Good job ammosmoke the F-18 is capable of mach 2.3 or a little more than twice the speed of sound. If shock wave went that fast the body design would melt!! LOL You are right. No way the shockwave beats the F-18 in a TRUE race.

That is BS cause the jet can go about 550 mph ... the truck cold never go that fast the jet slowed down alot. Those jets can slow to almost stop i have see then do it at Langley in Hampton,Va

LOL how is that a challenge!?!?? The hornet beats that thing hands down. This is not a "race" at all, it is just glorifying the shockwave. Althought the shockwave IS really cool. Shockwave goes 300mph or so. Hornet goes about 1500mph. No contest.

And the truck never really lets go.....imagine that thing on the salt flats for a measured mile....providing it could stay in a stright line and not get airborne

Heh, listening to the kids watch the Shockwave win made me think about the first time I saw a jet truck when i was a lot younger....Made me smile, can't wait for the Great New England Airshow of 2008...I'll be there.

yes that is fast, for the truck. its not that they are rly racing, just that the truck is outperforming and the hornet is underperforming, so "vs" is let down. theres like a super sonic car, i wanna see that race the hornet, obviously the plane would win but it could vary enough to make them seem to gain the advantage over each other.

lol come to think of it u would need alot of tires for that truck 300 knots on a tire can easly pop and it has 10 tires,but the truck pushes over 36,000 hp and almost 350ph and it would brin about 4000 knots every run.... lmao!!!

That truck is awesome, but I'm afraid the Hornet would have pulled ahead if it turned on the afterburners and pulled up the gear sooner.

i just got back from the 2008 1 in shreveport it was a amazing airshow the shock wave won against a prop no figure and the got a biger engine so its faster no its amazing
