Sylvester died of complications from AIDS in San Francisco on December 16, 1988. He was 41 years old. His good friend Jeanie Tracy took care of Sylvester during his last days.
He is the best. I came out during the early 80's in Brooklyn. He even performed at a Brookyn lesbian club--it was a long time ago and forgot the name. Now I am in my forties living in florida. God, I MISS THOSE FUN TIMES, NOT A CARE IN THE WORLD, LISTENING TO SYLVESTER ON THE WAY TO WORK ON MY WALMAN AND PARTYING ON THE WEEKENDS--I WISH I COULD DO IT ALL AGAIN AND SYLVESTER WOULD STILL BE ALIVE.....
I hear ya Sadico40!! His music was ahead of his time--he was even Pre-Madoona in terms of his topics in his songs. Those fun days are gone. I wish I could repeat them, but life's responsibilities are calling now. I can only think in a kind way when the lord takes me Sylvester will be at the gates of Heaven to welcome me into Heaven and all of my good buddies that went before me.
@ryuouji Why would I have to lie about something like that...I can send you pic of one of his billboard awards sitting in my aunts living room...if you would like to call my bluff
