  • Lol dad broke 3 in his 6 years of pul valting, and we got pictures of EVERY one lol, never gets old.

  • Who invented this stupid ass sport anyway?

  • @lsimmons24 Your mom... it was just sooooo long... she had to find a way to get over it :)

  • pole made in china

  • @tanoook how is she an idiot she doesnt control the pole breaking

    and your the only idiot

    WHAT AND IDIOT

    try what AN idiot

    fuckin troll

  • HAHAA what and idiot

  • my toaster produces higher quality vids

  • your too fat :D

  • softies never pleased anyone..

  • ok, really, im only in the 8th grade, and i can tell this person must have weighed at least 20lbs over the weight limit, use ure fucking head.

  • Fuckin high schoolers don't know how to do it these days. I'm an olympic class gold medalist, myself.

  • @Rayman0 BS!

  • Had that happen once (a long time ago) all I remember was my hands feeling tingly for days. Got into trouble for it too. My school only had one pole and I busted it.

  • which pixel was the pole vaulter?

  • potato cam strikes again!

  • nice pixel mess...

  • Hey everybody! pole vaulting can be dangerous, but if youi know how use the pole, you will make it over easily. and it's fun gliding in the air and then falling down! and also make a Runescape acc it is a very fun online game and it's free ( unless you upgrade to member then it's $6 a month )

  • WTH...I didn't know Wal Mart sold poles for this sport???

  • Comment removed

  • @thefraternity1 i'm glad that the title of this video wasn't "Pole vaulting can be dangerous, with very good graphics". You might have had an aneuryism.

  • holy crap...i would literally hate if that had happened to me....id feel so embarrassed...id feel as if i had just gained a million pounds just to break the pole....i use a 140lb pole lol

  • is that a scratch? lol

  • did you shoot this video with a potatoe??

  • Pres 8 to see it over and over.

  • this is the EXACT reason i dont pole vault

  • WTF. Was this recorded with a calculator?

  • He clearly is not an overweight specimen.

  • like if u kept rewinding the pole breaking and got annoyed at the guy saying "ohh"

  • thats why fat people shouldnt be allowed to compete

  • at take off he doesn't have his back arm all the way extended, his plant foot is also just a little bit under this causes his weight to move forward sooner than it should which causes the pole to bend more than you want it to. if the take off is just a little bit off even a brand new pole can over bend and snap like this. lots of vaulters jump like this, the bend the heck out of the pole, invert asap, and ride it up creating a slower looking jump

  • that kind of a break has nothing to do with the wieght of the kid. poles are designed to break in 3 pieces and away from the athlete. this pole was either really old or already damaged. i broke 3 poles in total back in the day and i always weighed easily 10 ibs under the tolerance and always moved up poles if i was bending em too much... but thats what happens when you work with 10+ year old poles.

  • 15'6 dam, im a sophomore in high school, just starting the season, my highest from freshman year is 8'6, lol, what state you in, but poles break just when they are too old too, not user error always, although you should be mindful of your poles conditioin

  • 15'6 dam, im a sophomore in high school, just starting the season, my highest from freshman year is 8'6, lol, what state you in

  • trying jump dumbass

  • Holyy shit, I can count the pixels

  • TOO MANY FAT YANKS USED IT BEFORE...

  • "MADE IN CHINA"!

  • Overload of fat XD

  • No bar was up... Was it a run through?

  • Ouch!!!

  • I would adivise cialis, extenze, or viagra to get a stiffer more sturdy pole....... lol

  • repeat :12 for eternity

  • haha. lardass..............................

  • oversized

  • a lot of the times when the pole breaks it goes right into your family jewels.....bet he didn't get up for a while after that one

  • that pole didnt even bend that much before it snapped

  • that means he didnt have the right pole

  • What if,the pole snaps and you impale yourself on it?Do you still get another go? if your still alive like.

  • LMAOROF

  • LMAOROL

  • my friends aunt died pole vaulting the pole snapped in half and pierced her through the heart

  • @k1llyb1lly sorry to read that.

  • And he will forever be known as that "Fatass who broke that pole..."

  • It's his own damn Vault!

  • Sabotage!!!!

  • i doubt it was a crack based on the fact it split into 3+ pieces whereas cracks are usually just 2 piece breaks and if you notice the last second right before he swings that top hand jerks down a bit which in combination with a stiff bottom hand will snap the pole

  • FATTY! AAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA

  • lol tooo fat

  • This biggest concern here isn't his standing in the event.

    Pole-vaults are ridiculously expensive!

  • that happens when you pull instead of pushing

  • did he die?

  • he was pulling down with his top hand you can tell cus of where his arms move when it breaks but yeah it probobly was a crack cus his bottom arm wasnt pushing it out

  • Was this in cincinnati

  • ohhh SNAP :D

  • he's lucky he didn't get impaled.

  • was that the 4x800 time that was 8:27? first place for 8:27 is pathetic! nice video tho lol

  • @kamikazzi92 that really depends on where you're running. i went to a hs with 40 guys. not 40 on the track team, our school literally had 40 male students enrolled. judging by the size of the stands in the background this school couldn't have had more than a couple hundred kids. there were schools in our state with 3000 enrolled that would be upset with a time that "slow" but my 4x8 team ran an 8:26 my soph year and we broke several meet records.

  • hmmmm whats with the title?pole vaulting CAN be dangerous?its THE most dangerous sport of all the athletics...its an amazing event to see but where do you think the accident would happen?100m?10.000m?or when you try to fly over 5-6 meters?the only sport i can think of being more dangerous than that is the hammer throw.and this from someone whos been on the field for over 10 years

  • Maybe flying 5-6 meters in the air while traveling at 50 MPH in motocross? :P

  • yes read my comment again.i said the most dangerous of all the ATHLETICS.track n field.

