You don't have to make a separate piece of fabric for the flap. You can just make one side longer than the other when you cut out the body of the bag in the beginning.

His way works if you are working with scraps. I think this could be a good video for expert village if he works on his speech a little.

Er.. you can cut your time by a lot. Threadbangers show an entire tutorial, completed, in a minute or two, and the camera should be on the project whenever you're doing anything, and show how you measure. Half the time I don't know what you're doing or talking about.

Hey, Matt, Sweetie, pin perpendicular to the direction of the seam (like pickets on a fence) and you can sew over them if you go slow -- and they won't knock your line off to one side or the other. I have a new Janome, too, aren't they wonderful? Congratulations!!
