his money, tough luck. Does not wanting to let the government provide him with new money equal pro-poverty?
This guy is a idiot people are pro life for UNBORN children who had no choice to be conceived. We have no pity for people who kill others and must face the consequences or for people who make bad decisions. The guy who needs a operation doesn't need to depend on government what about family and friends. Of course all you socialist just want the government to hold your hand through life. How about this let all the pro health care people put the uninsured on their bill.
@Pennee101 Please forgive any grammatical errors in my comments i forget that the grammar Nazis are so focused on proper sentence structure and punctuation that their reading comprehension functions on a much lower level then others would you like me to run my comment through a old english translator and repost it?
@Pennee101 OK start with this sentence, "We have no pity for people who kill others and must face the consequences or for people who make bad decisions" What about our military? And what about family? Most people with bad monetary problems do not have family or any help from family. Those days are over. Are you going to be the one to let the person bleed out because no one has paid for the blood he needs? I wouldn't want that on my conscious or my Karma.
@Pennee101 "Most people with bad monetary problems do not have family or any help from family." Back that up with some facts. If you mean people with bad monetary problems have lost the support of their family (aka drug users..etc) then yes if their family has given up on them then why should tax payers be forced to provide for their well being?
@myusernameisluc People walk on sidewalks that they did not pay for. They sit in parks, on park benches that they did not pay for. If they need to be rushed to the emergency room with an ambulance that they did not pay for what draw a line there?
@Pennee101 You seem like a holier then thou person who thinks he knows how best to spend other peoples money.
I am selfish, i only care about me and mine so i do what i do to make sure they are taking care of. Dont try to take my shit i wont try to take your shit. In other words keep your fucking hands out of my pockets.
If you want to help the needy have some homeless move in with you and treat them like your dependents. Until then go fuck yourself and the horse you rode in on.
@Xantheus07 How can you be financially secure when you have to always be on guard of your money? Those that know what true giving is must laugh at the idea of sacrifice.
One thing. If someone CHOOSES not to buy healthcare and gets sick that requires treatment, it's THEIR responsibility. That's not a hard concept to understand. To each their own.
@YellowFDkid But what if you pose the solution of medicare? I hear Americans say they don't want to be taxed more (which is sensible), but we (Canadians) pay 30-35% income tax, and from what I understand you do too...So I don't understand why you would rather pay an insurance company on top of that
Those people in the crowds are idiots. They don't know what they think or how they feel. This is why we're going to either have another shitty president or keep Obama.
I'm a Christian and yet I don't want anybody to die. Not even Anders Breiwik. He puts shame on Christianity, yet I don't want him to die. Just send that mass spree killer to jail.
People love to whine here about our NHS. Fuck me, it's infinitely better than America... Clapping for letting people die?! Your soul isn't going to heaven my friends, you don't fucking have any...
Nice so Mitt Romney is a Flip Flop Fraud and Ron Paul thinks people who can't afford medicare should die. So which idiot are we going to elect this year for 2012! I'm hoping Obama but since the Economy sucks his chances aren't good.
No answers to any of the question you asked but I you brought a new idea I never considered until today (so, bravo!) and it was: "Christian should be more circumspect about the death penalty given their religion is named after someone executed as capital punishment". Whoa!! Thank you.
A Red Herring is a fallacy in which an irrelevant topic is presented in order to divert attention from the original issue. The basic idea is to "win" an argument by leading attention away from the argument and to another topic.
If you're pro-life because you believe in the sanctity of life then that means you believe life is given to us by god and is therefore sacred. Being pro-death penalty defies this sacredness by intervening in the divine plan so to speak. I just think it's inconsistent to save a life here and not there. A life is a life and all should have the same value attached to them.
@rgaud8 I totally agree with you, it's stupid to be pro-life for pre-born babies but then be pro-death penalty, it just contradicts itself. Can't believe USA still got death penalty, that's beyond me, as a Canadian.
It's called democracy. You know, where two wolves and a sheet vote on what to have for dinner lol. Oh that's right, you only accept democracy if people are subjected to your will. Here's a thought, it's crazy, but stay with me, how about we all live under a framework of laws that protect people and property against what you or I want to take. But of course, I either submit to your belief that I owe you something, or I want to starve children... hmmm, is that a straw man fallacy, I can't tell.
@alex134219 The Straw Man fallacy is committed when a person simply ignores a person's actual position and substitutes a distorted, exaggerated or misrepresented version of that position.
So, if I don't support government managed health care and subsidies, I am pro death and want to feed babies to wolves.
@alex134219 Let me answer your numbered questions though.
1. The phrase democracy is often used by the left in the U.S. to give way for taxing the wealthy or success. I know we don't have a democracy, but I'm sure the left would like it if they could simply vote for taking other peoples money.
2. How?
3. I'm sure it's because I hate the poor.
4. Yes, change the system. Regulate it like we do contracts, everyone has a right to what they paid for if they meet the conditions of the contract.
5. I'm so greedy I will work to make money and lots of it, unlike the USSR or politicians, where nothing ran on greed apparently, just good intentions.
6. No the source material is from a Harvard law graduate, who I use to listen to when I was a Stalinist.
I'm from Germany, lived there most of my life, till I was 20, and believe me, the rich are not going to be the ones paying for a national health care. If you want to pay for HC, let the federal govt tax the poor like we do.