  • hahah thats so funny hahha

  • Nice.

  • Ow, but still what are the odds

  • raped in the asshole

  • Some of the comments here are funny, but yours didn't even make sense...

  • LOL

  • fatass

  • His steps weren't counted right, he has horrible form, and uses all muscle with no skill. In my opinion that kid shouldn't be allowed to vault until he has a little more training. well scratch that, ALOT more training.

  • @CrushProofBoxx nice analysis

  • @kwenu1 your retarded

  • @potookaaa i was being sarcastic you dumb ass lol. youtube people these days

  • @CrushProofBoxx thats wierd because you cant see all that just from the video. and unless you get 20 feet you should shut the fuck up. and it broke because he was bending it so much. and bending it is exactly what your sopposed to do so shut the fuck up bitch

  • he didnt jump... the reason it broke is because he sat on it and expected the pole to pull him up instead of jumping with it

  • Sorry bro, but you're a it off there. For one, Petrov couldn't even jump 20 feet. It did not break because he was bending it too much, he didn't jump at all, he also looked under. The point isn't to bend the pole, the point is to move the pole.

  • @potookaaa why all the animosity?

  • Comment removed

  • HAHA FATTY

  • i feel bad but thats what you get for using an old pole or lying about your weight

  • daaaaammmmm that is messed up

  • Who invented fat?

  • who invented pole vaulting? probaly a retarded masochist

  • made in .....

  • well thats the cheap ones

  • Dangerous! Watching pole vault always scares me, it always seems like it would break...isn't that dangerous? I'd never do that!

  • i think that kid's pole was too light for him. he looks like he was using a small ass pole. and thats what happens if ur pole is either old or too light. its a fun sport but gets bad rep cause of things like that. i vaulted 15'6 back in the day and broke 2 poles and im still walkin and miss the sport dearly

  • when you break a pole it dosent hurt, you just land softly on the mat

  • Buddy of mine busted a pole pretty good, caught a piece to the back of the head and needed 12 staples. It's rare to get injured like that though.

  • owch, never thought of that happening

  • sniper

  • Lmfao, I wonder what the vaulter was thinking.

  • looks funny but it is dangerous!

  • wat happens wen ur pole breaks? do u get a re-do or wat?

  • no you a called fat :D

  • lol that got a laugh outta me

  • @jeremybloom1115 Depends how what the reff says really. Unless you bring a rule book with you. In that case it counts as a equipment failure and is as if you did not jump. The poor kid is just out of luck on using the right pole.

  • @jeremybloom1115 at one of my meets, a kids pole snapped i had a pole of the same weight so i let him use mine, yea he got the redo but he still failed the height

  • @jeremybloom1115 No, the kid touched the matress, that counts as an "x"

  • @wiggs333 Terribly wrong. If a pole breaks, you do not get it counted against you.

  • @LSDylanmann depends on whos pole it is!

  • @wiggs333 that makes absolutely no sense... it doesn't matter whose pole you break, it still doesn't count as a miss. (Quoting rules, not trying do be a dick (=...)

  • @jeremybloom1115 yeah actually if your pole breaks then you get an extra try it doesn't count as a miss.

  • @jeremybloom1115

At my Conference meet i broke my pole and it didnt count as a jump

  • @jeremybloom1115 Nah man you break the plane of the pit with any part of your pole or body it counts as a fault...Sophomore year I was going for a 13' PR and it broke on my last attempt...didn't get another try =(...maybe different for other states idk.

P.S. Most people don't want to do a re-do after they break their pole =P.

  • @jeremybloom1115 nah its a miss bro

  • @jeremybloom1115 No. Its a disqualification. Either that pole was cracked, or that guys too heavy for that pole.

  • @jeremybloom1115 You get 3 runs so usually other teams let you borrow/ use their poles unless there douches. i just got 15' 6" today =D

  • @jeremybloom1115 eh depends on the meet. it usually counts as an attempt, but if you have a cool official then he might let that go and give you another try. doesn't really matter in this case, no bar was up so it was probably just a warm-up run through.

  • @jeremybloom1115 when a pole breaks you don't have any re-do because each pole is bought by you...

  • Comment removed

  • @jeremybloom1115 its a re-do based on equipment failure. they don't count it as a miss. assuming you have more poles (most vaulters use a progression of poles unless their school wont shell out the money)

  • @jeremybloom1115 hahaha no they just call you a fat ass

  • can be??? it is...

  • Quite obviously a pole-fault.

If he was over the pole's limit he would have crushed it well further into the bend.

That fucking thing hardly had a respectable flex when it burst.

Not saying he wasn't over the limit, but UCS Spirits are tested by being bent almost in half before they split.. And that's EVERY POLE they sell.

No way there wasn't a fault in that pole.

  • The pole wasn't dented or cracked, you have to have a specific pole for your weight. One sized pole vault pole doesn't fit everyone. This happens when it's cheap high school athletics.

  • It broke because his a disgusting fatman. Gomer Pyle.

  • what an idiot. many ppl just want to bend the pole so the vualt with a pole thats wayyyyy to light. see what happeneds lol

  • he was over the poles weight limet

  • and you're Sherlock Holmes. O.o

  • why was the pole so small? u wont get 8 feet with that haaha

  • 90% sure that pole had a dent/crack in it...and it wasnt the kids fault...

  • @johannestot in order to break a pole you have to have great form (doing everything right) but be on a pole that isnt calibrated to the users weight

  • @johannestot and 10%?

  • @NarutoShippuuden921 10% Just plain bad luck

  • hahaha, thats a classic, something i would do :S

  • ouch!

  • o dang didnt see that coming
