  • "Take the low road...Not that low."

That line always makes me LAWL!

  • Thats not Madrid or spain....FAKE

  • @DSoler9 I thought this story was set in Greece?

  • @tonyfuller Well, this particular scene was supposedly set in Spain, but it was filmed in Greece.

  • @DSoler9 30 yrs ago today.......helluva movie !

  • what does he say in the beginning, whoever you are .....?

  • @h0ktar: I think it was "you've outstayed your welcome"

  • silly old roger :L

  • Timothy Dalton is better than Roger.

  • Okay, I know what car Bond is driving, but what model of car are the henchmen driving? Are they an old Soviet model? They look halfway decent, even if their drivers aren't.

  • @PanickyNine It is a Peugeot 504, not the most high performance car but would normally be quicker than a 2CV!

  • @tonyfuller hence the pun "i'm afraid, we are being outhorsepowered"

  • @PanickyNine bonds pun "i'm afraid, we are being outhorsepowered" should give you a hint!

  • @PanickyNine Peugeot 504, French again.

  • Que pelicula mas buena.

  • love this bit its so exciting

  • cant knock them with a stick.. myself i had an early one ( ribbed bonnet ) with a mainbearing problem ( a weak point ) and one of the last ones that´d do 80mph.

They made perhaps 5 million of them. only ze french...-.

  • 900 KG (peugeot) vs 300 KG (Citroen)

  • Daniel Craig takes his job far too seriously.

  • 1.01 Standard in Johanasberg.

  • wow

  • in holland we call this car a deuxsjevoux

Also known as 'lelijk eendje'. An ugly duck.

  • "I'm afraid where being outhorsepowered"- This is what I love about Roger Moore's time as bond, so entertaining and funny as well as being a great spy film at the same time

  • "so... who are you?"

    "YOU KILLED MY PARENTS!"

    "oooo-kaaay....."

  • LOL! just keep rolling it, and it'll still go!

  • It shows how Bond can drive a piece of crap car and still beat the bad guys.

  • Que buen vehiculo el 2cv....

    es el mejor del planeta...

  • The black thug who beat up Batman in 0:03

  • @medusszzaa That's Clive Curtis, the guy who tries to shoot Bond and almost beat Batman but fell off the tower.

  • At 1:18 even the music is aghast at what the getaway car is, lol!

  • Comment removed

  • Unbreakeable Citroen 2CV

  • Will a 2cv survive a roll like that?

  • As the 2CV was designed to be driven off-road (within reason), it would have been the perfect car to do some of those stunts in-unmodified. Yes the panels are flimsy-but the chassis and engine (2CV or GS), is extremely tough.

  • This scene filmed at North West Corfu, the village is Pagoi.

  • The townspeople were certainly Good Samaritans, turning the car upright and then giving it a push.

  • I want one

  • I dont remember this being on saturday telly?

  • 4:32 THE BEST SCENE

  • the music when he see's the 2CV! hahahaha

  • woman: *flips car*

bond: "you don't mind IF I DRIVE now, do you?"

    typical.

  • bond not driving. -_-

  • english, espagnol que se pone buena la cosa...la magnifique Carole...and the deuch up side down...et qui repart...genial!!!

  • 0:58 EPIC FAIL!!!!!

    1:04 well i hope you have a car! |-D

  • lol @3:48 cracks me up how bond nods at the bad guys while there trying to cause a crash

  • @col06

Vintage Roger Moore. He's the best.

  • this one have a 4 cilinder engine

  • Adoro este coche pero... 4:12 LOL

se ve perfectamente que no va el coche hacia atrás si no que han rebobinado para atras!

Ah! hoy en dia ya no hay esos horribles autobuses en Madrid XD

  • The little car that could!

  • That car security seems just a tad over the top.

The BMW from Tomorrow never dies was a bit less harsh. :)

  • @G1NZOU I did not know what you were referring to until I looked at: youtube.com/watch?v=xMNFBLeSJek

    it is rather less drastic!

  • I want a yellow Citroën. NOW!

  • @SabrinaFromTipperary I drivin one, and if you live in a city dosen't matter if it's Dublin or Dallas well New York and you're screwed the 2cv may be a pain especially if you driven faster cars before so the main things is acceleration is poor and you know how they lean over like mad at a sharp corner. Any where especially in the USA excluding France they'll pull you over because they would think you did something to the suspension that they think is hazardous.

