Easton is probably the best brand they are smart with protection with pads but when it comes to performance gear such as skates stick and gloves i go with Bauer

all the companies show these impact videos like there not modifying it to make there helmet look good 9900 vs s19 they do the rear boss and hit the s19 on the ventilator opening causing it to crack and the Bauer helmet didnt hit the ventilation opening

Think about this, a helmet made out of metal is pretty durable, but does it feel that grate when you fall with it.

@Turbanman101 i have to agree i play college level our whole team uses them. i got a concussion and we have had 5 kids on our team get cuts on the forehead also just above the nose.

@studogg99 same here.... although the capt handed out free helmet for my kid's team, that free helmet turn out to be the most expensive. We wound up paying ER bills for 17 stitches when the helmet flexed and slashed a nasty gash above my kid's eyebrow. I think the shell needs to be tougher or harder because it flexes too much on impact.

@meds613 because the way of the helmet is designed, it buckles through the temple of your skull. Every other helmet buckles through the front and back.

@IIExiiLedII it isnt too protective, and its broken on every on i know that has had it. ive been lookin at the bauer 9900, or the Cascade M11. the M11 is supposed to be the bes tagainst concussion prevention and protection overall

What they are leaving out is the fact that RBK helmets have an outer shell AND a sub-shell. The outer shell in this video looks like it kinda rippled and I could be wrong but I think that may be because there is a small gap inbetween it and the sud-shell so when the outer shell hits the sub-shell the energy still has to go somewhere so the outer shell ripples.

I personally dont like easton helmets. I have an 8k now but have only used bauer in the past. I like the RBK more than my 9500

Easton = disposable after impact

RBK, M11, CCM = probably still functioning after impact

Pretty expensive considering.

M11 much more comfortable and much more effective on subsequent hits.

If you are concerned with only style, and weight pick the Easton. If you are concerned with protection, look at the M11.

Watch the sport science segment on baseball helmets to see how helmets should "spring" back to disperse an impact.

i don't get why they are testing the helmets at room temp. they should test them at a cooler temp.