If you lack private health insurance, the government will offer support, the healthcare reform is like debates of the rights of other cultures, there is no reason not to accept it and it is opposed by morons who go home and sleep on piles of money,
MegascatmanIV 6 days ago
The irony?
You can bet your ass if one of those people clapping when Ron Paul answered that question did not have health insurance and fell ill to a critical disease and could not get health care and then told to "die", would be singing another tune altogether.

Food stamps are how Americans nationalize food.
Also by your own numbers you say that the NHS costs "far less than the cost of insurance", so wouldn't that be an argument for nationalized health care (your first paragraph seems to be opposed to it)

In November of 2007,Mitt Romney said that he "would be delighted to sign federal ban on all abortions".
At the same time, he's also committed to "enlarging the US military to such a size that would make it impossible for anyone to oppose us".
So I guess he's pro-life, that is until that life reaches military age. Then they're expendable.

Dear Republicans voters!
grow up, Republicans is not a party, it's a lobby organisation for the rich. And what you call socialism is working a lot better in every respect than your idiotic elbow economic system. Look at the Scandinavian countries or us here in Germany. Better economy, a fraction of your extreme crime rates, less drug problems, less overweight people, which all comes with a bit more equality.

WTF?!

As for the moral issues like the death penalty and healthcare, it's sad they don't have more empathy.

Collaboration beats governments economic efficiency by a factor of ten, easy.

I DON'T think the death penalty prevents OTHERS from commiting crimes, but it WILL prevent the CONVICTED from commiting crimes.
colBoh 1 month ago
The point is that if you stopped providing health care that is paid for through taxes and instead reduce taxes giving money back to people to then choose their own health care then you can improve services and lower costs. Any national subsidisation results in increased prices.
For example in the UK the NHS has a budget of £106bn, approximately £1800 per individual - far less than the cost of insurance.
Also food is more important than health care, so why don't we nationalise that as well?
Wulfyn99 1 month ago 4
@Wulfyn99 You need a vital medical operation, either you pay 8 000 dollars and live in America, or you live in Sweden and all the other tax payers pay for you instead.
I'd say you're just strawmanning, either everything is nationalized, or nothing is.
Obviously its better to have some taxpayers pay shit for you, and some things you buy for yourself. You wouldn't want to pay some giant corporation money for every mile of their road you drive on?
williammoller9 2 weeks ago
@Wulfyn99 If people dying of starvation in first world countries was a major problem, then maybe you could consider nationalising the food industry. It's a bit of a odd point to make, since in comparison food is a hell of a lot cheaper than health care. Also, I'm a bit confused by your post. By pointing out that healthcare is cheaper in a nationalised system, but saying people should be given the right to choose, are you saying that nationalised healthcare is better or worse?

It's okay if you don't get it. I didn't expect much from a liberal. By executing murderers, you deter new, potential murderers, therefore you defend the society.
MartellusCarolus 2 months ago
@MartellusCarolus That would be a great idea if deterrence worked. If somebody is disturbed enough to consider killing somebody else, they're not exactly in a rational condition to consider the law. Most murderers are perfectly aware what they do is illegal, it doesn't stop them from doing it. But even if it did work, I really don't trust the government not to abuse this kind of power.
OscarApollo 2 months ago 2

But death penalty increases the risk os committing these acts. If they knew they can be killed when caughtm they will think twice before murdering someone. If we abolished death penalty in Texas, crime would be uncontrollable.
MartellusCarolus 2 months ago
@MartellusCarolus Actually. In Maine where there is no death penalty, there were 24 murders for 1.3 million people and in Texas there were 1,249 murders among 25 million people. MartellusCarolus 2 months ago

Favoring personal responsibility equals pro-death?
If someone goes to Las Vegas and gambles away all his money, tough luck. Does not wanting to let the government provide him with new money equal pro-poverty?

I'd have to say I agree with Ron Paul's answer...

@Xantheus07 Please repeat your statement with the proper syntax so the people who bother to read it can know what you are trying to say.