  • Install an Ami Super (See amisuper.com ) gear box with disc brakes (earlier 2CVs had drum brakes all round), a GS engine, adjust the suspension (stronger dampers?) and extend the bonnet..... clutch, starter motor and alternator from GS or Ami Super, not sure!

  • Is it a hard job to put in a GS flat 4? I'd love one like that

  • @mrspivvy Install an Ami Super (See amisuper.com ) gear box with disc brakes (earlier 2CVs had drum brakes all round), a GS engine, adjust the suspension (stronger dampers?) and extend the bonnet. clutch, starter motor and alternator from GS or Ami Super, not sure!

  • @tonyfuller God weve got some rain coat citroen talk going on here.

  • @tonyfuller

No: the chassis from the 2cv is not strong ennough and the much bigger GS gearbox not fit correctly in...

the best way is to put a 2cv body on a Ami Super chassis (need only light details modification) but the Ami are rare now...

  • @oiseautempete - Agreed starting with an Ami Super chassis and gearbox as the basis for a 4 cylinder 2CV project would be better, the 2CV bonnet would need to be extended to contain the physically larger engine.

  • @mrspivvy Good GOD get a pair of testicles you effeminate goof! A flat 4 indeed.

  • @MrGrevy er...yes? a flat 4? what's the issue?

  • The 2CV sounds like a paper bag as it rolls down the hill at 3:59

  • 1:33

At last, the 2CV had a bulletproofed interior.

  • One of my favourite bonds - Roger's best performance.

  • This was one of the single best bond sequences

  • loved this movie like most bond movies, but what a crap actress she is!

  • @Vengeance4Me79 moore tried to play bond with a lot of humour!! in moores forst 2 films hr tried to play bond like connery, slapping women and that, it didnt suit him!!

  • ROGER RULES!!!

He is the best BOND of them all!!

He has class and is soo debonair....

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAAMN that car can take a beating!

  • YYYEEEE 2CV IS THE BEST!!! XD XD

  • I like this car chase scene. No gadgets, a simple car, some help from locals, Carole Buquet doen't panic (she even seems to be amused, for some reason). It's my favourite Bond car chase, and this movie was above all Bond movies starring Moore. It took us back to the 1960's, just what the series needed at that time.

  • Jej Roger Moore tiene cara de gato. Mmm que buena esta la Melina Havelock esa

  • In this movie, the used a 2cv with the engine of the Citroen GS (air-cooled 4 cylinder engine, instead of the 2cv's air-cooled 2 cylinder engine); that's why the car could go that fast; that's why the engine sound is also different. anyway, the 2cv is one of the best cars ever... i actually own one

  • If you lookin for a "SUV", take this one. It´s a great car. "lucky duck" :-)

  • This is badass - it's like James Bond Mario Kart!

  • Brilliant scene, duelling French cars, some of Moores best work as 007!

Bill Contis music is total crap.

  • The CV2 was the poormans car of its time, and it still will be today, but this is not a bad thing, it was "the poormans car", because it was cheap, efficient, and was easy to fix and maintain. (also being so light, if you got stuck, it was a cinch to get unstuck!

  • 2CV.

  • @killerkip1 No, it's no more a poormans car today, it's a collector car. There are some fans associations and meetings in France.

  • the car is the best car ever BECAUSE it's the worst car ever. It's the last car you'd ever expect James Bond to drive. I love this car!

  • Best car alarm ever. Wish we'd get a few like this in my neighborhood.

  • i love the 2cv's sound...

  • I love how Roger Moore's stunt double looks nothing like him.

  • That is partially correct, the 2CVs (there were several for the filming) had a 4 cylinder air cooled engine either 1220CC or 1300cc from a Citroen GS as opposed to the normal 2 cylinder air coled 602cc engine. I have a 2CV now and for running around town and local countryside it is great

  • @TashkentFox

is that not the point of the scene? even in a dunger bond wins the day! :-)

  • He wouldn't have if there was a 2CV engine under the bonnet (that 2CV was modified, with a more powerful engine from a Peugeot)

  • actually it was from a citroen GS

  • It's still a more powerful engine that the puny 2CV unit.

  • "Take the low road!"

    *crash*

    "Not that low..."

    lol

  • 3:47 Bond giving the enemy a little smile lol. Roger Moore is the best Bond imo.

  • Best lines are at 2.29

  • A new Jungle Scene Everyone

    Who wow!

    hahaha

    bye

  • Bond drive the best cars! Except Borosnan`s BMW.

