  • ehh no, that is by far the worst film I've ever seen in my entire life!

  • A very savvy and astute review of TGP. It's more enjoyable than most of this type (e.g. Meatball Machine), but does lack substance. I really enjoy your reviews.

  • No fuck this movie

  • Duck this movie

  • I though the movie was cool, it was the first Tokyo shock film I have seem

  • Take down that flag

  • Turncoat

  • That's a cool review, I found this movie not that original too, yet inspiring somehow. I am not a real fun of gore though. The way society is presented in this movie is surely way more interesting than the gore, at least that's what I think. I usually prefere the way Carpenter criticizes society rather than this way. Have you or has anyone here watched the Machine girl? It's about revenge too. Japanese people love that topic. I agree with Non Stop Tokyo, this is not that original anyways!

  • your so cute!

  • looks like holly from the office.

  • why the fuck do you have a pre world war japanese flag ya fuckin turncoat

  • wow ur so kinda this movie had so many issues

  • your so hot constantine, want to go out:?

  • Quit trying to sound smart reviewing a feel good nonsensical movie, and show me your boobs!

  • Glad to see a review on this film!

  • I loved this movie but I am a sucker for cheap gore

  • penis gun, venus fly trap vagina's wtf is going on! im avoiding this film! wait for some reason im considering to buy it :P im confused!

  • You are beautiful, you are proper, you watch and comment my favorite genre of flicks in a funny but very interesting and intelligent way hece I must conclude you are a Goddess:) Mayy ask you your friendship? Ciao!

  • Great review. I'm gonna give it a try ^_^

  • LOving the review,

whats the name of the song at the start?!?!?!?

  • @lared101 Dir en grey, THE FINAL

  • @NonStoptoTokyo

    thankyou!!!!

    it rocks my socks!

    (=

  • @lared101 No problem, Dir en grey rocks my socks too. Woah, backwards smiley face... =)

  • Again, nice review.....and I agree, all about old school, in-camera work

  • @ToolManDan82 Yeah, I am definitely an old-school kind of girl, so it's nice to see that they're still doing it in Japanese film.

  • Though I agree with you on not liking planned cult classic movies, I think the director was successful. Since I saw this before any other film of this style I found it amazing.

  • @ImmortalDestructor It's definitely not a bad movie, it just felt a bit forced to me in a few places. =)

  • This is a good review.. But.. I just couldn't get over how you didn't say their names right. >_<;

  • you're beautiful

nice review i agree, we've seen it over and over again, damn revenge films. also i liked the prosthetics too. it wasn't the best film, but it's not as bad as Machine Girl.

    WRIST CUTTA G

  • @pastuiedada That's interesting, I seem to run into a lot of people who prefer Machine Girl to Tokyo Gore Police.

  • this movie his hilariously ridiculous. it's pretty funny, i definitely recommend anybody to watch it, you will die of laughing.

  • ``C~~~ nice girl :3

  • Tokyo Gore Police was win :/

  • i dont think battle royale is at all the same as this movie maybe the girl but other then that the plots are complitely differnt

  • @Darknessmanga The plots are completely ridiculous, but that girl was pretty much exactly the same character. She wasn't really necessary to the plot of TGP at all, so I don't think she should have been in the movie.

  • I had the same flag in my room when a few year sago xD

  • @sammythangerules Woohoo! Go Japanese Imperial Navy!

  • @NonStoptoTokyo

It's a beautiful flag. And btw I hated TGP, even more than you did (^^,). Penis gun? NOES.

  • @sammythangerules Hahaha, yeah. That part was a bit much.

  • @NonStoptoTokyo

It's a beautiful flag. And btw I hated TGP, even more than you did (^^,). Penis gun? NOES.

  • OK, I even did not know this film at all, I've just made up my mind to buy this DVD, because your reviews on other Japanese films and on Japanese film directors sound quite fair and trustable.

BTW who the hell is Nishimura Yoshihiro? I've never heard of the guy's name before though?

  • @radiocommander Well, this film isn't all that great. Nishimura Yoshihiro directs a lot of Japanese cult cinema. His movies are over-the-top and have buckets of fake blood in them

  • Love the intro music!!! I'm a huge fan of Dir en Grey and it made me so happy to hear it for this review. (^_^) 'o

  • tokyo gore police is the most awesome movie there is in the world and i like to say best movies come from japan

  • Great objective review, thanks! Despite of the plot being trite you still made me want to watch this one! ^^

  • it is indeed a wacky movie-poyfect review

  • @bendastreetballa Thanks!

