Huh? So if you make minimum wage and work full time that means you make $14,016 a year, so that would mean $1400 in taxes at a flat tax? Then is he saying he would do away with food stamps and Medicaid? So people who make min wage would have less than $5,000 to live off of for the year? That to me makes no sense at all. What an income tax does is it turns us all into slaves. The government actually ons you if you are forcd to pay an income tax. When you get paid by your employer you are paid to do a job. You enter into and agreement with your employer that you will work and they will pay you for your time and effort. The government in most case step between you and you employer and takes part of the money the employer was going to pay you. The money come right out of your check before you get paid.

That government get their money before you get paid. That mean the government takes what it want and decides how much it will allow you to keep. If the govern takes control of the money from your employer and then gives some of it to you then the government owns you because it gets paid for the work yo did and it controls how much of the money you get to keep. You are not allowed to keep the fruits of your labor the government gets it and it allows you keep the amount it feels you should get.

The 16th Amendment did not establish an income tax. It merely made it immune from requirements that it be apportioned with regard to a census. The first income tax was levied in 1861, over 50 years before the 16th amendment was ratified.

Regardless, the point is moot. Were it to be shown that an income tax was somehow never passed into law, then Congress would IMMEDIATELY pass such a law, and we'd be right where we are now. But I'm sure Ron Paul understands that...
