  • nice

  • superb, man!

  • need audio track please

  • ...its almost metal xD

  • And Nokie can still kick ass.

  • These guys should have been in the very first R&R HoF induction. It's a crime it took so long for them to be recognized. Mel Taylor was one of the best R&R drummers of his era. Nokie Edwards is very under-rated. He can play any style. Don Wilson and Bob Bogle fill out one of the best line-ups in rock history. I idolized them when I was a teenager.

  • @TheOtherJarhead the people at the R&R HoF are a joke

  • thought it was going to be weak with no singing but that shit was fucking great.

  • full fuckin metal

  • i wonder if when they did covers did people sing the words back at them i've watched 11 versions of this song tonight Leadbelly , Animals ,Bon Jovi ,Frigjid pink ,Cool'O'Keefe' Sinead O'Connor' Dolly Parton'GeraldBoyClassical' Nina Simone' the Beatles' The Ventures

  • @rebob59 what do you mean??

  • @aba2185 instrumentel bands are like karaoke when they do cover tunes love the ventures and surf music

  • is this a DVD? where can i get it?

  • Check out the audience (pause at the very end)! Was this in Japan? This is atypically HOT guitar playing for them; GOOD guitar playing was typical but not loud & hot. This is pre-Summer of Love when things really exploded. Those amps don’t look familiar either, although they could have been customized.

  • This is where Metal came from.

  • to: elvisbluntman777 the ventures are in the rock and roll hall of fame they were inducted 2 or 3 years ago

  • The audio quality is amazing, especially for something that was recorded in the 60's. That guitar rings out beautifully!

  • Pure class

  • The Ventures - Heavily underrated man...they deserve to be in the Rock n Roll hall of fame

  • these guys are better than clapton hendrix beck and all the other so called guitar gods

  • It's probably one of the best and awesome versions out there. However, I can't get over how stiffly the players are standing. Something interesting happens at the 2:17 mark, and I do truly believe Nokie's smile was a sign that things were (indeed) a-changing.

  • Trying to watch the bass player's hands; learning how to play it a little.

  • Bad ass instrumental! The Ventures really knew how to take an epic song and make it even better.

  • a version like this is just not possible, how it can be?!

there are some covers that goes beyond the vision of the author, this is one of those

with no lyrics at the style of the ventures, a master piece

  • 0 people dont dislike this song lol

  • just realize this in in 1966 !!!!!!

listen to that damn sound !!!!!!

    its just so BAD ASS!!!!

  • @aba2185

This was the birth of Heavy Metal

  • @MrBluesrules Try The Kinks buddy lol

  • @tatethompson1234

I love the Kinks, but I wouldn't call them Metal. Dick Dales Pipeline has been called the first "Metal" song. He did a monster remake with SRV. It hurt good.

  • Hearing this song gives a sense of satisfaction. Power of great music.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • This rules. Just too fucking awesome to be true.

  • 改めて聴くとめちゃ かっこいい

    親がベンチャーズ好きでカーステで何百回も聴かされた

    レコード盤のまとまった感じもいいけど

    ライブもいいですね

  • man the ventures rocked, back then,

  • Shreddin

  • Upon second listening, it has occurred to me that it is impossible to get that sound with solid-state amplifiers. Good stuff. Thank you.

  • Go, Nokie! YEAH!

  • KIZ.... Neuruppin

  • THis is Eal Music right HERE!!

  • @manwitgun55 *Real

  • some of the best drumming I've heard man

  • @swiftvaughn strumming you idiot

  • This is pretty awesom

  • outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fantastic, marvelous instrumental version, by a classic group The Ventures.

  • I can not imagine what it would have been like to see this live back then. Goosebumps. Cosmic revelations. This recording is nice because you can hear each instrument. The balance is perfect. You can pick out the bass quite well. Just fantastic.

  • Sharp as a Knife!!

  • Mel Taylor is the most amazing, virtuoso rock drummer of his time. The Who's drummer was great too. SO nice to see an entirely new generation appreciating Rock and Roll classics.

Who can play this stuff today? Even Mel's son Leon never played as tight as his dad.

  • @iresfrank personally, i think there are people now who can easily match the skills and play as tight... but the one thing music has lost since then is its soul and feeling, which is why this song is so much better than music released these days, even when its 44 years old.

  • It blows my mind how fricken tight they are. It's awesome.

  • incredible

  • AWESOME!!!! :-D