  • im a takashi miike fan and iv e seen auditon and ichi the killer and i was wondering if their was any other movies he did that you liked or would reccomend i see

  • @MultiRyuhayabusa If you like yakuza movies, then you should watch his Dead or Alive Trilogy. Visitor Q is a well-known (and controversial) movie by him - it's a little too much for my tastes. And The Happiness of the Katakuris.

  • I am a Japanese citizen and are

    impressed with your various

    comments on Japanese film.

    Great analysis.

  • Thanks a lot for the comment, GRoumier2004-san! It really makes me happy to hear that people enjoy these reviews!

  • What a coincidence.... I just happen to have watched TGP a few minutes ago, not knowing that the first vlog on your channel I would read is just about that movie ;)

I did not like the movie at all... Bad storyline, bad acting, cheap effects... The only good parts were rip-offs of Battle Royal (that blond chick) and the recruitment vids (Starship Trooper). I did like the police uniforms and the pet woman on katanas ;)

I like Machine Girl better ;)

What do you think of Takeshi Kitano?

  • @itsfortytwo I agree, this movie is definitely not that great. I do love Takeshi Kitano though!

  • Are you single

  • BEAUTIFUL WOMAN!!!

  • Pleaseeee tell me the names of the movies in the begining of this clip with Toshiro Mifune slicing yojimbo style? :) plz

  • @Sweetassour Sword of Doom

  • why do you like the japanese movie?

  • Proper review!

    Defenetly gonna watch this one.

  • cool right on i think i ordered this video, machine girl was pretty good

  • great movie, it is actually a typical gore/splatter film but the whole scenario, story and many of the szenes are really creepy and very well made.

  • the 80s low budget style effects were awesome in this film it was definitely gore candy for the eyes indeed. the director and writer must have been on some serious meds too.

  • I was really debating on whether or not I should watch this film, but after seeing your review I can safely say it doesn't look as bad as anything else I've ever seen. XD

The penis gun just made me laugh out loud and I dig the dog girl at the end with her machine gun limbs.

Great review, keep it up! *thumbs up*

  • Fun review. =)

Like you my favorite parts were those intermittent commercials. I think they made the whole movie. This was one of the first splatterfest-y J-movies I saw so I guess because of that I didn't find it as campy or trite, but I see what you mean now.

I think you should review Robogeisha as soon as you see it (so you beat everyone else!). Looks to be in the same vein as this and Machine Girl, and somehow even more ridiculous. Check it out if you haven't heard about it.

  • The commercial were hands down the best part of the whole movie.

ROBOGEISHA? Haven't heard of it but I will definitely check it out!

  • You should review The Machine Girl.

  • have a look at meatball machine its wicked stuff, oh and move to england and be my queen lol x

  • =P England already has a queen. I'll be the Intergalactic Overlord though.

  • ha ha yes yes babe

  • i honistly say that this was the worst movie i have ever seen.

it was terrible and really the only thing i wish i could unwatch

  • ahh im going to sound stupid for this but what film is the black and white samurai one at 0.07

and hmmm i agree on some things you say about this movie but also disagree on some things but thats why we all have different opinions !! =]

its good you take into account things they wanna do and things you can appreciate and also flaws...i hate one sided reviews haha ! gd urs is not tho :)

  • I believe that is Sword of Doom or Harakiri

  • I THINK IVE FELL IN LOVE....

  • With the flytrap-vagina girl? Because I love her too...

  • LOL=]

    I MEAN YOU!=]

  • lol

  • I hope this isn't offensive ,but it's hard not to mention how hot you are. I know you must be tired of hearing that by now though.

  • I'm always amused when I hear this, because I don't consider myself that way. Believe me, I've only been a 'hot chick' for maybe about two years...I was not attractive in high school or the beginning of college. I was 'awkward.' So it's nice to hear people say this, but I don't really believe it. =^_^=

  • You know, you should definitely watch Danny Boyle's "28 Days Later" or; the film adaptation of Phillip K. Dick's novel "A Scanner Darkly." Simply because you seem like an intelligent chick; and also mentioned 1984. Each movie has very unique and moral underlying tones. Sorry, they aren't japanese cinema though ,but they're not mainstream either; so that's a plus.

  • Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later is one of my favorite films...I really think he gave zombies their dignity back and made them scary again after all the Romero films. As for A Scanner Darkly, I feel that it's close to impossible to make a good movie version of Philip K. Dick's stories. Blade Runner is a classic and I love Total Recall, but Minority Report, Paycheck, Next? A Scanner Darkly is definitely the best of these...but nothing like the original story. =P Yes, I am a SCI-FI NERD...

  • you should watch Riki-Oh The Story of Ricky

I think you'll like it since you like TGP

  • I love Riki-Oh about 100,000 times more than TGP! It rocks!

  • @NonStoptoTokyo yea even though u could totally tell that the gore effects were completley fake the movie still rocked my fav scene was when oscar tried to choke riki with his own intestines lol

  • your too pretty to like these kind of films, great review though

  • Hey now...don't exclude me because I'm blonde! Not fair...I want to play too! =P

  • we need more birds like you in england, girls here just wanna watch the shitty mainstream films, keep up the good work ; )

  • i think this was meant to be a comedy, just making fun of other horror movies. i'v never seen this though, so i don't know.

  • I liked TGP better than Battle Royale simply because the novel of BR had so many characters that the movie couldn't possibly capture everything in the book. TGP was a barrel of fun whereas BR was just a huge boring let down for me. Plus I found that BR ruined every character it used. Sorry, I have beef with that film.

  • I see where you're coming from. I saw the film first and then read the novel, so I felt like the story just got better. Had I done it the other way around I probably would have been much more annoyed with the movie.

  • The director didn't do a bad job with the story, it just shouldn't have been made into a movie. Perhaps a mini-series or something, but they just had to scrap way too much material from the book.

  • can u go out with me. you are so hot.

  • Well, I guess that depends. Are you hot?

  • havias de ser enrabada a sangue frio!

  • nice vid

    im gonna watch

    the movie and

    you look like avril

    oh and sorry my english

    i dont now to much

  • good review :]

i am gonna have to snag a copy

  • Awesome intro!

I was listening to The Final by Dir en Grey today!

As I said on Swan's review, this looks messed!

I may see it though. =P

  • Glad you recognized the song! =^_^=

This film isn't bad, it's funny and enjoyable. Just make sure you watch it with friends...I think a lot of the effect is lost when you watch it by yourself.

  • excellent review, very thoughtful. I agree that overall the movie is good, but for me some of the self mutilation humor was perhaps a little bit much. Totally agree about how awesome the costumes and special effects were though! Your reviews deserve more views!

  • Im watching Death Note for the first time, i am very surprised at

how well it was done. I have not read the Manga but the translation

to film is compelling. I have the 2nd part and the 3rd parts, as well.

I have not watched those yet but i would be interested in hearing

what you thought of the first part. Thanks for re=uploading this

review, it's super. Oops. BTW, about DN, i am not talking about

the MANGA i am making a reference to the live action film.

  • Ah, the epic battle of wits between L and Raito (aka Light). That series has achieved a huge amount of pop culture fame...and I have to admit that I am tired of seeing people dress up as the characters, heesh!

  • I saw the anime and then the 2 parts of the live action film and I also like the film a lot better. I think it ends where the series should instead of bringing in these new characters with no development like the anime did. I tell everyone who hasn't seen the anime to watch the movie instead nowadays.

Never read the manga, but I heard it also has a different ending.

  • Ok, Riki-Oh is such an awesome film. Tokyo Gore Police didn't remind me of it, and that's a good thing because it is no where near as badass as that movie. And don't even get me started with Machine Girl...

I respect TOKYO! because I think it's very hard to make really good short films/segments. I will definitely have to talk about that.

  • yeah there wasn't hardly any CGI in that film. That was the girl in audition? well she certainly didn't add anything to it. Did you ever see Riki-Oh? This movie reminded me a lot of that film. Although, its not as good as riki-oh. But, i liked this film better than the machine girl. I was disappointed with that one. Overall I'd give the film 4/5 stars.

I think you should review TOKYO! next. The one segment made by Leo Carax blew my mind. I wish I could say I made something like that!
