The "muscle" technology is really interesting, but I think in this case it provides inacuracy to the driver's feeling for it over bounces. Still pretty neat stuff.
@temvka I had a go of one of these things last year, and the 'bounce' actually makes it feel more like real car suspension. A normal pneumatic cylinder would feel too rigid, and need a lot more programming on the controller side to get the same springy feel when you go over bumps. :)
Why do these games always look so bad? I mean has anyone ever played DiRT2 or Blur? If you spend that much money on a simulation, make it look real ffs! :P
and to the guy who said this might not be best in feel. I would have to say otherwise. Any hydraulic or motor or any other system would not be as true as this. For your real vehicle has a suspension that feels like this. I do wish it would smash hard like a cylinder though like a nice pot hole here in detroit.

This is Live for Speed. Give credit to the best racing simulator or don't use it !
Also, the wheel used is the Logitech G25, which does not seem to be credited as well !
You're going to the court Festo.
And next time, make the video match the sound (because it doesn't professional...) and also put a better driver who does not seem to be scared of that simulator !!
Thing seems a bit shaky for its idle mode. Those pneumatic muscle things are too springy for that. And the view on the screen does seem to match with the chair movements. Pretty good otherwise.
The purpose is to make an entertaining system to present at the fairs and show their technology. Festo is one of the most innovative company, and if you check at the other videos in Youtube you can see that's a real wish. Beside this activity, they innovate for the industry. And lot of competitor pretending to be innovant, just follow....
what's with the pedophile smile he has?

The game is Live for Speed which is a more than decent racing simulator. I'm sure they prefer sims over arcade games when testing such machines.

i love the way the air muscles move and work. Such a clean looking function! I would like a chair please!
MacNifty 2 years ago
oh my gosh Mac Nifty needs this in his recording studio!

Festo should have given credit to the devs of LFS. /me hopes this is more money for the ring fund
racerxr2 3 years ago
the point of the video is not the game they are playing it is the fluidic muscles they use to move the chair...

I tried it, it's really nice. All those simulators that working with E-drives don't give any springy sensation

THIS IS LIVE FOR SPEED(the game) their special motion device is their w\own, but the game they are playing is live for speed.

What he's saying (in a harsh way) is that the way you phrase things means it appears LFS is developed by FESTO, which is untrue...
