Maybe the games are all digital games and the system only allows one account per system just like the Vita. You can't sell digital games, share the games, nor use two accounts on the Vita; so, my guess is that the next Xbox will be like the Vita. It makes more sense this way.

@TombstoneInc Yeah, cartridges are the shit. Since the carts had onboard memory, when you bought used back in the day, you got to know how the old owner played and what their name was, since people would leave their mark on their cartridge. I was always interested by the history of a game cart.

And as I said, the person who sells it into the used market doesn't have the game anymore, so the publisher got their $60 from the first sale, someone got a game for cheaper than a new copy, and the person who didn't like the game that they bought new got some of their money back. When game companies do this it causes people to not buy as much. People cannot always afford $60 games (or whatever the price will be if its increased). Thus, the game industry would slawly collapse.

I would imagine that to stop a used game from being played, the game company would put a function at the beginning of their game when you put it in to have you put in a code that is saved to the game information in your HDD.

they have already proven that thye can do this for example try downloading a game to your hard drive on one xbox and then take that same hard drive and game and put them in another xbox and then try to play them from the hard drive it will tell you that you need to reinstall this game for use on this xbox on the same hdd that the game is already on. i noticed this when i installed gow3 on my phat and then bought a slim i hus a thumb drive for my hdd and i put it in my slim with the game.
My best mate works at McDonalds, and he heard from his brother's sister in law, that the new xbox 720 is going to be a hybrid console, where the console's gonna create the graphics then the rest of the game gets streamed down from the internet, a bit like onlive. You heard it here first
Guns you were right about how they would do that! The CD/DVD would have a Serial Number on it or even a product code and it would bind to your console only.
removing the option of used/second hand games is almost like saying "please pirate our games".........this will create more problems than solve i think.
what about the cloud feature that is now available on xbox? whats the point, if you cant take a game to your friends house to play if it wont run on your friends console? it would mean that to use the cloud, each console would need its own copy of the game, now that could make sense to M$, though I feel that the game buyers would be so pissed off that it would not work,

EA own a game called FIFA 12 (soccer game) and it has this serial code that you only get when you buy it brand new, and if you want to play online tournements or play fifa ultimate team, you have to place this code in, after you've placed it in it voids the code and if any1 else tries to use it, EA's fifa servers would flag it and say its void, so you can't play that game online if you lend it to a freind
each game could have a serial key that would logged to an xbox live account, this is what they have done with steam for computers however you can share your steam account with friends so there are always ways to get around obstacles
i find it not very good for all consoles in next generation to use blu-ray because it helps sony win the console wars because sony was a big part in developing bluray

this only I think this could work is if an Internet connection was required in order to play any games. They can't put a code in there (need an Internet connection to check if the code was used, like the online passes that we currently have) and they can't do anything to the disc itself, that would be too risky.

I definitely think this is possible. All it will end up being like is the Online Pass system like we have now, but instead of not being able to access the multiplayer portion of a game the whole game will not be able to play until you pay for a download code on xbox live for 15-20 dollars. The code would allow any user on that particular console to play the full game not just a certain gamertag. At least thats how I'd see them implementing it. Who knows if its true, but I say it could be.

Anyone who thinks used games hurt companies is a moron. Once you buy something you are free to do whatever you want with it bar copying.This is how the economy works. You dont hear car companies bitch about used car sales so on what grounds do video game companies have to bitch. The simple fact is people buy used things because they are cheaper. If game companies want more money then lower the prices, instead of being stingy, greedy, bitchy asshats.

Meh, if they do this they will probably just lose more money anyway, don't know about you but i'm not willing to risk that much money on something i can't sell afterwards that could potentially be a terrible game. Plus, if they do this and suddenly Sony says they won't, everyone would focus on the PS and i don't think Microsoft is stupid enough to let that happen... least i hope not.

I would imagine that to stop a used game from being played, the game company would put a function at the beginning of their game when you put it in to have you put in a code that is saved to the game information in your HDD.
This is only a theory of course.

but i guess the reasoning is like this. games are digital so you get the 100% full product whether its used or not. and if a used game changes hands like 10 times, then thats 10 potential sales that game makers would lose.
Good game makers should indeed make their money. but there are those times i hate putting down full price for a game that turns out shitty

What about people who cant afford new games all the time. Like me 80% of the games i get is either used or reduced price. When developers release games sometimes, example November 2011 do you know how many games i wanted, but i couldnt get them all i cant fucking afford every game they release.

they have already proven that thye can do this for example try downloading a game to your hard drive on one xbox and then take that same hard drive and game and put them in another xbox and then try to play them from the hard drive it will tell you that you need to reinstall this game for use on this xbox on the same hdd that the game is already on. i noticed this when i installed gow3 on my phat and then bought a slim i hus a thumb drive for my hdd and i put it in my slim with the game.

My best mate works at McDonalds, and he heard from his brother's sister in law, that the new xbox 720 is going to be a hybrid console, where the console's gonna create the graphics then the rest of the game gets streamed down from the internet, a bit like onlive. You heard it here first

what about the cloud feature that is now available on xbox? whats the point, if you cant take a game to your friends house to play if it wont run on your friends console? it would mean that to use the cloud, each console would need its own copy of the game, now that could make sense to M$, though I feel that the game buyers would be so pissed off that it would not work,

EA own a game called FIFA 12 (soccer game) and it has this serial code that you only get when you buy it brand new, and if you want to play online tournements or play fifa ultimate team, you have to place this code in, after you've placed it in it voids the code and if any1 else tries to use it, EA's fifa servers would flag it and say its void, so you can't play that game online if you lend it to a freind

each game could have a serial key that would logged to an xbox live account, this is what they have done with steam for computers however you can share your steam account with friends so there are always ways to get around obstacles

this only I think this could work is if an Internet connection was required in order to play any games. They can't put a code in there (need an Internet connection to check if the code was used, like the online passes that we currently have) and they can't do anything to the disc itself, that would be too risky.

I definitely think this is possible. All it will end up being like is the Online Pass system like we have now, but instead of not being able to access the multiplayer portion of a game the whole game will not be able to play until you pay for a download code on xbox live for 15-20 dollars. The code would allow any user on that particular console to play the full game not just a certain gamertag. At least thats how I'd see them implementing it. Who knows if its true, but I say it could be.