@Pennee101 Please forgive any grammatical errors in my comments i forget that the grammar Nazis are so focused on proper sentence structure and punctuation that their reading comprehension functions on a much lower level then others would you like me to run my comment through a old english translator and repost it?
Xantheus07 2 months ago
@Pennee101 OK start with this sentence, "We have no pity for people who kill others and must face the consequences or for people who make bad decisions" What about our military? And what about family? Most people with bad monetary problems do not have family or any help from family. Those days are over. Are you going to be the one to let the person bleed out because no one has paid for the blood he needs? I wouldn't want that on my conscious or my Karma.
Pennee101 2 months ago
@Pennee101 "Most people with bad monetary problems do not have family or any help from family." Back that up with some facts. If you mean people with bad monetary problems have lost the support of their family (aka drug users..etc) then yes if their family has given up on them then why should tax payers be forced to provide for their well being?
Xantheus07 2 months ago
@Pennee101
Consider 2 statements:
1. People shouldn't be forced to pay for someone's surgery (trough taxation).
2. People that can't pay for surgery should be left to die.
Do they have the same meaning?
myusernameisluc 2 months ago
@myusernameisluc People walk on sidewalks that they did not pay for. They sit in parks, on park benches that they did not pay for. If they need to be rushed to the emergency room with an ambulance that they did not pay for what draw a line there?

@Xantheus07 You just seem like a selfish self centered person who is looking for an ideological excuse for your character defects.
Pennee101 2 months ago
@Pennee101 You seem like a holier then thou person who thinks he knows how best to spend other peoples money.
I am selfish, i only care about me and mine so i do what i do to make sure they are taking care of. Dont try to take my shit i wont try to take your shit. In other words keep your fucking hands out of my pockets.
If you want to help the needy have some homeless move in with you and treat them like your dependents. Until then go fuck yourself and the horse you rode in on.

@Xantheus07 You are never going to be wealthy with that attitude.

@Pennee101 Im happy being financially secure.
Xantheus07 2 months ago
@Xantheus07 How can you be financially secure when you have to always be on guard of your money? Those that know what true giving is must laugh at the idea of sacrifice.
Pennee101 2 months ago
One thing. If someone CHOOSES not to buy healthcare and gets sick that requires treatment, it's THEIR responsibility. That's not a hard concept to understand. To each their own.
YellowFDkid 2 months ago

You liberals cant stop can you lol.
groam6666 3 months ago
No, Yes.
What's worse then death? Being locked up forever, inmate should have a choice of life in prison or the death penalty.
You shouldn't get too happy one someone dies, most people think it's a sad thing.
blyn3d 3 months ago
Anyone who is pro-life and pro-death penalty is a hypocrite. Easy as that. Can't be a bigger contradiction.
rgaud8 3 months ago
@rgaud8 Hi! You said that anyone who is pro-life and pro-death penalty is a hypocrite. I just got curious. Could you explain further?...=)
phatima1990 3 months ago
@phatima1990
If you're pro-life because you believe in the sanctity of life then that means you believe life is given to us by god and is therefore sacred. Being pro-death penalty defies this sacredness by intervening in the divine plan so to speak. I just think it's inconsistent to save a life here and not there. A life is a life and all should have the same value attached to them.
rgaud8 3 months ago
@rgaud8 Is it really belief or is it an agreement?

You tell me.
rgaud8 3 months ago
@rgaud8 I totally agree with you, it's stupid to be pro-life for pre-born babies but then be pro-death penalty, it just contradicts itself. Can't believe USA still got death penalty, that's beyond me, as a Canadian.

It's called democracy. You know, where two wolves and a sheet vote on what to have for dinner lol. Oh that's right, you only accept democracy if people are subjected to your will. Here's a thought, it's crazy, but stay with me, how about we all live under a framework of laws that protect people and property against what you or I want to take. But of course, I either submit to your belief that I owe you something, or I want to starve children... hmmm, is that a straw man fallacy, I can't tell.
groam6666 3 months ago
@groam6666 somebody has no clue what they are talking about
alex134219 3 months ago
@alex134219 The Straw Man fallacy is committed when a person simply ignores a person's actual position and substitutes a distorted, exaggerated or misrepresented version of that position.
So, if I don't support government managed health care and subsidies, I am pro death and want to feed babies to wolves.
As I said, it's a logical fallacy.
groam6666 3 months ago
@groam6666 once again i say somebody has no clue what they are talking about but if you wish here are the things wrong with your first post
1. we do not have a democracy
2. you yourself used a strawman argument
3. a complete lie
4. so you want to change the current system
5. so your saying your greedy
6. completely ignores that the source material is a comedy show
2nd post
1. so you are basically one big one then
2. misses the point its a comedy video again
alex134219 3 months ago
@alex134219 Let me answer your numbered questions though.
1. The phrase democracy is often used by the left in the U.S. to give way for taxing the wealthy or success. I know we don't have a democracy, but I'm sure the left would like it if they could simply vote for taking other peoples money.
2. How?
3. I'm sure it's because I hate the poor.
4. Yes, change the system. Regulate it like we do contracts, everyone has a right to what they paid for if they meet the conditions of the contract.
groam6666 3 months ago
@alex134219