  • I Met Roger Perssonally and he really doesn't go round shooting people,he's no.2 on my 'The Best 007ACTORS'List.

    Pierce Brosnan comes first

  • Who is Roger Perssonally?

  • Bond at his best!

  • Preety safe 2cv huh....

  • damn thattsa nice car alarm....0:59

  • That was a brilliant car chase.

  • Roger moore is the best james bond he rules!

Roger moore vous êtes mon james bond préferé vous avez vraiment la classe!

    thanks for posting this video!

  • @melende1966 him and connery were the best!!!

  • At 3:56 you can see people standing right behind the 2cv as it rolls, I think they're sound guys! haha

  • No. Those are extras. DUH! Get your facts straight.

  • good music in this bond

  • même en 2CV James Bond s'en sort toujours ^^ c'est pour ça qu'il est le meilleur =D

  • DIZ DA 1ST EVA BOND FLICK I SAW

  • Why Why Why ! I still can't understand why they do that to the Esprit !

It should have been the greatest bond car chase with the Turbo Esprit in it.

  • This chase is different of the usual Bond chases & that's exactly the idea. Usually chases with sport cars like the Esprit are done to show the car's capacity. So is this chase. The 2CV's qualities such as its durability are shown.

Besides. Villagers helping Bond shows another 2CV quality: The car's charisma. You drive a 2CV & people love you. Now i'ld like to see pedestrians helping Daniel Craig and his expensive sport car. Lol

  • Maybe they should issue Blondie a 2CV for the next movie so someone on the screen can have a personality!

  • You are SO right. Daniel Craig has all the personality of a stuffed cabbage.

  • This video is awsome,i would love to get my 2cv to go like that!,didn't it have a 1300 gsa engine in it?

  • Yes it had a 4 cylinder GS or GSA engine it, not sure of the size, though. The exhaust pip was set up to make it still sound like a 2CV engine,

  • "Not that low" - Classic quote from a classic film!

  • Sounds like an authentic tuned up 2CV sound, mine sounds like this at about 110mph.

  • Forget that new Ferrari Citroën 2CV thing, all you need to make a Citroën 2CV fast is James Bond!

  • Moore's best outing as Bond.

  • TRUE DAT

  • esos espejos retrovisores sabes lo que valen?

    look my citroen...

  • that was the worsest idea that Q ever had.

  • the moment i saw it get up... that acceleration doesn't belong to a 2cv :D

  • ye the accelaration and the sound also doesn't belong to a "2cv".... i think the traction of this 2cv in the movie is harder than an official 2cv...you can see that in the turns...

  • this is 3cv not 2cv and it sound same as my first car the 3cv special ,, ahhh the old days i loved my 3cv i could do 70mph on a very bumpy road without feeling a thing

  • The model name of this Citroen remained to be 2CV (4+6) even when the fiscal rating of the engine was increased, Citroen never made a car called a 3CV

  • The 3cv just was a model made in Argentina. It was a powered 2cv and they just changed the name.

  • 0:40! haha.

  • Ahahahaha!

  • is the guy at 1:09 holding an MP40?

  • Recently the staff of the TV Show -- 5Th Gear -- presented an episode devoted to the history of the Citroen, just trying the 2cv Citroen used in this film and now owned by a collectors. They explained that the choice of 4-cylinder engine of the GS was linked to the needs of the film shooting, to keep up with the fastest peugeot 506.

    Excellent video, great job

  • I love the part whwere he brakes the window and car explodes

  • citroen 2cv good car very good.

  • Super , la bonne vieille deuch!!

  • Roger is just brilliant as Bond.. He"s Fleming"s Bond.. That says enough!

  • Why Daniel Craig can't be that way...btw we probably didn't been introduced..my name is bond jaems bond :P

  • where can i get the music ?

  • they are on the "For your eyes only" soundtrack. A few copies of it are on ebay.

  • Thats no 2cv engine

  • That car in the movie had the Citroën GS engine on it. Ear it roar.

  • Carole Bouquet is realy very charming.

  • "I love a drive in the country, don't you?"

    epic! :)

  • There was a set of French comedy films that used the 2CV as a comedy tool, tipping them up etc. Does anybody know what they were called?

I think they were 80s films.

  • Le gendarme les scenes de 2cv

  • "I love a drive in the country, don't you?" Heh heh....good old Rog.

Quality stuff. This is a fab car chase - fun, inventive, well paced and filled with great stunts. I love this movie. The thriller, drama, action and humour elements are perfectly balanced. Moore is splendid.
