Im from Reno, Nevada...its a little too warm here for me, but when its winter I like to go up into the mountains and pretend im in Norway, hopefully one day I will finally have enough money to actually see Norway during winter.

@imabadking And you are welcome over here :) Norway during winter is quite different from the Mojave desert. It's wet and cold, and the days are short. I live 62 degrees North, and here it's daylight about 7 hours in late December. Further North it is dark 24 hours. But the good thing about it is that in Summer it's never dark! It's really beautiful here all year around! Right now we have Autumn colours and fresh snow on the highest peaks. Norway is a wonderland!

Finland has lots of lakes, Sweden has endless reaches of pine forest, Denmark is very flat and Norway has tall mountains, valleys and forest, all of the north is beautifull, where I live in Eastern Norway (Østfold) the valleys and forest's are beautifull in the winter and in the summer and I could never live annywhere else.

I can't live anywhere else. I'm made for winter and freezeing temperatures, the winters here were I live( In a valley in Nordland, up North) can reach -42 grader celsius, that's the coldest I've experiensed :S I like the summer too tough... :P

On the cold weather, I like that and the snow. Liking it or not, I guess, all depends on how well prepared you are for the winter. If you have good friends to accompany you indoor or outdoor; then one can have a wonderful time even in the harshest of winters.

Nope i didnt take them all, just some. I havent gotten the chance to travel much during winter yet.

Regarding winter its just important to wear enough cloths, several layers, if you go around and freeze then its ur own fault technically, but if you wear enough cloth then the cold is no problem at all.

-20 celsius is more comfortable then +35 celsius in my opinion. Because when there is +35 there is almost nothing you can do, when its -20 celsius you just put on more cloths. And no insects :)

@Vikingskog I totally agree, I've preferred cold weather all the time also. You can get to warm up anytime, just wear warmer clothes, but we still don't have aircon suits for the hot temperatures. I don't know if I'm strange or i just like cold but i didn't even need jackets on -10 celsius...

P.S. Norwegian nature is simply awesome. Hope to explore it on my own sooner rather than later.

I lived in snow for many many years (and did many winter sports), but Maui is as close to heaven on earth as you can get. Someday though I would like to visit the country of my ancestors (Norway). Both of my grandmothers were Norwegian (one's maiden name was Rorvik).

It's so sweet for us Swedes. We don't have to go to the other side of the world (like New Zealand) to experience exotic and beautiful locations. We just cross the border to Norway.

We have some nice scenery in Sweden too (towards the Norweigan border ;P) though Sweden is mostly made up by endless pine forest. Especally in the north where I live.
