Are these a sort of limited range deadlift? They are new to me. What is the advantage of rack pulls versus ordinary, full-range deadlifts? More focus to the lower back without as much emphasis on the legs? Looks very direct and painful. I'll have to give them a try.
Of course his back is going to round, it's a rep max. You won't have perfect form when you do a rep max on any pull. That's a myth. If you have perfect form, you're lifting too light.
great rack pulls. take a look at mine and let me know what you think. also there is a by the name of KingofZona that things the exercise is a waste of time, leave a comment to let him know what you think of his comment if u can
Merkaba, show a video of you performing the lift technically sound. Lifting that weight, may result in not so perfect form for some, however, that does not minimize the work effort. Notice I said GOOD WORK. If I were going to say BAD FORM, I would give advice to fine tune it.
I've yet to see rack pulls in a powerlifting competition. I used straps overload my back. I compete in strongman so this type of hitching is allowed. Thanks for looking!
you're right. not sure why I made the comment? especially since I am not very strong in the powerlifting world ( alhough I do not compete with chem assist). I was thinking in terms of deadlifts/powerlifting comp. where jerking the weight up is not allowed.

LOL - how exactly was my form bad? Please do explain. I know I hitched, but last I checked there is no rack pull in competition so I think I'm good.

Also, to Powerlifter 37, why the hate man? I used the straps for the reason below, but also because APT is one of my sponsors.
As an FYI, I've pulled 705 from the floor RAW. Have a great day!

Anyway, good job. Keep pulling man.

Nice work man - 705 from floor !Holy S###
that is my goal to reach in 2008.. a 700lb deadlift. I actually find i'm much stronger in car deadlifts than conventional.
keep at it..maybe we will meet up at Nationals this year..if I can make it :))

why the straps? I do more than that with no straps and jerking the weight up is cheating and of course illegal in competition.
